Oh great -.-
I freaking hate Anonymous for doing this and i was supportive of them. but the problem is that they are targeting social media places now. So much for freedom fighters.
Whats everyones opinion on this?

As for what I think about it. I would rather they screw with Facebook than something important like police or government.
Or it is another group >.>
Hackers are doing the wrong things nowadays hopefully they focus on evil power houses like bank of america.

Why do you think that threatening Facebook means you're not a freedom fighter? Facebook is about as free as a cattle range.
Also, what makes you think this annonymous is the same annonymous that had anything to do with the previous announcement? What makes you think any annonymous has anything to do with any of the others?

true, but It's kinda of a bad idea as not everything is true.
Though it does have valid points.

The only stupid thing about it is that there's no technical way to "destroy Facebook". They could 'deface facebook'. They might be able to 'annoy facebook'. But destruction would require destroying physical datacenters, erasing god knows how many backups, hidden in god knows how many places.
It just wouldn't work.
One thing is a fact though. Facebook is not your friend. It's evil, and it IS selling you like cattle.

How is facebook not free? It may not protect internet privacy, but who really expects privacy on their facebook posts anyway?
I'd say a google search for 'facebook privacy' should indicate who is concerned over it.

Can they do this, and remain anonymous? Or by hacking facebook, would everyone know it was them, thus their anonymity would be lost? Or was this posted by some anonymous person who's not anonymous?
Personally, I'm a facebook hater so I'd love to see em die in flames. But, I'd also hate to see that happen because of all the facebook code junk my site at work has, and I'd have to spend 2 days fixing everything if Facebook died, like the last time they decided to change their code without telling anyone...

Bwah?

So, just the eff then? Although I did see an article on Forbes.
I still don't see how this changes your expectation of privacy. When you give private information to a company like facebook you really waive your ability to keep that private.
Ironic. Facebook and social media were vital tools in the overthrow of Egypt and continued opposition to oppressive regimes in Syria, Iran, and China and is now accused of aiding said regimes. Doing a little double dealing there are you Facebook?
And Anonymous' solution to oppression? Oppress the oppressors through terrorist action! This is the most entertaining thing on the internet since George Lucas Strikes back.

This is so true.
Don't rain on the tinfoil hat parade, though! Facebook is a tool of the Bildebergers and the Knights Templar to... umm...
Well it isn't good, whatever it is!

Haters gon' hate.
"Medias of the world… stop lying! #OpFacebook is just another fake!" it tweeted. "We don't 'kill' the messenger. That's not our style."
That led to responses from other Twitter users claiming to be Anonymous members.
"Dudes, you're not the only anons in the world," said a user called Nicu Calcea. "We are bigger than a twitter account. It's not for you to decide."
Another user called AnonSmith01 alleged that Facebook sells information to security firms, adding, "That's a violation of what we stand for, all you people should know that."
AnonOps responded, "Don't be silly." It suggested that more important things were happening in the world than Facebook. "Let's keep our style & moral," it said.
It finally formally acknowledged that "#OpFacebook is being organized by some Anons."
It added: "This does not necessarily mean that all of Anonymous agrees with it… We prefer to face the real power and not to face to the same medias that we use as tools."
Kabal of the Void Dominator - now with more purple!
"And the moral of the story is: Appreciate what you've got, because basically, I'm fantastic."

I Know that facebook isn't my friend..... Thats why i put meanlingless information that doesn't help anyone and liking everything for no reason at all.
Plus I put in stuff that is useless.

I'm sure this means allot to you kiddiewinks but the only thing that I could make out of that was that Stephen Hawkins now has a slight American accent - pretentious prick.

You took Madonna (and thank you for that) so we took Hawking.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Indeed, Facebook could disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't notice. Now if Annonymous hacked Dakka, they'd have my attention (I didn't need to use this orkmoticon, but it's the first time I've seen it and I couldn't resist. When are we getting a sarcasm one?)
Or you could, you know, just not post stuff you want to keep private on facebook? If someone posts something that they didn't want the world to know on facebook, I can't really say I feel sorry for them.
oh,you know. in a basement...cooking ponies into cupcakes....
the heck? were do they even come up with this stuff?
im not a big facebook user, and if it disappeared,id be ok. but i honestly just dont get why.facebook? is evil? didnt we learn this, like, when the guy got sued?
next thing you know they will attack video games...or worse, war gaming

Knowing /b/tards, I wouldn't hold it past them, this is why I agree with 2chan eliminating their /b/ board, and ZERO TOLERANCE for anonymous groups in japan.
