Ok so my guard scheme is mostly urban grey with green. With these guys I was going for a dark olive drap look for the bdu's while still keeping the same look for the shoulder pads as the rest of my army. I plan on running them with forward sentries and or demolitions. Not always a good way to spend points but its fluffy. They're basically a recon element dropped behind enemy lines tasked with like blowing up enemy op's or disrupting supply lines and stuff. I made sure to give them a lot more gear than my normal guardsmen so they look like they could operate independantly of the main force. The only downside to the old sentinel pilot heads is that they all look very similar, not much I can do there.

I've included links to my dakka gallery if you feel like rating the paintjob/coolness

Love them, they look fantastic- the rim colour is a bit sickly for my liking.

I find it really interesting how the rim colour changes the whole feel of the squad. It makes everything feel greener. Video Haley. Kind of looks like they are selected units in an rts. Pretty neat.

Great job overall. No critisizms from my end.

Those look great, however the base color is too distracting IMO. Think muted earth tones. They work a lot better I think.

Your painting is really good and you could even keep the green bases, just maybe tone it down a notch.

That was my first reaction to the green base rims. They look as though they've units in an RTS that've been selected by the cursor god.

Nice use of the old sentinel pilot heads. Like their look!

good job! But if I can tell my hopinion if gave them black bases rather than green they will look better! the black is neutral enough to mix them with the battlefield!

The models are amazing, but the green base kinda puts me off.

The thing with having a bright coloured base it that it draws the attention away from the modles and onto the base. Because your models are styled to be dark, the base draws away from the models even more.

Please repaint the base, but other than that, amazing work!

Keep it up

wide angle lens (that's why its so distorted) at a high aperture (f/11 or f/16) to keep as much of the army in focus as possible. For the background I just cut everything out in photoshop and then replaced it with a blue to white gradient.

Finished a few more models to help round off the unit's options. They needed a sniper, mostly just for coolness factor. I made a few more sgt's, the first has an old school bionic arm and a shotgun on his backpack, the other's rockin a powerfist and a meltabomb just for the hell of it. I made a dude with a demo charge in case I wanna run them with demolitions. Last and certainly least is my failed sgt harker, I really gotta learn how to do greenstuff. I also got some shots of these guys from a recent 40k game.

here's a link on dakka if you're kind enough to rate the painting/coolness

Cool cool.I like the crazy green on the bases.Although it drowns out the paint job a bit.at the same time it make the army stand out as a whole.

Great looking army! That's a lot of IG, and a great looking table. The paint scheme reminds me of Hydra uniforms from older Captain America comics, and that's a good thing!

I love the colour scheme.
In my opinion the bases look cool, they are nicely tied in with the highlights on the models.
