Me.
I havent listened to much music since i lost my Ipod a year ago but now suddenly i am more interested again. Find me decent Bands dakka!

Stipulations:

Nothing japanese, unless it is not obviously 'J-rock/pop etc'
Nothing from videogames
Nothing soundtrack/OST
Nothing 'black metal'.
Nothing Dubstep/techno, i.e. anyone who reglarly headlines 'the Arches'.
Nothing hip hop, i dont dislike it, i just have to be in a very particular mood to listen to it.
Nothing 'indie' i.e. anything that sounds like The wombats, i like grandiose music with immense production.
No cringey lyrics. For my definition of Cringey Lyrics Type either 'Mumford and Sons' or 'Biffy Clyro' into youtube listen to one of their songs. Horrible Horrible lyrics, or 'Introspective Poetry' as they would probably call it.
Never been a massive pink floyd fan some of it is just a bit silly
Nothing Overly funky/dancable, i like to listen to music by myself, in my bed, frequently in the dark, Sometimes naked....... (ignore the last one)
Nothing 70's rock. Cos it's crap........

The most important:
No band/act who has a video with more than a couple million views on youtube. I have probabably heard of most bands more popular than this, this thread is for discovering new stuff.

Some Stuff i like Lol
Mogwai
Nine inch Nails (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' 'The social network' is great too)
Discovery by Daft punk, anything else they have done is pretty throaway imo.
Maps
Decemberists
Pelican
Russian Circles
Puscifer
Tool (though i have pretty much outgrown them)
Gruff Rhys/Neon Neon/Super furry Animals
Steven Wilson's solo stuff and some porcupine tree.
some Depeche mode.
Mesghuggah
Cynic
Mnemic
A couple Fear factory tracks
A couple Nevermore tracks, though the lyrics are pretty unbearable in places.
Pelican
A couple Tangerine Dream tracks
Cloudkicker
Tesseract
Killing Joke
Always been Fond of Rammestein but have never got 'into them'

Very vaguely based on your tastes, I would recommend giving the New Pornographers a go. Starting with Twin Cinema.

Have you ever listened to anything like Boards of Canada, Cut Copy, Kid Loco or Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herren Band by any chance? I can honestly say that I don't think Iv'e ever known anyone that's as picky as you are Mr O.P. It must be a bloody nightmare for you hardly liking anything. Oh and also try Elliot Smith in case you like laid back stuff acoustic stylee. I Listen to all kind's of stuff and am discovering new stuff all the time. I sympathise for you, I really do. Oh yes, another one I have just remembered is Erland Oye. Hope this helps.

Fantastic Planet is a fabulous album. Forgot to write down failure.

Boards of Canada didnt really float my boat last time i gave one of their tunes a listen but i may give them another go. Your recommendations look interesting however.

I like Phil collins, wouldnt have him on my Ipod but i like his 80's solo stuff. That peter gabriel song called something like 'war without frontiers'(?) is pretty cool as well, shame he inflicted that Turd 'sledgehammer' on the world. Unforgivable.

@Nectarprime, I think Cloudkicker are already on my list.

That's what I get for skimming!

I'm guessing you've already heard of Between the Buried and Me, even though I did not see them on your list. If you haven't, check out "Colors", it's an amazing album.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

I don't know how much of this list would make you happy, but hey I'll give it a try,

Cage the Elephant, they had one song that was in boarder lands, but other than that they haven't been in much else
Slaves on dope
Dope
Dry kill logic
Super Joint ritual
Motor Grader (might be spelled wrong)
Johny cash (his cover of the song Hurt) This one might have the youtube veiws a little high but its a good song
KnashVille Pussy
Ugly Kid Joe
Modest mouse

These aren't the newest bands but they are all good. And new doesn't matter if it sucks, just what ever you do (unless you want your ears to bleed and your anus to hurt) don't listen to Five Finger death punch. So enjoy and I hope you find something worth listening to.
