Hope noone posted this before - couldn't find this info in other Nrcron threads on Dakka.
A polish portal Cytadela.pl posted very interesting news today, lemme translate the Necron related part that for ya:
(...) Some time ago I mentioned that new Necrons will appear in upcoming White Dwarf - I just got a confirmation of that info from a reliable source! (...)
In the upcoming WD you will see some new units:
- Triarch Pretorians/Lychguard - think Ushabti with Grey Knight-like spears / glavies
- new Immortals
- new Destroyers
- Deathmarks - Necron snipers
- new HQ'a / characters - Overlord and Cryptec, those will be in finecast
- Command Barge - with a Lord on the throne
Take this with grain of salt, yadda, yadda, yadda...
What's important is that these rumors are new and seem to get a long with what we've heard before.
Fingers crossed. The hour of the Necrons is imminent! Let the harvest begin!!!
EDIT : My mistake on wording - "upcoming WD" not "October's WD" - was tired when writing this down so I made a mistake, sorry.

sucks about the destroyers since I have many of them.
I would politely disagree with that. When you see the price of the new ones it will likely make you appreciate what you have already purchased at more reasonable prices long ago.

Not good news, will likely be quite expensive and maybe not too good in quality. Like with Ogre Kingdoms, I may have to make my own characters from the regular plastic kits.

I like how you can infer "expensive and poor quality" just by the fact that the will exist and be in finecast.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.
I like how you can infer "expensive and poor quality" just by the fact that the will exist and be in finecast.
Ogre Kingdoms characters are a minimum of $38 US each, some as high as $57.75. The least expensive single Finecast models for Ogres is $24.75, that adds up fast if you want a unit of Gorgers or Maneaters. The arguably best looking Ogre Finecast, Firebelly, has major mold and casting issues. Yes, I infer a lot from their most recent major release because their most recent release provides physical evidence of what their models are like and what they cost. Funny what you can learn by paying attention to facts.
I don't see any less problems with Finecast now than I did when it was first released. Besides being for the most part terribly expensive even compared to the metal models it replaced, it is still necessary to open every package of it in the store before leaving because the need for exchanges is just as common now as it was the week they rushed it into stores. Quality control on what goes out of the warehouse is still a HUGE issue. I see complaints and exchanges all the time. I've been avoiding buying much of it, but the last set I bought just a week ago had a broken piece and the store manager graciously opened another to get me a replacement. The week before I watched them play "musical boxes" trying to get a good quality cast of a certain model for another customer. Certain models are bad every time because there are clearly flaws in the mold, yet GW continues to crank them out without first correcting the problem.
And again, with a few exceptions Finecast models are even more expensive than their older metal equivalents. In many cases, significantly more so.
Funny how on this forum if someone says anything nice about GW they are an "apologist" and any criticism is met with an accusation of being a "hater". Believe it or not, some of us fall in neither category, we like their products, but criticize where there is a rational cause for doing so.

And yet probably not that surprising really. No army release these days passes without a new monstrous infantry type kit. I am curious to see how they're going to shoehorn one in when they swing around to Space Marines. Mini-dreadknights perhaps?

And they're making the Necrons kinda like every other army out there, so that the spam list someone plays with in Space Marines can be used for the Necrons, too.

Calling Necrons MEQ may be more relevant than ever. The range really did need more diversity for modeling and game play interest, but if they end up being too similar in play to other armies with transports it will definitely create a new kind of boredom with the Necron range.
At least we don't have long to wait to find out now. Hopefully there's enough cool stuff there to make them more interesting than ever.

Indeed. Methinks this is just a recut sprue jobby (possibly with Lord bits too) rather than a complete redesign of the model. I may be wrong though.
Destroyer Lord, both Destroyers and Immortals used all share the same upper body at the moment.
Since they are said to be re-doing Immortals -> I belive we will see new "upper part" of the Destroyers to match that. Think the lower body aka. hoover platform will remain the same.
I'm afraid that they might scrap Destroyer Lord :( Like it would be getting replaced by that Command Barge / Charriot whatever - the Lord's personal vehicle.
One combined Destroyer kit (making all variants, although not all equipment options) makes a lot of sense.
+1 to the 'please don't make Necrons too Meq-ish' comment - we need a seriously alien army that looks and fights like no other race. 'TK in Space' wouldn't be completely terrible as a look, but I'd like to see a little more originality...

Huh? Immortals and Destroyers don't share the same torso. Destroyer bodies are bigger than Immortal ones. Although you can make adequate Immortals out of Destroyer torsos put the conversion next to the original and the difference is somewhat noticeable. If anything I'd say the redone Immortals will look more like the current Destroyers.

You are kidding right?
You mean the Necrons that are supposed to be losing their Space Marine like save (3+), as well as being cheaper, WBB, worse in close combat etc. are actually Space Marines and just like every other army out there? even though they are more resilient than almost every army and ranged-focussed? Good thing my space wolves are grey, they can now be matt-finished Necrons...
