You only get FNP for unsaved wounds. Since you dind;t get a saving throw you can not use FNP against Perils or LOS lol.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

@Happyjew - I assume you mean that from the fact that most everything's AP is greater than their armor? If YOU don't get an armor save, but an armor save is allowed, you DO get FNP. But perils just inflicts a wound, period. No saves allowed, no by your leave. FNP wouldn't help you because you can only use it for unsaved wounds, same as LOS (though LOS can be used BEFORE saves in some cases). The question at hand is Perils, and having reread the BRB I agree that it is an inflicted wound, bypassing all saving mechanisms other than ones that say it doesn't bypass them. (I think Eldar get something?)

So AP1 weapons ignore FNP now? I know it did in 5th ed, but since 6th ed came out, the only way NOT to get FNP ( AFAIK) is if the Wound inflicts ID. Of course EW might be brought up, but that has been debated to death already.

Sorry, perhaps I misspoke, perhaps you misunderstood me. What I was saying is that AP 1 weapons will "go through" all armor, yes, but the theoretical 0+ armor would still get a save. Therefore, an AP 1 does not IGNORE armor saves, it simply doesn't ALLOW them. To wit: you will receive FNP on multimelta hits against your nob. You are right, ID attacks (x2T for example) ignore FNP, regardless of their AP value, but if you might still be able to save against an ID attack, depending on it's AP. Perils on the other hand, doesn't allocate a wound, the psyker simply "suffers one wound". This means you cannot reallocate it using LOS, nor can you save against it (as it specifically says you can't), nor can you use FNP as it is not an "unsaved wound". Suffering a wound is the same wording used on pg 16 to indicate what happens when an wound is applied against a model's wound characteristic.

So you have saved Wounds, unsaved Wounds and can't-be-saved Wounds? I have no problem with the no LOS for Perils, but I disagree that you would not get FNP.

From pg. 35 under Feel no Pain - "When a model ... suffers an unsaved wound..."
Hmm, I just seem to be contradicting myself all over today...
You are right. FNP should be able to be taken against Perils.
Now to figure out how to give my Aspiring Sorcerers FNP...

But Perils says that the wound is suffered with no saves of any kind allowed. Is Feel No Pain not a kind of save?

Just checked the rule and yep, you're right. So FNP can be taken against Perils. Guess that person can't feel their brain dripping out their ears.

FNP
Feel no pain rolls cannot be made against unsaved wounds that inflict instant death pg. 35
Perils of the warp
The psyker immediately suffers 1 wound with no saves of any kind allowed. pg.67
Look Out, Sir
When a wound (or unsaved wound) is allocated to one of your characters. pg. 16
Its pretty straight forward from the book, the perils of the warp part is bold in the book, no saves of any sort are allowed unless a individual army codex has something that states otherwise. FNP for all intents and purposes is a save that is made after a failed or negated save (with the stipulation it isnt instant death). With that perils of the warp doesn't allow any saves or any type FNP does not work on Perils. Finally LOS requires a allocation to occurs, perils is not a allocation but a automatic wound assigned.
-ehhhh-
I am double guessing this actually based on the line in FNP that it states (this is not a saving throw).... bugger...

Yeah, that is expressly why FnP works. It isn't a save.
This is also why things that let you reroll saves don't work on FnP.

Now I just need some way to give my Farseers FNP, 3+/5+ vs PotW. Oh wait, I don't think I've ever rolled double 1's/6's...never mind. Don't need it.
