Ummm...somewhere...

Hey everyone,
Mostly all vampire stuff with some notable exceptions like Finecast Inquisitor Karamazov and the Hydra:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat440004a&rootCatGameStyle=wh
On my iPhone so can't exactly put up pics, so if someone could edit them in that would be awesome, anyway here are the American prices for comparison:
Vampire Lord on Zombie Dragon/Terrorgeist: $57.75 ($96 aus )
Wraiths and Tomb banshee (plastic): $13.25 each
Finecast Vlad and Konrad von Carstien: $18:50 each
Garden of Morr: $41.75
Finecast Inquisitor Karamazov: $53.75 ($90 aus )
DE War Hydra (finecast): $66 ($102 aus!)
DE Dreadlord on cold one (finecast): $25
DE Sorceress with skull staff (finecast): $15.25
WE Spellweaver with staff (finecast): $18.25

I can't wait to get my hand on that zombie dragon! Many many ideas running though my head! A bit sad about the lack of DE pre-orders but you know, one can live Really wanted to see the rest of the court...

If all the other Warhammer Dragon plastic kits are currently $49.50, why is the new one $57.75? Shades of more bad things to come. And I just said to someone a couple hours ago that if the Hyrda was $57.75 before, the Finecast would be $66. Sorry to say I nailed it. :(

Love the new kits, but since May 28 I'm finding myself surprisingly reticent to buy much. It took 2 decades, but I think recent GW hubris on pricing has finally got me thinking very hard about what else I'll be buying in the future.

Ummm...somewhere...

Thanks puma On an interesting side note, the Zombie dragon/Terrorgeist comes with a 20mm round base...now that means we will finally have awesome plastic walking vampires

The dragon is ona 150mm by 100mm base, same size as the arachnarok, meaning it's a hell of a lot larger then other gw dragons, and better looking IMHO, and it is a shame about the hydra :(

This trend of plastic characters in blisters is amazing. Both of the models are lovely.

Why would the hydra be so expensive..? It's not particularly large. At least the garden of morr isn't too pricey. It's not warmaster scale is it?

I'm not convinced from the photos that the Zombie Dragon is significantly larger than the other dragon kits, only that the base is larger and the stance is wider requiring the larger base to accommodate it and that the rules for it were probably designed around the wider frontage. If the rules for the Terrorgheist make it especially nasty that would explain the higher price. GW has always priced their kits with "game effects" being part of the formula. It's why some blisters of small single minis often cost more than blisters of larger, multiple minis.

Every time I see a kit that is similar to existing kits released at a higher price I know it's often a harbinger of what the price will be on all those similar kits by the following spring. By next spring there won't be hardly a kit in the range that costs less than $29 US. *sigh*

If the Garden is decently scaled, it may be the only 'reasonably' priced item on that entire advance order page.

Note from the Advance Orders page that the Garden of Morr has different pieces. It looks like they used a bunch of pieces from it to create the spread:

Why does my GW page show Inquisitor Karamazov in the Warhammer section? Is there something about him that the Grey Knights need to be made aware of? Or was he just so disgusted with Matt Ward that he decided to go to the dark side?

Love the Cairn Wraith. Gonna get one just to use as the Grim Reaper for Talisman. I'll get the vampire lord from a bits seller and use him in my WoC army. Such an easy conversion.

One of the "faces" (the one in the upper left corner box) on the cairn wraith looks pretty necron-y imo.

Foreshadow anyone?

The $66 Hydra kit is hilarious. It's almost like Games Workshop has delved into the realm of self-parody at this point.

I thought the same thing when I looked at my e-mail, the resemblance seems to close to be completely coincidental. Maybe the Necrons will be getting some grim reaper style units

Having built the new Dark Elf Dragon, I can tell you it's not that big. I've seen the Terrorgeist in White Dwarf next to regiments and it looks enormous. I'm sure alot of it is dead space, since it is relatively spindly here and there, but the scale of it seems much larger that the current Dragons.

However much larger or not it is, it certainly is well done and I'd love to have one or two. Very cool model indeed. Like a lot of long-time fans, I'm just in "sticker shock" in a way that never happened before since May 28.

Why does my GW page show Inquisitor Karamazov in the Warhammer section?

That's what I asked myself? Is magic armour of any use against a multi-melta? Or is he a Storm of Magic release you can summon to fight alongside Daemons ? That's what happens when you make some web-slave put this stuff up late at Friday night/early Saturday morning

Love the Wraiths and Banshee, but £8 for a single plastic figure is just silly - and don't tell me "It's okay, it's the same price as their old metal minis " - That's why it's too expensive. If I can get an imported metal Warcaster for the same (most likely less) price then something's not cool in the gang. I like the fact GW are producing these single figure plastic minis - but you know why they aren't in a boxed set - 4 Wraiths and a Banshee for £40 compared to £36 for a Zombie Dragon

I'll stick to Dark Sphere/Wayland for my GW stuff

One of the Cairn Wraiths heads is a bloody Necron. Seriously?!

I know I will get shot to pieces for this but I'd pay £8 for a plastic miniature IF it was a HQ or one off variant of something with multiple poses/heads.

£5 would be more along what I thought it would be priced at though.

We moan if it's Finecast (Good job it ain't, it'd be like £12/13 then). We moan if it's metal and cannot be modded and now we moan it's plastic (with three heads) because it's expensive.

:-(

Well, the Wraith and Banshee are now also hero choices, so 8 GBP for a hero is not that bad.
The Garden of Morr is a bit larger than it seems: A single Mausoleum is on a chariot base, roughly the volume of the hell cannon or a manticore, so well worth the price.
SkaerKrow wrote:The $66 Hydra kit is hilarious. It's almost like Games Workshop has delved into the realm of self-parody at this point.

How about that:
GW deemed the Finecast rereleases so secret that they denied their existence in the new White Dwarf (except the two vampires). So the new anti-marketing stragegy to artificially lower sales took a new step: Don't present all new releases even in the magazine published to present all new releases!

God damn man, $66...I remember not too long ago that thing was about $40-45, an actual reasonable price considering the size of it.

And it'll be even higher than that next year, remember that.
