Hiya Dakka!

I was just wondering what your ideal point limit for games is. I know that at my local club the standard point limit is 1850, but that's still just a tad too much for my liking. My ideal game would be around 1500-1000, I simply like smaller games. I would rather play multiple small games opposed to one large game (unless it was apoc large). So what's your number Dakka?

P.S. Also, while we're here, what's too many points to play with?

I prefer 1500-1750 point games but couple of my friends like to play around 2000 point games.

3000 points with one FOC or without apoc rules starts to be a bit too much in my opinion.

I like to play just about anything, small strike squads of 500-750pts, and in our LGS we play 3v3 4,000pts games, it takes bout a week to finish.

So make yourselves ready. We are the First Kronus Regiment, and today is our Victory Day."

1000-1500 point games generally, just due to the fact that I don't have all the models needed for 1750-2000 yet.

I like a wide range of game sizes depending on the situation. I enjoy the 750-1000 point games a lot right now because it goes faster and your able to use more tactics. Once you hit the 2500 point range you don't have a lot of room to manuvar around and then it becomes a slug fest. Both game types are fun but they are inherently different games.

2k is the general sweet spot I like. Enough points to bring plenty of fun toys, not so many points as to make most of them them individually meaningless.

I like 2500 for my games. But I spend all of saturday at the game store as my wife has to work so I can get in about three to four 2500 point games in a day.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

I prefer 1500 since it forces you to make decisions on what to bring, but the most common level at my FLGS is 2k since that's the point level our tournaments are at.

I generally play 1500 or 2000pt games, but I'm happy with 500-4000 on one FoC in standard games.

2000 points is a nice limit for me, but I do enjoy a smaller game. At 2000, it's nice being able to take all (or at least some) of your extra toys and not have them take up half the army.

I like the 1500-1750 limit.

That way, you're forced to choose your units more carefully than say 200pts but still have some tactical flexibility.

1500 to 2000 points. Gives a good balance between "Choosing units carefully" and "Taking cool toys", with 1500 being more towards the tough choices and 2000 the taking cool toys.

1750 and above for me. Tyranid MCs are so overpriced that it makes 1500 point games tougher. Plus, I painted all this stuff, I like to use it.

It's really hard to run either my Sternguard-heavy Crimson Fists or mech Iron Warriors to their full effect in a game under 1850. I like going up to 2000, beyond there can still be fun with the right opponent.

<1500 points is just for teaching people how to play the game or for team games. 1500 points makes for fun, compact, really short games. I like tournaments to be at least 1750-1850. 2000 is most convenient size since everyone in my area carries an army that size. I really enjoy 2250 point games because I get to run my DC, DC Dreadnought, and my DC Stormraven. I'd even do 2500 for 'Ard Boyz, but anything above that is just too much.

1500-2000 is my usual game face lists, have fun but aim to win.

2500+ (Up towards Apocalypse) starts to become a Beer and Pretzels game mind set for me and my opponents.

Honestly, having 10 Lych Guard with sword and board just stride through a 30+ mob and only loose 2 guys, only too eye up the warboss, for kicks.

I love huge games, apocalypse being my favorite game type. There are few things better than fielding every model I own across 3 forces and watching it annihilate all that stand in its way.

For standard games, 2k seems about right but bigger is almost always better. I have been known to enjoy a 500 pt game every now and then, though. I field 60 orks, you get 15 space marines, let me know how that works out for ya...
