PP has announced life sized Warmachine and Hordes weaponry...

It would be nice if seeing their work scaled up to full size would persuade them to rein in some of their sillier oversized equipment.

This is pretty ridiculous, and yet, I do want one. The silly over-sized weapons are part of the charm of the game IMO.

Well when you put it like that, you make it seem like I'm a casual Warmachine player (of which I am, thanks for the link!).

We'll have to see what Artyfakes can come up with. Their stuff looks decent enough, but you're right, we'll have to see how Warmachine weapons translate over... I might have to pick up an eHoarluk club

They already announced this, technically. They even had Quicksilver(Stryker's Sword) at Gencon.

For those wondering, you can smack your friends with it without worry of damaging it or them, latex LARP weapons are quite tough.

I think this is really cool. I wish GW would do anything close to what PP does with paraphernalia (patches, shirts, now replica weapons) but I can't help but think this would have been better served once their got their supply issues more under control. I realize they're outsourcing this, but I fear Privateer may be getting their fingers in too many things while they're already having trouble with inventory.

Their weapons look silly enough in heroic scale. PP's approach to weapons is one of the weakest aspects of their sculpting - the swords on their models look like surfboards. Still, it's a clever marketing ploy. As someone else remarked, GW ought to do this - I'm sure they would sell bucketloads of life-sized bolters and chainswords.

Replicas are cool and all if you can find a place to display them. I've had a replica sword from FF X-2 that I have yet to take out of the box haha. I want two of Xerxis' maces.

They did actually with archeons blade but it was no where near the promised size nor was it cheap. I used to own one.

I know it is often the cool thing to bash PP around here, but I like the fact that PP does stuff like this that is unexpected and not simply following in the tracks of GW.

I won't be buying one, but I like that they aren't simply putting out 40K clone models and trying to RIP GW's IP as their main objective...

I am so happy PP is once again taking care of players of their other game so well.

I don't play PP, but I want one of those.

I would also like a Khador Drago costume, while they're at it.

They're really not. You can't use them with standard sword holders(dents the latex, which ruins the paint).

Depends on the weight, not the size.

When I bought my 42" Latex sword(note, that's tip to tip, hilt and pommel included) a few years ago, it cost me ~$52 USD(37 GBP) shipping from Britain to New Orleans. IIRC, Artyfakes is also UK based.

Latex foam is slightly heavier than the foam the NERF melee weapons use. My Latex longsword is about 2 lbs heavier than my NERF longsword(y'know, the one that looks like a power sword).

Not quite sure how you misconstrued that as "bashing;" it wasn't. I wish GW would do some of the things Privateer does. However, I think they should get a better handle on the inventory of their main game before they begin to diversify too much. They have a lot of "hey this is cool" moments that seemingly stop at one instance of the product. See: action figures, large scale resin sculptures; boardgames. That's all. I'm glad the first one they're doing is cygnar. That way if this happens I'll at least have my massive Stryker sword hanging above my desk (though I can't help that smaller desktop sized replicas ala Slideshow collectibles would have been more profitable....)

That would be why they're licensing another company to make 'em, instead of doing it in house.

Seeing Matt Wilson at GenCon with Stryker's sword definitely made me want one and the quality of it (from what I could see) was very nice.

I so want Amon Ad-Raza's Obliveon.
