Which is better, though I still wouldn't vote for the man who prefixed his "whence" with a redundant "from"; it's as bad as saying "to whither".

There was an old Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy:
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Or y'know - "How did this happen, did levies fail or is it a problem with drainage?"
Honestly if a freshman creative writing student gave me "“Did the water come from the sky, or the rivers, or the ocean?” as dialogue I'd fail him.
Could be worse though, could have been "Why is God angry at Louisiana, is it the gays, abortion or Obamacare?" Automatically Appended Next Post: SilverMK2 wrote:I'm only commenting as I wanted to say that I love KK's signature

So basically you started a thread so you could toss out a couple pithy one liners about Romney and play grade Nazi. Have fun.

Let's see, initially after the big bang after the subatomic particles formed in to atoms, most matter was in the form of hydrogen, but as it gathered it formed in to stars the fusion from the stars formed other elements. Eventually the stars died out and spread those elements around. Red giants, novas, supernovas, etc provide the heavier materials with their fusion processes, as well.
Eventually, an unimaginably large amount of material gathered itself in to the form of a sphere, which was hit by another sphere causing the two globes of molten iron to meld together and causing a huge amount of matter to form the moon. Eventually as things cooled down, oxygen and hydrogen bonded to form water, which is a fairly stable molecule. Also, combustion produces water from flammable materials and oxygen, and various kinds of chemical reactions turn water in to something else as well.
[/layman's explanation]

Has Romney been on a crusade about green energy? It's not calling the Presidents use of the plane into question, it's calling his hypocrisy into it.
Beyond the realities of being President I've not heard Obama call for people to stop using air transit, so I'm not sure how pointing out that he flies around in a plane is relevant. Particularly given that the general message of environmentalism regarding green energy has been a mix of replacing existing sources, and conservation where possible. And, seeing as no one has developed a viable alternative to air travel...
The problem with charges of hypocrisy is that without the explicit contradiction of a prior statement (or, more accurately, a prior conviction*) they incredibly difficult to make stick with anyone other than a sympathetic audience. What usually results is a round of name calling rather than any attempt to consider whether or not "hypocrite" is an appropriate descriptor.

Could throw "I could care less" and "irregardless" in there for added fun. Probably get more votes.

So, what gave the game away that this might not be a sober and even-handed discussion of current events? It was the Neptune reference wasn't it?
