Would you pay $112.00 for one? That's the equivalent of what we pay here in Australia!
Yes really.

$78 for the resin Hydra in Sweden.
The same mini in metal was $70.
Price reflects it's in-game value.

The Zombie Dragon and the Gardon of Morr are gorgeous kits.
I won't be getting them of course, unless GW change either their pricing structure or their international trade restrictions... but it's nice to know that the current lack of vision hasn't extended to the design team.

Shame that they both look so good but I wont be getting them for the same reason. I remember that someone said I would be wrong about the Australian price being around the $100 dollar mark for us. It was a shame that I was right

You said they would be typical GW Australian pricing, putting them over $100au. I just applied a little logic based on current Fantasy monstrous creature prices for the dragon, and said it would be $83au or $96au, the price of every other monstrous creature over here (well, aside form the Finecast Hydra, but that didn't have a price until now either). Most likely $96au, as it's the same size, well base size, as the Arachnorok. And I was right, $96au, not over $100au. The Garden of Morr is $69au. Neither breached the $100au mark.

In fairness he may have been using US$, I often do as this is a US site.
And the hydra is well over $100US.
More and more I'm not regretting selling off my half done armies, odds and ends and cutting back GW purchases and moving to FOW.

One thing I learned from previous experience is that the pictures are not showing the 100% actual model. Like the previous GK release. Many argued the new model of GW marines looks like crap, but the real thing is much much better than the old version (except for the new storm bolter). Consider the price and the quality of the new fantasy model, I say it is worth the price. I mean, dude, 2 models for the price of one!

I really feel for you guys in Aus - the least GW could have done was re-price everything to current exchange rates. As it is you guys are paying £29 more if you want a Hydra That's just criminal, or at least it should be.

These dragon models are so nice and expensive that I'd simply buy one to paint and display; won't even use it in an actual game such as it is a very expensive investment nowadays.

I'm willing to pay that price for the terrorgheist/dragon model. I'm going to convert it so that it's the terrogheist body and pose with the zombie dragon head and tail, I think.
The base is good too- will fit in with my swamp-undead. Should be easy enough to model those rocks jutting out of a big pool of water on the base.

Which part makes no sense? The resin that has a much higher likelihood of being flawed thanks to being a large model being more expensive than metal? That's just GW economics. Supposedly much less expensive material, 11% random price hike, more profit because people are totally gonna buy those. Right?
As for the second part, GW actually has official statements that reflect that mentality (see VC Blood Knights), and the Hydra is quite good for its points. I guess they realized that since they made them a bit easier to kill, more people are bringing two in their armies.

I know it is off topic but we seem to be arguing from completely different starting points.
$102 Australian = how much in US Dollars? - why about $112US.... which is why I say it is well over $100US.
I know the US pays $66.
We are in Australia, I can get it from the US for 66 but here in Oz we have to try and relate to the US and UK markets just how much we get ripped off down here.

And interestingly enough, not only does 40k "cost more" in Australia, but housing "costs more", food "costs more", and every other product "costs more"!

Explained to me with any amount of evidence? That has yet to happen.
Every economics article I have ever read, every economics major friend I have, every Australian friend I have talked to, and every raw statistic I have looked into supports me. In Australia the cost of living is higher. Unsurprisingly, this also extends to Warhammer 40,000.
