A thread for those of us who have purchased tickets and are attending and what playing:

Thursday night: No gaming
Friday: WHFB Big Brawl
Saturday: WHFB Championships
Sunday: No gaming during the day (wander around and demos to be played), mixer and poker in evening

Will be a loooong trip to get there and hopefully I can avoid days and days of jet lag but after talking to a couple Aussies who made it last year I am really, really looking forwards to it.

Also the wife wants me to buy clothes in Chicago on my thursday sightseeing/shopping trip.

Also want to make it to a walmart - seems an odd thing to do but we don't have them in Oz and I want to see one.

Thursday night: help set up (a great activity, WG, and one that is free to participate in!)
Friday: 40k Championships
Saturday: 40k Team Tourney
Sunday: staff the Gladiator, clean-up, and play poker

I'm in!

Thursday night: No gaming - hoping to meet and greet as many Dakka Dakka types as possible...
Friday: Black Library Conference (Just because, plus to demand a proper sequel to LEGION!), walk around, more meet and greet + shopping at FW!
Saturday: 40K Team Tournament
Sunday: 40K Combat Patrol, After Party/Mixer/Poker!

Thursday: Most likely help set up
Friday: 40K Champs
Saturday: Team Tournament
Sunday: Hopefully 40K Finals, if not, nursing a hangover!

Though it was induced by illness last year, dropping out of the 40k GT at the last second yielded a pretty f un time ...

as such, I'll be playing in the 40k TT, and otherwise participating in a wide variety of handshaking and socializing and all that jazz.

Does the "VIG" upgrade seem worth it to you guys?

This year I have a newborn son and a demo board commission, so I have very little free time leading up to the event.

Thursday: Help set-up (no gaming)
Friday: FOW EW tournie, possibly Legends of the High Seas tournie in evening
Saturday: (maybe) Combat Patrol, running Necromunda tournie in evening
Sunday: nothing

I think next year I may run both the Necromunda tournie and possibly a Mordheim or Heavy Gear tournie...

Thursday: up in air
Friday: 40k Champs
Saturday: 2 combat patrols
Sunday: ???

Signed up for 3 days but last year I took Sunday off and it was great. But I still have yet to play combat patrol which I hear great things about so we will just have to see this year.

Once you include the raffle tickes, shirt, and glass you're looking at only $5 more for the VIG. I got it. But I was gonna get all the other stuff anyway since it's the 10 year

The Westin is completely booked on Thursday Night.....

They only have availability for Fri-Sat which is kinda a bummer. I'll be looking for a local hotel for Thursday night but this does cut into my fun since I won't be able to check into the Westin till Friday @3pm....

Maybe blocking off more rooms for just the convention might be in the card for next year.

That is bad news, and means my group is probably staying off site now...

Uhhh...I have a hobby seminar at 8am on friday...

And yea...if your event sells out it's entire room block prior to opening ticket sales to the event...might need more rooms....

I'm 50% on driving in butt early on Friday Morning.....It'd be a long day but it'd save me money and having to stay in two hotels.....I'll discuss it with the wife.

Folks, let me check with the hotel. My guess is they just need to open up more rooms on Thursday.

12 hour drive for me...Butt early would mean leaving at 8pm the night before!

I should also look into plane tickets...

Thanks Hank, I dropped you a pm, just give me a heads up if you figure anything out. I'd def. prefer to stay at the Westin (for both ease and to support the con), so if I could get all my nights there, I'd be a happy camper.

I wouldn't worry just yet guys. Let Hank look into the hotel nights. They usually budget night based on the totals from last year. We have seen a significant additional number of Thursday night bookings, so I am sure we are just hitting that theoretical limit early. They increase block allotments all the time. Hank has you covered...he abides...
