Just found this on the PP website. These are upcoming releases btw.

http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/khador/units/winter-guard-infantry

They are also doing this for the Cygnar stormblades.

http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/cygnar/units/stormblade-infantry

And lastly, they will be releasing a Ret starter box.

Explosions of happiness everywhere. Yay.

With that said, I shall back away slowly and ominously and disappear in a puff of smoke, then smuggle some fruit across the border in order to stay competitive with the veggie cartel.

Sweet sweet day. Not so sweet cause I just finished buying a full unit of WG for a SR tourney, but I don't have rocketeers and I may pick this up for the sculpts. But between the stormblades + stormguard for my cygnar, I'm pretty happy

Well, these are upcoming releases, they are not in stores yet. I should add that part now.

I wish I could get that new Kaelyssa sculpt without having to buy the starter box. That's an awesome new pose.

Got mixed feelings about this. Every pastic heavy I've got has had a mess of mould lines. New scuplts look good, but I'm not looking forward to the cleanup.

I'm sort of dissapointed by Privateer Press and their plastics. They are chunky and have duplicate poses.
Not a significant improvement over the metal ones as far as quality goes.

Granted, the only Privateer Press plastic models I have are the Khador ones from the two-player box, but I am really impressed with them, at least compared to Games Workshop plastic and/or finecast models (the only other miniature game I have assembled/painted plastic models from). I love how the Warjacks are so solid and the details work really well for laying paint on, it pretty much goes where I want it to go and looks pretty good when I finish. I also like how the shoulders and arms are separate pieces and I can glue them in more dynamic poses. The Man-O-War Shocktroopers are also pretty good models. With their shoulder pads and arms, I was able to pose them really well too. I've got some standing at attention, some in a defensive pose with their shield/cannon and a couple in a running / assaulting pose.

The next Warmachine model I want to buy is the Beast-09, which has a ton of different pieces to make even better poses, but it is $60, so that may wait until I get to the point where I need him for my army.

This week, I bought a Malifaux box, so we'll see how I like those models in comparison.

I dunno about that, I kind of like the new stormblades myself. But the thing that keeps me away from playing Cygnar are their warjack designs.

Nothing's wrong with them, it's just that I don't like their hull design.

I have plastics for all 4 WM battle boxes (two player box for POM and Khador) other than Ret. I have helped my friend with both is Ret jack kits, though. And helped magnetize my brothers plastic cygnar jacks. The only real issue I had is the cinerators from the 2 player box swords are kind of bent. I haven't noticed molds lines any better or worse than other companies models I have messed with. But plastic mold lines are pretty easy to deal with.

I really wish they would do is add more bits to help customize your stuff and extra parts for the jacks so you could just magnetize the arms instead of having to do all the different peices. And while space marines can be a pain to put together the ability to customize them is great. If PP had kits like that it'd be pure win to me.

Otherwise, I will pick up the plastic stormblades sooner or later. Really want precursors first, though.

Out of curiosity, how are the jacks in the Ret box regarded?

At a very nice sale at my local, I recently picked up a Myrmidon heavy jack box, intending to make a Phoenix. This leaves me the extra bits for a Hydra, and I'm very likely to pick up that Ret starter (if that Kae minis is as good as I think, in any case), is the Hydra a better choice then the standard... err, is that a Chimera?

It's not a Phoenix. That's what matters. ;P

But more seriously, I THINK that's the Heavy that's alright with Vyros if you're building for his Feat.

The Halberd/Shield light is alright with eVyros to get the Synergy chain going I think I've heard.

The other Light is an Arc Node I see show up in peoples lists occasionally. Probably the most commonly seen (by me) Light, not that I really see Ret Lights very often at all.

The Griffon is also great with Invictors, as it's a nice, cheap light with reach to act as a flankbot.

The Griffon works well with Invictors and Sentinals. Sentinals especially because their officer is a Marshall and has "Pronto" as a drive. Combine that with the Arcanist and you're looking at a very potent cruise missle with something like a 17" threat range iirc. Not at all bad. The Arcanist helps the Marshall out considerably by adding that extra bit of focus or any of its other abilities. The Marshall's Drive is unlikely to fail (it gets to reroll the test thanks to the Standard Bearer) and the whole combo is actually quite solid and hard hitting. It's a great way to go from 35-50 given its cost (15 pts for the full unit + Jack, one more pt for the arcanist.)

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

I'm not sure that PP will be doing plastic Iron Fangs anytime soon, since the 10-man unit box just came out this last year. I am super excited about the plastic WG, though....

I don't think they'll do them in plastic since they're the only unit that uses that body. All their other small plastics have two flavors of units that use the same center of mass. Storm Blade/Guard. Winter Guard Infantry/Rifle Corps, Knights Errants/Exemplar. Would also apply to the new Legion medium based plastic infantry. Does not apply to the Fenn Blades, but those were the first and might have been a learning thing, or to the new Skin Walkers, which might be a bite the bullet thing so they could include them in the starter.
