Where does water come from anyway? Some say Naiads, others angels, others the supermarket. It is a mystery that all our so-called science cannot solve.

Mitt Romney actually asked ‘Where did the water come from?’ while visiting flooded New Orleans
By Ned Hepburn 3 hours ago

Romney may be many things and one of those is most certainly a cyborg who has no comprehension of human emotion or empathy. Why? Because while visiting storm-ravaged and flooded New Orleans he asked a group of reporters:

“Did the water come from the sky, or the rivers, or the ocean?”

… because he is clueless and has no idea how to talk to anybody. It brings to mind his “the trees are the right height” comment from a few months ago. What’s more: his vice presidential pick Paul Ryan, if elected, would choose to slash the disaster relief budget, making Romney’s NOLA trip not just stupid but completely ironic. The very thought that this fething swill merchant could become president is as scary as hell.

I just teach the controversy.

I'm sure the recent events in New Orleans are just ordinary tides and require no special attention.

Maybe he was referring to what contribute to most of the water coming over the levy?

Hey now, Romney's trip down there was in no way related to politics, so there's no reason to bring that up.

sounds like a perfectly legitimate question from since those are the three things that could cause NO to flood. Especially after the ACoE came in and rebuilt the levy system and breakwaters. It's not like he fething turned on a faucet and asked the reporters" what magic is this?"

It is remarkably poorly phrased and childlike. And the answer is readily available to anyone following the storm (it's "all 3" btw).

He was asking a question to Bobby Jindal. The quote came from a journalists' pool report, so its unlikely there a full version of the conversation.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

Here's a less snarky read out

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/mitt-romney-flying-to-louisiana-to-view-storm-damage/2012/08/31/cb900172-f36d-11e1-adc6-87dfa8eff430_story.html?hpid=z2

From page 2 of the article

“We really appreciate you coming here,” Jindal said.

“I appreciate the chance to be here,” Romney replied. “I have a lot of questions for you.” The two discussed evacuation procedures and the contributions of the Red Cross, Salvation Army and other organizations. “Did the water come from the sky, or the rivers, or the ocean?” Romney asked. Jindal’s response was not audible to reporters.

5th God of Chaos! (Ho-hum)

Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

That's how I read it.

Romney: Water is an oxygen molecule bonded to two Hydrogen molecule... here's some cool things about water:
-Roughly 70 percent of an adult’s body is made up of water.
-At birth, water accounts for approximately 80 percent of an infant’s body weight.
-A healthy person can drink about three gallons (48 cups) of water per day.
-Drinking too much water too quickly can lead to water intoxication. Water intoxication occurs when water dilutes the sodium level in the bloodstream and causes an imbalance of water in the brain.
Water intoxication is most likely to occur during periods of intense athletic performance.
-While the daily recommended amount of water is eight cups per day, not all of this water must be consumed in the liquid form. Nearly every food or drink item provides some water to the body.
-Soft drinks, coffee, and tea, while made up almost entirely of water, also contain caffeine. Caffeine can act as a mild diuretic, preventing water from traveling to necessary locations in the body.
-Pure water (solely hydrogen and oxygen atoms) has a neutral pH of 7, which is neither acidic nor basic.
-Water dissolves more substances than any other liquid. Wherever it travels, water carries chemicals, minerals, and nutrients with it.
-Somewhere between 70 and 75 percent of the earth’s surface is covered with water.
-Much more fresh water is stored under the ground in aquifers than on the earth’s surface.
-The earth is a closed system, similar to a terrarium, meaning that it rarely loses or gains extra matter. The same water that existed on the earth millions of years ago is still present today. woah!
-The total amount of water on the earth is about 326 million cubic miles of water.
-Of all the water on the earth, humans can used only about three tenths of a percent of this water. Such usable water is found in groundwater aquifers, rivers, and freshwater lakes.
-The United States uses about 346,000 million gallons of fresh water every day.
-The United States uses nearly 80 percent of its water for irrigation and thermoelectric power.
-The average person in the United States uses anywhere from 80-100 gallons of water per day. Flushing the toilet actually takes up the largest amount of this water.
-Approximately 85 percent of U.S. residents receive their water from public water facilities. The remaining 15 percent supply their own water from private wells or other sources.
-By the time a person feels thirsty, his or her body has lost over 1 percent of its total water amount.
-The weight a person loses directly after intense physical activity is weight from water, not fat.

This is wicked cool... super cooled aqua:

You mean the previous dumbass who sat in office for 8 years because a bunch of morons elected him back into office after he politely told Brian Griffon "Don't make me do stuff," right? The one who had Cheney's hand so far up his ass that he was the ultimate puppet? Yeah, don't want that crap again. I'm ashamed to admit my aunt, uncle, and my aunt by marriage's hot cousin all voted for him. So this?
“Did the water come from the sky, or the rivers, or the ocean?”
"I must enquire about all this extra water. I am no fool, I can see it simply doesn't belong here and was brought with that storm. However from whence did all this water flow from? I had thought we had taken precautions to ensure against such a travesty. So, good sir, we must deduce the original locale of all this liquid water so that we may once again work to ensure against it."

Still clueless, but most won't pay enough attention to figure that out and isn't that what politics is all about?

Has Romney been on a crusade about green energy? It's not calling the Presidents use of the plane into question, it's calling his hypocrisy into it.

But granted, that is stretching it a bit. He it he President, certain safety precautions have to be taken and travel on AF One just happens to be one of them. I could sit here all day and rail on about how many KC-135's and F-16's we have to keep in the air on top of AF One whenever he flies, or hell is just even on the ground somewhere, but that is just one of the unavoidable facts of being President. It happened with President Bush, and it's going to happen with President Romney as well.
