Nice idea, and models so far.
Does your camera have a macro mode? It focuses on individual part of the picture, but can leave the picture looking grainy.

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.
Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.
After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right. |

Thanks! I'm thinking about doing a few bots that look like smaller XV88s, where the Meks wanted to copy the big gunz, sort of like how the stompas were created after seeing titans.

I think that if you were to Ork-ify some Legio Cybernetica stuff, you may want to look into combining a Servitor and an Ork. Like the Mek decided to use the Humie tech on some orks just to see what happens. Or at least I would try and stay away from using Space Marine Bitz. They're too identifiable as Space marine than anything else. I would suggest looking at different Admech blogs on here.
They look good, I just think they need to look less like Space Marines.

I think i'll swap out the heads for something better, but I've always wondered if a curious mek would scrap power armor for a creation...
I think it'd be hilarious to fool marines with power armor, until it'd be too late to realize that they're "ork bots." Automatically Appended Next Post: Brotheralexos wrote:combining a Servitor and an Ork.

Wow! It's been a long time since I've updated. Well, better late than never!
Here's a test model for my variant scheme for Numenorians. I'm going to run the men with Isildur and have them ally with Elves. Maybe Elrond leading them?
I apologize for some poor photo quality. I'm still working on improving, but I finally learned to use macro mode!
Here's the Front:
The Back:
Here's Isildur:
I really like this model, so I want him to be in the force, despite the broken blade that he came with (form the Sauron set).
Thoughts?

Isildur there just looks like he's defeated, defending himself with his sword, which is appropriate for his defiance of the Dark Lord or as an objective, but I'm not seeing him as commander material. Perhaps instead if you use the standing model as your commanding Isildur. The Numenor model, from what can be seen, looks promising, even if shiny armour and a red cape may seem a little commonplace for a lot of LotR forces out there.

On Isildur - I really don't like his static pose, but really, the laying down one isn't good either.
On the color of the men - I picked red to mix it up, as I usually do a lot of blue models, but red does seem to be common now. I think I'll do a variety of colors (one or two a day) and post them on here. Then, I'll do a poll to decide which color wins out.

Here are two more colors, the fronts are very similar, but the cloak color is the most important to me.
For some reason, I can't get a poll on here, so I'll do it this way.
Please comment with which color is the best for the models and why.

I agree, I like the blue cloak the best of the three. The green would be my second choice, and the red would be last.

I had no idea of this blog! :O shame on me.
To bad about the couples of pics that where out of focus.
But good thing you have more pics
Of the three I would also go with blue, it's different and you made it work.
Looking forward to more

Ok, blue it is! The captains will definitely be blue then!
And I just recieved the last of my Ork boyz in the mail. I'll be doing some posts on painting them as well (all 54 of them...). Automatically Appended Next Post: I thought I'd post some pics from my collection today.
Currently, a lot of my model are being re-painted, but here's the first model that I painted!
The Balrog of Morgoth! Unfortunately, he doesn't see much gameplay, but he's never failed me when do play him (though usually Balrogs aren't fun to use).
And what would be the point in playing a game of The Lord of the Rings without THE Lord of the Rings?

I highly recommend it! The old metal ones are great ( OOP unfortunately), but there must a few more out there! The only downside is that the spikes on the helmet tend to bend during transport, but it's fixable.

I like the increased detail with finecast, but I'm partially infected with the internet's negativity toward it. That and the price.
Someday I'll get some and decide for myself.

Today's Update!
The rest of the Numenorians have been painting and are currently drying.
On the subject of Orks, I've decided to switch over to Speed Freeks, mostly for my love of Battlewagons.
Here's a test model:
Unfortuanately, the teeth came out horribly. Any suggestions on that?

on the orks I would use a red coloured (forgot the name to lazy to look it up) wash on the teeth and then highlight it with bleached bone.
Be braver with bright colours, they usually suit Orks very well, but I'm sure you're aware of all of this you're far from stupid.
I would just say, play around with brighter colours, try putting in some details (like making the eyes black and the nails some colour). For the weapon you could try using codex grey as a undercoat, wash it with badab black or devlan mud and dry brush it gently with silver (a tip with dry brushing (if you need it) is to use the brush on your hand and if its to wet it will show on your skin and you simply dry it up a bit more) after that just use the same wash again.
hope this was useful ^^ and i'm sorry if it wasn't.
I like your model though, orks are cool.

Finally, an update!
I've been gaming with a friend who plays Tau.
3 games total (We're playing 5th ed and doing the campaign that was in the BRB)
Game 1: He was tabled at the top of the 4th turn
Game 2: Draw
Game 3: Draw
Here are some models I've been working on:
Up first:
Warboss Gobsmasha!
Big Mek Gitzappa! (Unfortunately, ever since I actually bought a KFF model, the KFF saves have all been failed...)
And a count-as Boss Snikrot! Unfortunately, with the new 6th ed rules forbidding assaulting after coming in from reserve, he probably will never see combat in 6th. :(
Thoughts? C&C appreciated!

Update! I've been toying around with the idea of an all-bike Ork list. Thus, I need bikes and lots of them.
Unfortunately, they're expensive (go figure). So I searched through mounds of pictures for ideas on different ways to do them.
Here's one model ( WIP):
I'm also planning on modelling after some Snazzwalkers (count as warbikes) that I saw on Games Workshops's blog.
