Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

Aye, though anyone unfamiliar with the series will be agonising over controls

What are you guys fav builds, guns legs etc?

I love using reverse jointed legs with weapon arms, especially the machine gun arms. Back weapons mostly go for uber radars or missiles.

I'm a mix. Either I enjoy a really balanced mech, medium weight, standard medium legs, a blade, some missiles, a gatlign gun and a rifle - covering all aspects of combat with decent mobility and defence.

OR

Lightest fastest damn mech I can with 2 blades and infinite airtime.
In ACFA my prefered AC was my Pindrop - Which is about as light as you can get - with 2 moonlights.
Cruising speed was about 300, top speed over 700, infinite cruise, about 1-2 seconds to recharge power.

So long as I can still make my infinite fliers and have laser swords I'll be happy

Oh man, I haven't played an AC game since Last Raven. I didn't know another one was coming out! I'll have to check it out...

I normally used a middle weight AC with Machine Gun, blade, small missiles, and the super radar. I would make a Heavy AC for AC-to-AC combat, but I normally stuck to light/middle weight.

Can you put guns on both hands still? Or is it back to gun in left hand, blade/shield in right?

It's been both hands ever since they first implemented it. We also have extra shoulder slots now for things like link missiles and ecm rockets.

And theres the whole new weapon type they are adding in V, which looked like a giant quad blade glowing chansaw.

I hope that the PS3 (and games) drops dramatically in price by the time the PS4 is released so that I acn get this in the next few years lol...

Sony said they aren't working on a replacement for the PS3 at CES. Not sure what that means but there you have it.

I actually didn't mind AC's controls. I thought they worked fairly well. I played AC4 but there just wasn't that much to do with the game so I got bored pretty fast.

I love the controls, but a lot of newbies seem to get completely nuts about them. Though it was worse with the older games in the series, where you had to aim with shoulder buttons and such.

Dont' mind me, I think the last of the series I played was silent line...

You're doing better than me. The last one I played was Last Raven!

The last one I played was probably 4 years ago so I have no idea which one that was. I always ran with the heaviest legs I could and carried missiles on missiles with missiles. Maybe a gun if I was doing one of the duels against the AI.

I played someone like you on one of the brief occasions I ventured into the online vs matches.

Game start:
Roughly 300 missiles appear - stop 20-30 with flares, dodge about 20, I explode.

When I played four I packed nothing but a pair of rifles and focused on speed. Those I couldn't kill I annoyed the hell out of

I favoured middle weight AC:s, equipped with twin machine guns, a missile launcher and light cannon. Also some missile misguiders.

A good all- arounder was nice on fighting against any enemies who came past. Later on AC4 I started using the twin laser cannons "angel wings". Not really worth it, but with two semi automatic machineguns it is a truly danhgeroys AC

I loved Silent Line which IMHO had the best controls and story.

I either go medium build with the biggest damn cannon I can fit on them, with extra ammo (that usually takes all the weight I can handle) or a small lightweight build with the fastest machine gun I can get and missiles up the wazzoo

Well I am sure I will pick this up, I have played all the rest of them.

Probably go the route of heavy mech with as many weapons as possible.

Always fun when you ammo counters hit 0 and your not done yet ... O.O

That game actually gave me nightmares, twice.

There is a cliff and bridge on the other side
Jumps
AC's head bumps below the bridge, cant get on it
Thruster runs out of energy

Ah yes, always fun, running out of energy at moments like that.

I wonder if the huge ass bosses from the last 2 games are still in.

And the worst thing that can happen..

YES totaly getting S rank on this mission, only 2 enemies left!

Looks like they toned the speed down A LOT.

This makes me sad and happy at the same time.

Love the new dual function HUD though.

I've been watching this one for a long time, cant believe its almost here!

I look forward to destroying all you vets that are going to walk into this with similar builds as used in previous games (infinite airtime built, lightning fast melee build, itano-circus missile madness, etc.), if the game delivers what the devs have promised, this is going to be a slower-paced tactical mech game (mechs are half the size in this one as in previous installments, many of the maps are urban in nature, etc.).
