The new stuff looks very much like mechanized Tyranids.

"If you really want to know what it was like, to fight in the air in the great War, then go up to someone you have never met and who has never done you the slightest harm and pour a two-gallon tin of petrol over them. Then apply a match, and when they are nicely ablaze, push them from a fifteenth-floor window after first perhaps shooting them a few times in the back with a revolver. And be aware as you are doing these things that ten seconds later someone else will quite probably do them to you. This will exactly reproduce... the substance of First World War aerial combat and will cost your country nothing. It will also avoid the necessity of ten million other people to die in order for you to enjoy it."

So glad I'm not the only one who feels the same way. I think the new wraiths and spyders look way too bug-like. I've been looking into alternatives. Puppetswar has some good ones.

I actually love the stuff. I do feel it looks a little insectoid, but I also think they've got a very techno-Egyptian look, especially with the Crypteks, Overlords, and Lychguard.

Yeah, the wraiths look like mechanical raveners.

When the Necron codex came out much of it was stuff I'd love to have as a Tyranid player. Night fight, entire board dangerous terrain, etc. Who makes a planet dark with the choking spores and bodies of flying creatures? Who makes the terrain dangerous with terraforming?

I don't really see them as being that similar, but that's just me.

What's this!?

A model made to look like bugs looks like an army that looks like bugs!?

That said, I prefer the (old GW and new Puppet's War) bug design over the new GW spider-like design.

He said "bug" not "insect". Clearly a spider is a bug of the aracnid family, doesn't change that its a bug. All insects are bugs, not all bugs are insects.

I to felt there was some similarity to the tyranids tyrgon/mowlac model but if you look at the old school wraith model it had a bit of that feel to begin with so you 'nid armies give us necrons our model back thank you....
with all that said I personally like the look of the spyder and the triarch stalker and tomb blades look extremely nice. The spyder has a look not much different then the old look but with a bit more updated mechanical look and a lot more intimidating imo.... i do like the upgrade options for the heavy destroyer/destroyer lord models....

Talos/Cronos. Tervigon. Seeing the resemblance?

I'm not sure why this is even an issue in the first place. Why don't we all stop fighting each other and go beat on the Starcraft people for stealing 'Nids, Eldar, and Space Marines and changing all the names?

Because Blizzard has a fethload more money than GW?

And the current nids were basically stolen from StarCraft. GW's old Tyranids looked very, very different from now.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.

Tyranids aren't insects. How many insects in your world have leathery wings?

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
