Looking at the confrontation range and saw this

Cang the Implacable

Easily the best dragon mini i have ever seen. Its resin with the rider being optional and metal.

Its base is kick-ass and the detail looks amazing. It took the sculptor 3 months straight to complete. The whole thing is two feet tall.

Price Tag 300$

Titan Dragon

And then we have this guy. Ive seen him before and didn't think much then.
To me he seems ugly and misshapen and he comes with no base and no rider,The amount of resin put into Cang would be a great deal more i would bet and Cang has about ten full pics and we only get 2 of the titan dragon and one small close-up of the end of its face, WE NEVER EVEN SEE ITS BACK!

Price Tag-300$

To me there is no comparison as Cang is proably the only model of that cost i would consider buying. In fact if i had the cash i would get one.
I wouldn't buy the titan dragon for 100$ let alone the 300$ he costs. I just very much dislike its style.

What do you think?

It not like CMoN, get the models for free then set the price.

The Dragon Titan is taller than 7-8 inches. I have one and it is a very pretty model. Cang looks pretty damn good too. The thing I don't like about Cang is the right front leg. It looks far too much like a human arm with some scales, and it just throws me off a bit.

I'd still buy one if I could afford it, because I'm a sucker for dragons.

Buy a different dragon then. Honestly you're not being forced to pay these prices, dragons are fairly generic things as you've just demonstrated. One is very much like another.

I need a Cang just to have something to strive towards in my painting skills. Easily beats out the Heresy and Ultraforge dragons, and I love those both.

Wow @ Cang the Implacable . I've never seen that one before, but it looks amazing!

The other I wasn't as impressed with, but I'd rather focus on the one that I think is other-worldly...

Wow, that Cang model is quite sexy.

However, after getting the D&D red dragon I've no real urge to ever throw down 100+ dollars on a dragon model again

I like both dragons. If I had to choose one to buy, it'd be the first.

But if I could afford to buy two, I'd buy one of each rather than two of the first.

They're different visions of what a dragon should be, and the
Confrontation dragon is very Confrontation. Cang is not
Confrontation and would not scratch that itch to collect
something from Confrontation.

But I agree with you in some respects. If I had to buy one, it'd be Cang.

I'd go with Cang also, I've been drooling over him for a while now but it's way out of my price and spare time range.

really though I don't see any big deal with the prices... in a hobby where folks spend even more on a warhound or other titan from FW and use it maybe twice... If you love the model and can afford it, buy it and enjoy

I don't really like that Cang doesn't have a neck to speak of. In my mind, dragons should really have long sinuous necks. Other than that it's a very awesome model. The titan's good too, but I think it could use a bit of thickening up in the body. Head seems a bit large too I guess.

Both dragons look fine to me.

Dragons are mythical creatures, and as such, have no established anatomy. Anatomy is strictly up to the whim of the artist. Having said that, the Titan looks pretty bad, and I wouldn't pay 100 bucks for him. Cang looks great, but I wouldn't pay 300 bucks for him either.

No kidding. How's this: I think the short neck makes for a worse-looking model than a longer one would.

The first is a very impressive dragon and worth the price if you're in the market for that kind of FW-level expensive and eye-catching centerpiece. The second dragon... not so much. Either way, a free market will determine if it's worth the CMON price. If people don't buy it, it'll either just disappear or, more likely, drop in price to something more reasonable with time.

Or, if it's a limited run, they'll just keep it at that price until all
the Confrontation starved folks buy it up.

I must disagree

He looks small and is metal.

There is no 'Real' Dragon

Cang Mimics this guy (in the face at least)

While the heresy dragon mimics the mainstream Western Dragon

Now, the heresy dragon is something I'd actually consider buying. I like those proportions a LOT better than either of the other two.

I'm not really seeing it.

I'd love to see a scale shot between the Heresy one and Cang. The heresy one isn't quite as tall all told, but it looks a bit bulkier to me, is a lot wider, and Cang has a lot of base and wing.

As a collector of resin figures of various different types for the last 8 years I can tell you price is very subjective. Stuff that looks expensive can be very reasonable and stuff that looks simple and plain can be very cost prohibitive.

There is really no rhyme or reason for the pricing, its pretty much just what the artist/owning company wants to charge. If you want it, you suck it up and buy it doesn't matter if its $50 or $300. Thats the roll we all play as a collector. There are lots of kits that I like but just do not have because I do not have the $300. So I find something else I like in a price range that I'm willing to spend.

Cang model is jaw dropping. If I cared about Fantasy that much, I'd build an army around that model.
