Not that i know of...unit wise -

I am NOT saying it does or does not; go look at the website yourself and see if you can read the list, and what is new and what is not ....(I don't know all of them....)

Regardless of unit counts the campaign might be very cool however.

Just a huge let down when its been said that the book was supposed to include forty units. I thought that that would be maybe two dozen existing units and the rest being new. If its just old rules I really don't see the point in buying the thing (at least previous books has old rules, and a section of new ones....).

Jeez, seems like I just bought IA Apoc 2nd edition for my Tau Fliers and it's already out of date!

Guess I'll have to get this to see if I can field my Barracuda (probably) and Tigershark (probably not) outside of Apocalypse...

When will people realize that these books are published not just for "shiny new things!" but also to update older models and bring them in line with new rules sets, etc?

Anyways:
The Storm Eagle Gunship is in there, if you're only counting the "currently unpublished" stuff as new.

0.o Yeah, but they release PDFs with rules updates and new rules all the time, it'd be nice to have some content other than fluff and rules updates in the actual books. Ie oh look the rules we charged you £40 for a year ago are out of date, here but this new one for £45... I preferred the older books that actually included army lists full of new units, or at least different enough variants of them (Ie Taros/Vraks).

More interesting is that the superheavy doesn't have hull points

What you're referring to are the "Campaign books".

Those books are huge. They are not what one would generally carry with them to use one unit which isn't in the actual army list. You bring those with you when using the army lists within.

It's also worth noting that quite a few of the vehicles within here are scattered through multiple sources, while this compiles them all into one place.

they made Blight Drones fliers? That's potentially massive, as they come in squadrons of 1-3

Unless they made them anti-air, which would be weird, but still kinda cool

The pdfs they put up are only work-in-progress rules anyway. This book brings everything up to date with 6th and adds campaign ideas aimed at flyers.

Space Marine did have them as high altitude flyers, so I guess they've just pegged onto that idea and ran with it. ...And find it a cheap way to fling in another unit without having to make new models. =P

I've only just bought Imperial Armour Second edition, I cant see the point in this book apart from the two new units the Space Marine Storm Eagle Assault Gunship and the Imperial Navy Avenger Strike Fighter. But I cant pay £26 for just two new flyer rules thats madness and I wanted to buy a Storm Eagle

My suspicions were correct it seems. Its mainly old units

If FW gets lazy and doesnt release any FAQs anytime soon, their fliers will not have any official stats for Hull Points and etc (then again, so does their entire line)

Seeing as all I own of FW is IA Apoc 2nd edition, I am probably going to pick this up, if for no other reason than to look at the pretty pictures.

Also, Kan, stop changing your profile pic.! I can never tell it is you!

According to the other FAQ (Apocalypse), a Structure Point has 3 Hull Points.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

Oh ok

Well I guess really the only reason to get this is if you have very little IA books currently

Wow, way to pad the book. They stuck the Flakk turret on every Ork vehicle they make and made every one a separate datasheet.

Disappointing. The only thing in there for Tyranids is the Harridan, which I'd bet is the same as the rules in IAA Second edition.

On the one hand, there's plenty of stuff for Tau (My army.) On the other hand, the only Tau stuff that doesn't give my wallet a heart attack are the Barracuda and the Remoras. Skyray isn't getting an anti-air update despite being a FW model originally.

Love how the points costs on the entire Flakk Fortress are blurred out. Oh noes! Someone might look at the picture and never buy the book!

Yeah, I'm let down as well. Here I was expecting 40 units and here we got 47... so bummed :(

Oh wait, this is awesome.

Except as pointed out, only 2 are new. Everything else is just slightly updated

The updates are a good thing though, and it's good to have them all in one place. It's nothing on the level of the Badab War books, but it sounds useful at the very least.

Honestly, I'm still waiting until the Necron IA comes out. The only fliers i care about at the moment I have rules for (DE and Necron fliers in the codices), but I have two Tau-playing friends who might love this book.

So anyone gotten this book yet? I'm curious to see what units they've changed and how to fit in with 6e. I've already heard that the Whirlwind Hyperios has a twin linked skyfire interceptor option but not much else.

I have the book. In short, Imperials and Orks get terrible flyers (compared to their Codex offerings) and decent ack-ack, Chaos and the other Xenos get decent flyers.
