I just want to know what the mist surpriseing moment in a game was.
Mime happened last night and I was playing against leigion, his angelious had 5 damage boxes left after my cinerators charged it. I had nothing left that could charge apart from 1 choir member, he charged and hit, killed the angelious and then was proptly eaten by a rabid shredder.
Anyone else have stories like this?

Couple that come to mind:

MkI game with Baldur1 v. Lylyth2. Was just when she came out. Popped my feat. Nothing in his army was in my CTRL area and could get in due to the way it worked then. He popped his feat, and created a repeat of the fiction in Evolution.

More recent was a game against Thyra with Baldur1. More or less thought I was safe, Fire of Salvation attacks a Shifting Stone. And then at that moment it clicked in my head of, "Wait, he has Side-Step...crap." Things ended poorly.

Final most surprising thing of late was a game of Baldur2 v. Ossyan. Had put his ARM-buff on a lot of my beasts and thought I was safe since things were just tough enough to deal wiht MHSF crossbows. Ossyan's feat resulted in all my warbeasts dying. Not good.

And stuff.

Mine was when the Avatar got charged by Beast 9 in a game I had a few weeks ago. It was during some caster's feat who doubles all damage done within his control radius.

The Avatar, and my Guardian, got one shotted by Beast 9 with room to spare.

Mine? Having someone try the eCaine gatecrasher assasin feat against me and muck it up when I was using pMagnus...

It didn't end well for Caine afterwards.

Otherwise it's normally when my opponent finds out about my commodores smash on its cannonball. Typically when their units start getting thrown at their caster.

I got Gatormen Flying Circus'd today.

I feel violated...

Against Skorne

Im planning on how im going to use my feat and my units working together with a 100% new list style that im used to..

I moved up. opponet moved up, i moved up.

Malik Kharn Killed me.

4 Models died this game. I killed 2x Swordsmen and one of my own TFG, and my opponet killed my caster...

Ive never felt so dumb... I knew what he could do, i just didnt pay attention at all to it thinking of fun ways to screw with his army with my feat.

It's one of those things everyone falls for once, kind of like Ravyn & a Mage Hunter Strikeforce.

I nominate a Bane Knight that somehow fails to die in my turn, then charges Feora from behind.....quadruple 1 on the damage roll.

When I rolled triple, then double, then double ones... those dice were burned...

Good feat turn with Blaize, I get a charge against eButcher with about 15-20 focus.

And fail to kill him.

Wow most if these are terrible, anyone gave some pleasant surprises?

Earthborn Dire Troll charges Deneghra and rolls snake eyes to hit.

Then he bought another attack, and Deneghra was paste.

I had a game with eButcher tier list consisting of fenris and a sea of doom reavers against retribution.

eButcher's feat turn resulted in himself using a line of houseguard halbrediers to get to my opponent's riflemen...which he used to propel himself into my opponent's invictors...which he used to propel himself into my opponent's warcaster...which died a very fast and painless death from a single swing of butcher's axe.

In a single turn I managed to not only kill 90% of my opponent's army, but I also killed my own heavy warjack that was engaging the shieldwall, and a large majority of my own doom reavers and fenris. I would have had over 15 fury points to hand out if I had any models left in my own army.

How I won my first game.
It was a 15pt point game w my slightly modified cryx battle box (turned the slayer into a reaper), vs some cygnar list or another (stryker I think).

I had been pretty remorselessly crushed, all of my army was scrap save one arc node off on a flank that didn't really matter. Dhenegra was totally in the open with no real hope of escape, his caster was comfotably sitting behind the wrecked remains of my reaper and some rough terrain, and had several other defense boosting shennanigans going on keeping him easily safe from dhenegra's infamously lethal spell slinging.
So I popped feat, had denny ghost walk herself righ through all that terrain he was counting on and stabbed him in the face with a spear about 6 times.
It was glorius, and I was hooked

I got a turn 2 caster kill against goreshade,
My turn I ran everything up
Opponents turn he ran everything up used most of his focus to cast spells.
Amon cast mobillity through a revenger on to the avatar, avatar charged and killed Goreshade in 1 hit.
It was pretty cool but I regret I was so exited I was a bit arrogant the next game and he killed me almost as quickly, always good to learn.

When a Bronzeback with train wreck on him being a mere 1.5 inches from Vindictus failing to hit a Zealot 4 times in a row.

The build up to this was that before it accured, both me and my friend was "oh if I charge, I can assassinate" and it was my turn after his failed assassin attempt on eVayl.

Angelius charging pSorscha (Wind Rush up) with 3 hp left.I kept rolling misses after misses.
One fury left >One more attack>HIT!>Double 1s on the dice.

Got a couple.

First one was back in MK.I, a lowly Trencher killed pSorcha with his bayonet the turn AFTER this squad had charged her. Had such an effect on my opponent in that game that whenever we played there after the Trenchers were hsi number one target.

Second occasion I was playing pMagnus against a Cygnar army, gotten to the point where I only had my 'caster and a partially damaged 'jack surrounded by a mostly intact Cygnar army complete with that 'jack with the twin chain guns. Being on the backfoot (and the only occasion where I was panicking) I prepared for the worse only for Magnus to survive and then managed to pull of a most glorious victory. Probably THE best game I've ever had.

I have a couple:

pStryker vs Gorshade. Turn 2 my Lancer knocks the Cortex on his Seether out, but dies in his next turn and my Charger "kills" gorshade with 2 fully boosted shots. He comes back on 1 health and pops his feat. 2 Bane Thralls attack my Charger, 3 attack Stryker and his Seether walks into combat with my Ironclad. In my next turn Stryker kills the 3 Bane Thralls attacking him and advances. My next turn rolls around and Stryker camps focus and fires his pistol at Goreshade. First shot boosted to hit, hits, boosted damage, dead Gorshade.

I opened up a lane to Harkovich then charge in with my Earthborn diretroll (thinking i would be in the combat next round still) then proceded to only just hit with the first attack and roll boosted damage of a tripple 6 and smash him to the ground in one hit.

Had a solid game, practically in the bag, get over-confident and expose my warcaster to a light.

My opponent realizes he can 2x-handed throw my caster to his heavy's charge lane. Then he procedes to fail the test he had something like an 80% chance to succeed.

He should have had that game, for my dumb mistake and his creative thinking...

Yeah, lost a number of games that way.

Playing a 2v2 game and letting a friend borrow my Cygnar. He included the Stormcallers, as well as a firefly, but NEVER used their triangulation attack.

I ended up having to stomp everything with Ivan and Torch.

Shredders sure are squishy.

Redeemer shooting at Gorman hoping for a lucky drift drops an AOE onto epic Eiryss and kills her. next shot hits ol Rowdey so i boost and take out his movement. All bottom of turn 1 Ther is now a firm belief that the GF9 Menoth dice are brocken

Bethayne Vs. Witch Coven.

Witch Coven player used feat to limit LOS to within 5" and was protected by a wall of banes.

Bethayne's turn, use hex hunters to clear the banes. Run spell martyr within 5", pop Bethayne's feat and cast Erruption of spines directely in the middle of the coven at the big orb. It hits and I roll 5 on my erruption roll, hitting the orb and all three witches with boosted rolls! One shot spell assassinating the Witch Coven Top of turn 2!

Pretty sure you had the rules wrong on your caster kill

Mobility is a battlegroup spell, you dont "cast it on a Unit"

Avatar is not part of the battlegroup, he cannot benefit from the above spell.


Sooo if the Speed buff from mobility got you the kill....It was Invalid.

Then again... my book isnt handy, but im 99% sure the above is correct.

Another game with turn two caster kill everyone ran up, he DoD the same, pkreos feated, cast immolation through revenger on enemy caster, set him on fire, deliverers fired individuallyand killed him.

I recently got MK 1 pKreoss Pop and dropped bottom of turn 1 lol. It was terrible.

Thats all I have to say about that.

This guy comes to our store tournament some years ago. He's a press ganger who's so happy he gets to finally play. That part we can all sympathize with.

He's an utter ass, explaining even the simplest rules to people who've been playing for months at this point. Instant fiery hatred from all the regular crowd. In the luck of the draw, his first two opponents are newbies and his third has some epically bad dice. Each time he makes it a point to rub in his opponent's misfortune by explaining what he would have done better, but for their limited mental skills.

We meet in the finals. He is still convinced I am a rube somehow. Turn one is the standard advance by both of us.

In turn 2, he is so hot to kill the long gunners on the hill he moves Gaspy up behind his thralls to get off as many spells as he can.

Much self congratulatory patting on the back results. He asks, 'If I want to call it a game yet.' I have never been more tempted to simply smile and say, "You lose," but I resist tempting Fate with a chance to kill my dice rolling.

Haley moved forward and cast Temporal Barrier. He smiles thinking I'm really stupid. Obviously I won't survive his turn three.

I don't give a damn about the movement debuff. I want his DEF punished, so Haley can shoot the undead bastard herself... Twice. The thunderhead moves forward. Energy pulse and one shot and I've won on turn two.

He gapes at the board. Then he insists that it was mathematically impossible for me to have shot him on turn 2. I demonstrate in the simplest possible terms why he's an asstard.

There was much rejoycing. People still talk about that game and how "Turd Fergusson" got his comeuppance.
