Mod Note: We will not be consolidating news into this thread. Please post new previews into their own threads with the [Privateer Press] tag in the subject line.

Evening all,

To try and help tidy up N&R, can we try to keep new previews within this topic, rather than starting new threads?

Anyway, today's new preview:

Rocinante - Mercenary Character Heavy Warjack

Rocinante has served as the faithful companion for warcasters of the Damiano family for over a hundred years, and its gleaming armor is festooned with gilt scrollwork bearing such ancient family mottos as "Blood Shines Gold." In battle, the towering warjack hacks down foes with its massive battle blade or blasts them to pieces with its great cannon.

The Rocinante Character Heavy Warjack Upgrade Kit comes in a blister (PIP 41092). The Rocinante Character Heavy Warjack Upgrade Kit is NOT a complete model. Players will need a Mercenary Heavy Plastic Warjack Kit (PIP 41085) in addition to this kit. A player may field one Rocinante in a Mercenary army.

Time to drop the rest of the upcoming releases I'm aware of. I'm using the posts on Tabletop Gaming News as a base for when things are expected, and any prices quoted are taken from the same source.

January 2012
WARMACHINE MKII
PIP 32076 Protectorate of Menoth Nicia, Tear of Vengeance Character Solo (white metal) – $12.99

The widow of a proud Menite soldier, Nicia hopes only that by the time she meets her own inevitable, bloody death she will have killed enough unbelievers to join her husband at Menoth’s side. This peerless Daughter of the Flame strides through battle with lethal grace and speed, each movement gauged to bring her within striking distance. Even as she cuts through one foe, she fells another with cannon fire, wheeling her blade around for another kill. Few enemies have witnessed Nicia's murderous devotions and lived.

PIP 34083 Cryx Iron Lich Overseer Solo (white metal) – TBD

NOT YET PREVIEWED

PIP 41085 Mercenary Rover / Nomad / Mule Heavy Warjack Plastic Kit (plastic) – $34.99

Mercenary warjacks are often drawn from discontinued chassis once produced by kingdom armies. The Mule, a former Cygnaran warjack, wields a massive battle mace and an innovative steam-powered cannon packing enough explosive punch to scatter enemies like leaves. The Nomad, once a Cygnaran mainstay, has been battering enemy ’jacks with its battle blade for 150 years. The Rover was built specifically for mercenary use, and its battleaxe and shield-mounted cannon have turned the tide of many a battle. Mercenaries maintain these battle-tested machines and find them fully capable of standing toe-to-toe against any fresh from the assembly line.

This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy warjack plastic model (PIP 41085). Included are all the components to assemble one of three heavy warjack variants: Mule, Nomad, or Rover. A player may field any number of these heavy warjacks with a Mercenary warcaster.

PIP 41092 Mercenary Rocinante Heavy Warjack Character Upgrade Kit (white metal)- TBD
See post #1 for picture & fluff

HORDES MKII
PIP 73064 Legion of Everblight Throne of Everblight Battle Engine (white metal and resin) – $94.99

Towering above Everblight’s legions are nightmarish creatures of writhing tentacles made possible only through the dragon’s will and power. From their positions atop these monstrosities, sorceresses rain down blighted magic upon the enemies of their master, freezing flesh with chilling frost or bursting bodies with explosions of razor-sharp spines. Those foolish enough to engage a Throne of Everblight in hand-to-hand combat are grabbed up by the blighted horror’s tentacles and pulled into its vast draconic maw to be devoured whole and screaming.

PIP 73071 Legion of Everblight Raptors Cavalry Unit (repackaging) (white metal) – $89.99
PIP 75038 Minion Bone Swarm Light Warbeast (white metal) – $18.99

The boneswarm is an undulating mass of osseous debris given horrid life and animation by lingering necromantic energies in places where many have died. Gatorman bokors have learned to control these horrors, directing them to envelop foes in a mass of biting, toothy skulls. The bones of its slain victims are incorporated into the boneswarm itself, allowing it to heal damage and grow stronger and more resilient.

No Quarter Magazine
PIP NQ40 No Quarter Magazine #40 – $7.50

February 2012
February ‘12
WARMACHINE MKII
PIP 33074 Khador Ally Kayazy Eliminator Unit (white metal) – $13.99

The kayazy eliminators are assassins who practice their deadly trade with the finesse of the finest artists. Working in pairs, the lithe eliminators move with deft agility to conceal their silent presence. When the time comes to perform their bloody services, they do so with a grace that would seem like ease were anyone present to observe it.

PIP 33081 Khador Battle Mechanik Officer Battle Mechanik Unit Attachment (white metal) – $21.99

Battle mechanik officers are hardened combat veterans who specialize in the maintenance and battle repairs of the vaunted Man-O-War armor. Trained in the use of steam-powered armor, they rely on its protection to wade deep into the thick of battle to repair warjacks and Man-O-War alike. The mechaniks’ presence ensures no soldier’s armor becomes disabled, keeping Khador’s signature heavy infantry in the fight.

PIP 35035 Retribution of Scyrah Aspis Light Warjack (white metal) – $20.99

A marvel of Iosan force mastery, the Aspis is an unmistakable sight on the battlefield. The myrmidon is equipped to manipulate its own protective field dynamically and can catch bullets with it before they strike. A stalwart guardian of its controlling warcaster, the Aspis can smash even the largest enemies backward with blows of its force-enhanced fists to keep its master safe from harm.

HORDES MKII
PIP 71065 Trollblood War Wagon Battle Engine (resin and white metal) – $89.99

The War Wagon roars across the battlefield with the crashing sound of hooves, iron, and wood. Pulled by enormous bison, the great wagon thunders forward, crushing any foe foolish enough to stand in its path. Once in position, it brings its monstrous main gun to bear and blasts apart man and beast alike in a brutal display of raw firepower. Even the occasional miss results in enormous destruction from the staggering explosive blast.

PIP 72063 Circle Orboros Gallows Grove Solos (white metal) – $24.99

An ancient manifestation of the Devourer Wurm’s conscious will, the gallows grove flourishes on soil soaked in the blood of sacrifice and violent massacres. Possessing an unsettling approximation of sentience, these gnarled trees might vanish only to reappear where the blood flows most freely. Powerful druids of the Circle are able to feed their will into these conduits of power and then unleash it upon those marked for death. The very presence of these trees saps vitality from the living as wounds gape wide to pour blood upon the thirsty roots of their destroyers.

PIP 73057 Legion of Everblight Carnivean / Ravagore / Scythean Heavy Dragonspawn Kit (plastic) – $34.99

The warlocks that serve the dragon Everblight can call upon a myriad of dragonspawn, each a perfect engine of draconic destruction. The carnivean, an ancient and favored dragonspawn, shreds flesh, bone, and steel with its mighty claws and a shark-like maw. The ravagore emulates it progenitor’s fearsome breath by engulfing foes in gouts of blighted fire. Terrifying in its brutal simplicity, the sickle-armed scythean is another ancient breed created to single-mindedly destroy any who oppose its master’s will.

This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy warbeast plastic model (PIP 73057). Included are all the components to assemble one of three heavy warbeast variants: Carnivean, Ravagore, or Scythean. A player may field any number of these heavy warbeasts in a Legion of Everblight army.

PIP 73062 Legion of Everblight Proteus Character Heavy Dragonspawn Upgrade Kit (white metal) – $14.99

The dragonspawn Proteus is Absylonia’s greatest creation. With a mass of thrashing tentacles projecting from its horrible visage, Proteus is the dragon’s hunger given obscene form. This unnatural abomination snares its victims with its tentacles and drags them inexorably into the grasp of its waiting claws. Those ensnared die horribly as Proteus strips flesh from bone, filling the air with a bloody mist.

The Proteus character heavy dragonspawn upgrade kit comes in a blister (PIP 73062). The Proteus character heavy dragonspawn upgrade kit is NOT a complete model. Players will need a Legion of Everblight Carnivean/Ravagore/Scythean Heavy Dragonspawn kit (PIP 73057) in addition to this kit. A player may field one Proteus in a Legion of Everblight army.

PIP 74062 Skorne Archidon Heavy Warbeast (resin and white metal) – $29.99

Archidons rule the skies over the Stormlands of the Bloodstone Desert with preternatural viciousness. Hunters possessed of keen eyesight and tremendous speed, the enormous winged reptiles are known to trail small groups of nomads traveling across the wastes. Once an archidon has its quarry, it soars upward to drop its hapless victim upon the jagged stones far below before descending to feast upon the broken body. Skorne tyrants and beast handlers appreciate the survival instincts and fighting prowess of these savage beasts.

Unknown release date
PIP 35034 Retribution of Scyrah Banshee / Daemon / Sphinx Heavy Myrmidon Kit (plastic) - $34.99

Recently unleashed upon the enemies of the Retribution, House Vyre’s myrmidons were developed with distinct capabilities all their own. The Banshee emits a high-pitched wail that prevents enemy spellcasters from using their magic, while its shrieking cannon hurls enemies aside with raw sonic power. A powerful assault myrmidon, the Daemon smashes foes with its rune fists or blasts them with concentrated arcane energy from its vortex cannon. The Sphinx rends its enemies with twin force claws or uses its runespear cannon to shatter an enemy’s mystical defenses, making it more vulnerable to magical attacks.

This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy myrmidon plastic model (PIP 35034). Included are all the components to assemble one of three heavy myrmidon variants: Banshee, Daemon, or Sphinx. A player may field any number of these heavy myrmidons in a Retribution of Scyrah army.

Rocinante looks like a cross between a Mariner and a Nomad. Not bad, all in all. I might build one, though possibly the sword arm could be reposed a bit.

On a side note, what's with Aspis doing on there? I was under the impression it had been released (also I've asked for one as a Christmas prezzie!) in October as the webstore it's being ordered from (here) lists there being 10 in stock.

I was working off the details on Tabletop Gaming News, Grimtuff, which had it listed as a January release. Having said that, Maelstrom Games don't have it listed within their Retribution section at all (which is odd, as the Battle Mechanik Officer and Kayazy Eliminators are listed). Wayland Games have it listed as a pre-order, though with no confirmed date.

The Warstore are claiming that Ole' Bowling Ball Hands is due out on Feb 8th, which sounds about right.

I would suspect that shop is either a, taking pre-orders without saying so; b, mistaken; or c, lying.

Really like Rocinante and Rover more then the other two (Mule and Nomad resculpt).

What I am wondering is how hard would it be to use the cannon arm and the head of Rocinante on the old, metal, Nomad?

Thanks for doing this, Dysartes!

I really, really want to like the Throne of Everblight, but I just can't. There's no need for the actual tower itself, just put the sorceress on top of her monster and it would have been fine.

Fitting the character parts on older jacks takes a bit of work but is doable. At least I've seen it done with the Cryx jacks, couldn't tell you for sure as none of the stuff you want to use is out yet. Getting the head to fit seems to be the key detail though as the new sockets are larger than the old so I takes some carving.

It requires you to keep up on the thread, even when its a bunch of pages of "i like this" or "i don't like this", just to see the new stuff that might be added.

Flip side with multiple individual threads is you end up with people posting the same (or very similar) comments across multiple threads, even if the model in question isn't on there.

Also, N&R gets cluttered when we have multiple threads with releases for the same company - one thread keeps things tider.

That's odd - I loaded them into the gallery to make sure we weren't using PP's bandwidth - they were the same size as the Rocinante picture on my home machine, I'm sure - but I'll confirm that this evening.

I'll be trying to keep the thread title updated with the latest update, with a page & date reference, so you should be able to jump straight to it. I could even add links to the first post, if that would make matters easier.

Any particular reason for that, malfred? If there's a workable alternative (without using multiple threads), I'm happy to look at it.

Moving on-topic - I can't help but think that Rocinante, like most of the current wave of upgrade kit characters, suffers from the format. It is still a nice model, but there is so much more that could have been done with him...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The plastic Warpwolf kit just went up for preview:

PIP 72057 Circle Orboros Feral / Pureblood / Stalker Warpwolf $34.99

Warpwolves are humans that have been transformed into savage beasts well suited for battle. The druids of the Circle Orboros use the vicious feral warpwolves to strike their enemies hard and fast, unleashing them to sow death and discord with tooth and claw. Contrastingly, the white-furred purebloods cut swathes through the enemies of Orboros with measured ferocity and bone-shattering howls. Retaining some portion of their human intellects, the sword-wielding stalkers are stealthy killers that prowl behind enemy lines and strike without warning.

This box set contains three color stat cards and one multi-part heavy warbeast plastic model (PIP 72057). Included are all the components to assemble one of three heavy warbeast variants: Feral, Pureblood, or Stalker Warpwolf. A player may field any number of these heavy warbeasts in a Circle Orboros army.

The reason is finding information in a megathread sucks. And
if the megathread has lots of different TYPES of things in
it, then good luck. In addition, megathread titles often tell
you to jump to a particular page to read updates, but hopping
around like that only makes things worse.

I'm all for the multi-threads on this one. Simply flag and link
dupes and let things sort themselves out that way. Digging
through a megathread sucks.

They look fine now on my work PC- I'm not sure if you had the "small" versions from the Dakka gallery (as it gives you different options to display them on the forum, I usually use medium) or if it was on my end.

About the plastic warpwolf kit- I understand the need for them to go to plastic, and I can appreciate it, and even enjoy working with plastic more. But I still went out and bought all the metal Dire trolls I could and don't plan to get any plastic ones other than Rok, assuming he's an upgrade kit for the plastic kit.

Also agree that two of the warpwolves are improvements, but there's no improving on that Beautiful metal sculpt of the pureblood.

Hoping the Lightning Troll is metal! (It likely is, since I don't think it's going to be part of a multi-kit)

Turned out I'd saved the wrong versions down, so I grabbed the larger versions when I was adding the links this evening.

I'm certainly glad the Feral won't be quite so limp-wristed once this kit comes out - he's always looked slightly camp to me.

I'm waiting to see an official preview of the Dire Troll kit before I make up my mind - I've got 2 metal Maulers, but haven't gotten around to a Blitzer or Bomber yet. We'll see...

Hoping the Lightning Troll is metal! (It likely is, since I don't think it's going to be part of a multi-kit)

I haven't heard anything indicating it might be plastic - and the "pylons" on his back in the pics within Domination look pretty cool.
