So, Dakkanauts, what's you're favourite rarely-consumed food or drink?

Mine's Curiosity Cola. Tastes like dandelion & burdock, comes in a funky glass bottle and since it's slightly alcoholic, drinking it makes you look cool!

Wait...if no one's ever head of it...how do they know it's food?...or that it exist?...seems to me one can't eat what has yet to be discovered..

Perhaps " Favorite odd food" would be more accurate thread title.

Manbread. It's a concoction me and my buddy have been improving on (from a page on 1d4chan, interestingly enough) that's essentially a loaf of bread that's filled with meat, cheese and veggies and baked. It's fething delicious.

Menudo pretty good tasting, its a soup made with cow stomach, intestines, and and some odds in ends mixed in. Tastes great, but when I describe it to others, they think I'm crazy. I also like tacos de lengua, or cow tounge.

fr srs:

I tend to experiment with things by adding bovril and/or soy sauce to them. Bovil and baked beans, for example, is awesome (tested with Heinz Baked Beans in a microwave; basically dump the beans into a microwavable container, add bovril to taste, mix until the bovirl no longer leaves streaks in the tomato sauce, then just follow the microwaving instructions on the tin), as is roughly chopped garlic fried in (liberal amounts of) tamari soy sauce between two buttered slices of bread.

I also recently experimented with Prince's Mackerel fillets in tomato sauce, scrambled eggs and the aforementioned bovril beans.

Basically, empty the tin of mackerel fillets into a small bowl and season if necessary. Mash the fillets up with a fork, making sure to stir the tomato sauce back into the fish if it pools around the mix. Set to once side. Grab a non-stick pan or saucepan (preferably non-stick, and preferably a saucepan (because that's what I use), you'll be eating your tea off the side of the pan if it isn't), two medium eggs and a bowl or jug to beat the eggs in. Also have handy some garlic salt and/or regular salt and/or pepper. Crack both the eggs into the jug or bowl, add a liberal sprinkling of garlic salt and season further with regular table salt and/or pepper.

Beat the eggs, garlic salt and further seasoning together. To the pan, add a teaspoon of butter and a teaspoon of oil (I use plain olive (not virgin or extra virgin), but vegetable or sunflower should suffice), or if using less or more eggs, half a teaspoon of each per egg. Heat the pan so that the butter is sizzling (whilst it heats up, prepare the bovril beans) and add the egg mix. Keep the mix on the move as much as possible, and add the mashed mackerel just as the egg begins to firm; we want the fish to simply heat through and blend with the egg.

When the egg is cooked to your preference, remove from the pan and complete the bovil beans if they are not already done so. Serve on a plate, with the egg and fish beneath a bed of the steaming hot beans and gag wretch enjoy.

Not sure how secret this is, but, I'd never thought of it before this week:

Take two (2) Grilled Cheese sandwiches.

Betwixt them, add many rashers of bacon, slices of tomato, dollops of butter and mayonnaise, and a leaf of romaine.

Eat.

No, the leaf is required. It's cool crispness is like a cold beer in the hot tub. Perfection.

As for me, gravy bread: french roll dipped in italian beef gravy (basically heavily seasoned au jus).
