Wow! Looks very nice and already gives of some atmosphere.

Exactly how big is it and what kind of method do you use to build sculptures like this one?

Edit: can we get a closeup on the face?

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

I have been playing catch up with the base hence the lack of update pics the base and the figure have to interact as if the figure is operating the machine console so placement of the arms is going to be very important this is where the two start to come together.
anyway started doing some stumps and the shoulders musculature, no easy thing when there are two armpits per side lol.

Love it! Always wondered what one of these would look like. Looks like the anatomy of an extra set of arms was a challenge to sculpt. Not real keen on the 6 pack, however. Interested to see what you go with for weapons (or whatever this guy will be doing) Top notch work!!
edit: I see you've said he will be at a console, shoulda read your posts better! Reminds me alot of the tall, lanky clone-builder people from star wars. Just more bird-like.

I did some fine detailing on the control consoles i wanted it to look slightly simular to Necron signs and symbols with Eldar crystals etc as they are two races that may have developed their civilisation from the Old ones on the flat surface im not sure if it can be seen i have done thousands of little scroll work effects to give it a texture hope that comes through on the painted version and the paint doesnt simply fill in the grooves.

Here's the orb holders proper with the clear stem to make it appear that the ball is floating it will be up to the owner to either leave it this length or cut it back slightly

OUCH! That looks like it hurts quite a bit.... and what did we learn from that? Don't argue with the hedge trimmer!!
Also, that reminds of that one time when I was carving something and moved the freshly sharpened blade towards my thumb needless so say I slipped and the knife dug into it pretty deep. Boy did that bleed!
