I am considering switching from 40k to Fantasy and my chosen army is the Vampire Counts.
However, looking at the Vampires models only one really appeal to me.

Does anyone out there know of any alternate Vampire Models?
Thanks.

Almost anything can be a Vampire, just paint them pale, maybe chop off obviously non-Vampire symbols and markings, maybe a little bloody around the lips and you're good.
Sigvald the Magnificent is a popular one. So are Dark Elf Sorceresses.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

VC are supposed to be coming out in Jan, so assuming they do, there may be a new model that strikes your fancy. Also, maybe hold off on getting the book.

If you specifically want GW vampire models, it's the one part of the range GW haven't really developed. There's some nice models from the old 6th edition release - I'm quite fond of the Lahmians. But for an army which is personalised purely around its characters, they are criminally lacking. As said, next month Vampire Counts are getting a new book, some new toys, and according to Harry over at Warseer, a few new female vampires. But the rumour clampdown has been tight, and we may get more. Wait for that release, and if there's still nothing to your liking, you might need to convert a few vampires or shop around for alternates.

Here's the link to a 70+ page VC rumor thread: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319999
Do yourself a favor and only bother reading the first page. The rest is a bunch of hoping for more rumors. GW has put a serious lock on rumors though, thats why we are this close to Jan and there's no leaked pics or hard info.

Don't forget the Flesh Golem things. They sound sweat.
If I were you, OP, I'd wait a month before investing in any VC.What with the new book coming... Plus you get to avoid all the 12 year olds in store buying stuff with their Christmas money, always a bonus.

Well yeah, it has been updated recently. VC is a young book compared to some others, being a 7th edition book, but they are getting a new army book next month. It's all but confirmed.
They got an update a couple of months ago with the Terrorgeist and hero Banshees and Wraiths - kind of a teaser for the new book.

Hmm... I looked at the White Dwarf leak and it clearly states that the new codex is coming out January 14th but if you can prove me wrong please do so.

Gamezones Mournful Knights are the go-to models for standin Blood Knights for everyone who can't afford them (which, to be fair, is just about everyone). They really are nice models.
Personally, I've been after mounted female knights for a while (to make Lahmian 'Blood Knights'), which are significantly more difficult to find.

I agree that good Vampires are hard to find, and good female ones are even harder to find.
Avatars of War has a female on foot, but no mounted one.

Reaper has a couple - I think 3 very unique looking mounted female knights. The problem is also finding models to convert into a standard and a musician.

They''re not bad, but they harken back to the day when von Carsteins went to battle looking like they were going to the opera. I like the new von Carsteins, which actually wear badass armour, and wield swords that look like swords (seriously - Vlads and Mannfreds swords are two of the best swords GW have ever done).

I agree that the cutless esque swords are the best looking swords from GW. Now if only the models they were on were better.
