Subject: Look Out Sir vs Perils of the warp?

So my sorcerer rolls box cars and suffers perils of the warp.
He is allocated a wound, which cannot be saved against.
Look out Sir is not a save, and is rolled whenever a wound or unsaved wound is allocated to the character.
Discuss?
On a side note, feel no pain is specifically addressed as not being a save - thus, you also get feel no pain vs. perils of the warp checks, no?
So a sorcerer in a squad of plaguemarines could roll look out sir, allocate the wound to a plaguemarine, who then gets a feel no pain save?

No FNP- can't be taken against something that allows no saves.
Not sure on the LOS issue. Seems dubious to me though, as how exactly is a random trooper going to throw himself in the way of the Perils?

Where does it say you can't fnp something that allows no saves? I was under the impression it worked against things like plasma, even on regular marines, so long as it doesn't cause instant death.

Spellbound has read the new rulebook for sure - FNP was changed from 5th to 6th. Now only wounds that cause Instant Death make it useless.
I too find the Look out Sir a bit dubious for Perils but will have to consult my rulebook before saying yes or no.

Perils makes you suffer a wound but that wound is never allocated so LOS isn't triggered.

No, LOS triggers on allocating a wound. There is no allocation step for Perils, so no LOS.

Nvm, it does not say allocate, says suffers....so I guess not then!
FNP still works though
Glad we got this settled.

Page 16 under Look Out, Sir! 2nd bullet point last sentence it says:
"This can even be a model that is out of range or line of sight of the Shooting attack."
A Perils is not a shooting attack and since it references shooting attacks specifically I would say no.

Yes, but there is a section in the Assault Phase section that lays out the rules for it, starting with "Like a shooting attack..." There is no section on LoS in the Psyker section so it can be inferred (not assumed since there is a logical reasoning behind the inference) that it is limited to wounds inflicted by an enemy model. This is further justified by the explanation of the rule painting a picture of a captain using his private as a meat shield, or a lowly Marine sacrificing his life for his Sergeant. It would be impossible for a Marine to run interference against the Warp clawing at the Psyker's mind.

I doubt either LOS or FNP should be taken against Perils of the warp, there was a post in which a guy was asking whenever reanimation protocol on the necron lord (or something like that i dont play necron ) can be taken against Death or Glory wounds.

FNP yes, LOS sir no. it also doesn't work for certain powers like hemmorage, since you "suffer" a wound, but because it has no AP, you can use FNP roll.

In 5th this was a no. With the changes to FNP I would say you can take FNP against Perils since it says no saves allowed but FNP is not a save.

Perils of the Warp is a massive migraine suffered by a psyker. No one is going to dive in front of a headache...

Typhus is immune to fething perils, and he autopasses his psychic tests. So this situation would never come up with him.

Not if he trades his two powers for, say, pyromancy powers. Also when he uses his force weapon.

What?
Doesn't his entry say he autopasses all psychic tests but can only cast one power a turn(not including FW activation, which he can do as much as he wants)

He auto-passes psy tests when using his two normal powers, and his weapon gives him the ability to use his force weapon in addition to having used a power that turn.

Also hemorrhage is a focused witch fire, which I believe doesn't allow LOS.

Not any more. The FAQ removed the bit about using Manreaper as a force weapon even if he used a psychic power that turn. He now uses it just like everyone else, using Warp Charges. Since he is only Mastery level one and so only gets one Warp Charge a turn he can either use a Psychic power or use his force weapon, not both.

You say that, yet in the FAQ, three questions down from where it states what psy level typhus is, it states he may use his force weapon and a power each turn.
Thank you GW. I can't wait for more wonderful FAQ's

I'll say that I think the bit I posted about trumps that bit as 1) It's newer. 2) It is Manreapers new rules, not an old question about Manreapers old rules. 3) Pink beats Black.
