I was thinking the question: What unit do you think is the most Overpowered Unit of all time? There are plenty of overpowered units in every edition of this game but which one do you think takes the cake.

Squat Bikers in Terminator Armour sounds scary.

Virus Grenades (Is that what they were called? I can't remember) One of those could wipe out pretty much every infantry unit on the table, it was actually pretty funny.

I've heard of Vortex grenades, which bounce arround the table and vaporize anything they touched, basicly able to take down a whole army by itself (and this was back in 2nd edition where a whole army was pretty small)

Virus and Vortex grenades were OTT.

The most overpowered thing in the current edition? The GK.

Terminators with Storm Shields and Thunder Hammers?

Old 3rd edition Pariah, when a squad of those bastards hit the table you KNEW gak was going down. It was ridiculous how scary they were really. Warscythes, Guass Blasters, they even struck at I3! The world no longer is as afraid of the Necrons as once they were but I know some of my friends still tremble at the very word... Pariah. Thank the Lord they are gone, for now

Yeah, the other team is the army fighting the tau.

Basically, the non-tau army shoots Aun'va and the tau army twins with their flippers between their legs

TH/SS Termies are absolutely nothing compared to the old C'tan. The old Nightbringer? If WS 6, Str 10, Toughness 8, 5 wounds, and 5 attacks isn't enough, it can leave combat whenever it wants. It ignores armor and invulnerable saves (what storm shields?). Ignores difficult and dangerous terrain. You have to pass a Ld test just to assault it.

I wasn't actually playing during this time, but my friends tell me that Eldar Harlequins were simply broken during 4th edition (or maybe 3rd?). When you could consolidate into combat and rending applied to the to-hit rolls. They would enter combat on turn 2, and proceed to wipe out anything they touched...consolidate into another unit and wipe them out on the opponent's turn. Then on their turn, they would charge another unit and repeat. Or at least that's what I've heard.

I bolded the part you got wrong. The nightbringer cannot leave combat when it wants. That ability belongs to the deceiver.
Also, they both only have a 4+ invul. That means that they die really easily against poison weapons and hi S weapons.

Completely true about 4th ed combat rules. I once wiped out half a tau army with my flayed ones. I just kill a whole FW team, and consolidate into the next one.
