How would life usually go on one basic Ork world?

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!

Well, either racing and running over pedestrians, punting a grot to see how far it goes, or beating up other orks for teef and sheer pleasure, oh and wait for a space hulk to turn up, not the nicest place to live unless your " DE BIG BOSS!"

Like Grand Theft Auto, only everyone's a player character, and there's a nasty melee system like in Space Marine.

Put Orkish language in place of 1337speak, too.

Not that there's much of a difference.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Ork worlds are probably the most common kind in the Galaxy.

Basically it's either just a big unstable mess of ramshackle shacks in a makeshift city with no concepts of zoning/organized construction. The only road is probably for racing games and there's probably also a fight pit for entertainment. Days are spent eating, brawling, shooting at stuff for fun, beating on Grots, collecting teef or shiny things, etc.. For the many Ork worlds that are too distant from any human or non-greenskin civilization to fight with, the main hobby of the world is fighting each other.

Or

A sprawling complex of crudely constructed pollution-spewing factories churning out war materials, stompas, gargants, battlefortresses, etc.. These complexes are run by Mekboyz in the service of an especially crafty Warboss planning a Waaagh!. The factories are manned by captured slaves (probably humans) and the Orks themselves spend most of the time harassing the slaves, having fun with weapons, brawling.

They are. Ork territory is the entire galaxy, the only difference is how dense Ork populations are in certain parts compared to others.

Which would probably be the market center

And there's also "the drops", where Orks defecate/urinate, which is also a grazing ground for squigs (Orks don't mind, it adds a bit of excitement to a trip to the drops after all).

HA! that just made my day! And the town square is where the warboss drives in circles his battlewagon with a deffrolla and rolls over "victims" in the way

Now replicate that a few million times and add in countless minor skirmishes and many major wars between settlements until one of them gets large enough to dominate, which causes them to promptly leave the world on a WAAAGH!, and you ahve an Ork world.

Yeah, "Ork Worlds" are usually temporary things like Tyranid worlds. There are permanent Ork Empires though - wonder what their problem is?

Ork worlds aren't temporary.... it's just that peace isn't something an Ork wants, so why would they have it?

I didn't know everyone killed each other and crapped in a hole full of squigs! sounds interesting, gonna put that on my bucket list

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. Do not stand on the seat,
The squigs here can jump six feet.
If you think thats so sly,
nip around the corner, the squigs there fly.

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

I assume the more established empires still fight among themselves, but the Warlord (or Arch whatever he wants to be called) has enough boys to keep it down to the point where it doesn't threaten him.

I also assume most orks just stay in the cities when they have teeth to spend, hobbies (such as they are) to pursue, or time to kill until the next big campaign to exspand the empire comes around. Probably grots are the most permanent citizens (In that most live in the same city for the duration of their, usually particularly short, lives)

Right, so a Marine (or Naval) Base when the power goes out in a hurricane....

i dislike that everybody thinks the orks would stripmine out a planet or have ONLY poorly made shaddy towns.

orks do produce that is for sure.. however they are good at looting.. read not BAD at looting so while somehtign an ork builds might look shoddy or liek a shanty town but it'd be a sound structure. sure orks don't have trained engeneers but eremember orks get all thier abilities naturally like meks just have a knack for building and that is recognised.

I can see them strip mining for a large waaaagh or at a weapons plant. however on a stand alone ork world you'll have all sorts of primitive weapons along with more advanced tribes having metal choppas and real gunz but when they are killed they'd pretty much be recycling the parts ... cause thats's what orks do

I imagine it more like a mad max type world arenas, racing, fighing everywhere

Orks must be good at recycling. They must have stripmined their empires a long time ago but still keep making new guns and bullets.

Yeah, but there's nothing left to stripmine or eat. Worlds like that usually get stuck in the fungus and squig level in their orkology.
