Ok, this is my rant. Yeah yeah the new codex came out, that's great. But the new codex is missing a very important unit. The Necron Pariahs. I want them back. I dont care how they do it as long as it reasonably resembles the old Pariahs. Make them some Crypteks project or something... whatever. Bring them back. Not only was it a cool and unique-ish unit, but they were pretty expensive models (like $12-13.00 per model) for GW to just toss them in to the trash like that.

So who is with me. Let's bring'em back! If you agree, give me a +1 or a thumbs up or something!

It is not the fact that I have these models and nothing to do with them, it is the fact that I WANT PARIAHS BACK! I don't want proxies, I want Pariahs. Get it?

What exactly did Pariahs do that Lychguard don't? If you want to play them as Lychguard without reanimation protocols that sounds about right

They can't give you those back they have I3. Would break every necron army....

I use my 5x pariah models to be my regular "lords" and it works just fine for me. Yes they don't have the "pariah rules" from 3rd edition, but they saved me $100 to buy 5x lord finecasts.

I think i can settle with 10 lychguard, after all, there like better versions of them anyway to me.

Just use them as Lychguard or Necron Lords with Warscythes. They have the relevant wargear and are thus WYSIWYG, so I don't see any problem.

No, we get what you're saying - and I think most , if not all would agree the Pariah fluff was pretty awesome... but it's not going to happen. They aren't going to FAQ a whole new unit, so just roll with the punches.

They're still far from useless models.

I'm a bit more upset about my 15x destroyers and 6x heavy destroyers that got a very nominal "upgrade" (depends how you look at it), that is unless 6th edition says "preferred enemy applies to shooting as well", then I'll be happy

TBH, it's a shame they scrapped Pariahs.

They were an unique unit. So stop saying they just changed into Lychguard. The only thing they have in common are Warscythes and both being overpriced (talking about points not cash).

If there is one thing that current Nacron Army is missing (I'm very pleased with overall changes and new codex) - it's a proper anti-psyker unit. And that's exactly what Pariahs were...
Lowering LD to 7. Screwing up Psykers by getting 6" near them. Fearless. Add a Cryptec - Harbinger of Despar - Veil them to the psykers and abuse your Abyssal Staff - that would be so awsome. But no - instead we get Lychguard. Who aren't even nearly as unique.

Not to mention that since they took "terrify" effect away Flayed Ones - they could have made them Troops. That would leave nice free spot in Elites section - one that Pariahs could fill.

I love how Pariahs are now top-tier Necron close-combat units.

I was planning on buying a few and painting them to look like they were leaking blood, something nice and gruesome. If I had known they were going to be dropped in the new codex, I would have bought them sooner.

Remember, every time you whine uselessly about a change in fluff/gameplay, your suffering is empowering us Dark Eldar.

Which, I mean. That's awesome for us. I love seeing ya'll suffer. Plus, I'm one whine post away from getting furious charge. So, I'd love to see you keep complaining. What with your chants and caps and shenanigans.

But do you really want to make us more powerful?

Whilst I don't have any Necrons (yet) I have both the new and old codexes and was suprised to see them omitted in the new one. I think it's really poor of GW to suddenly stop any particular unit after they've persuaded you to part with plenty of your hard earned cash to begin with. Damn Matt Ward! DAMN HIM! I only hope he doesn't write a new CSM codex or I'll probably find half my army redundant!

I find it hilarious that people want Pariahs now even though they were univerally panned back in the old codex. Guess it's a case of "want what you don't have". Honestly there's nothing wrong with using them for Count As. I'd more complain about losing the ability to ignore inv saves.
