Where is they're codex? I am looking around at different armies, and I noticed that they have their own entire section in the wh 40k army section, but no codex.

Unfortunately, their codex is found only in an old issue of White Dwarf.
White Dwarf August 2011 I believe.

Indeed, the most current Codex (5th edition) can only be found in the following issues of White Dwarf:
US: #379, #380
UK: #380, #381
You should still be able to order them as back issues from one of the many newspaper shops that run a small online presence on websites such as ebay.
Rumours are a PDF version can be found on the internets, too, but of course none of us would know anything about that here...
For a general idea of the army, however, you could take a look at the 3rd edition Codex Witch Hunters, a slightly downsized version of which (missing some fluff and the cool Adversaries feature) is still hosted on GW's website:
http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1050291a_Codex__Witch_Hunters
It's not just Battle Sisters in there, but in that edition they shared a book with the Ordo Hereticus of the Inquisition, hence the different name of the 'dex.

It's not quite a dead army! It's just not supported as well. Fluff wise, I think it's quite interesting.

Your best chance is to make a thread in the swapshop asking for people to sell you theirs, Ebay, or bartertown. average is about 30-40$ for the pair IMO. They are a blast to play, steeper learning curve but not impossible. Models are all metal, the high price of the models keeps a lot of players from getting them, most basic, cheapest legal army(2 battle sister squads of 10, $120.25)( one Cannoness, $15) runs $135.25 buying new from GW. Ebay or swapshop tends to run quite a bit cheaper. Done rambling, have fun!

The current 'dex unfortunately took a lot of options away from them, but fortunately they kept their style. Them being not as common also means that anyone running them stands out all the more from the usual armies at whatever you play.
As for the metal minis ... yeah, they are damn expensive (and as such a huge turn-off for many), yet beautifully sculpted and personally I really like their weight. Holding a Battle Sister between your fingers actually feels like something.

I love the metal models<minus cost of course> except the pentinent engines and exorcist. those made me pull my hair out to make them look right. I love most of the sculpts except the repentia mistress. seems really overweight compared to her slimmer counterparts. (also dialogus not a fan)

Just had an excellent game with my Sisters the other day against Space Wolves. I love playing them and getting the "I never played against these/seen them in a game" line.
And goodness they are effective if you use them correctly. They have the shooting ability of Marines, but without as much cost, meaning that you can have great synergy with your units.

I just got a 2K+ SoB army this weekend for 60% off. I am seriously stoked to throw them down.
They will be a real challenge to play after primarily playing Space Wolves and Necrons; two codecis routinely hammered for being overpowered.
The cost of the army is prohibitive for most, though. Your best bet is to either save up money until SoB either get a full update or until there is any other army you really want gets updated. The only other option is to find a good deal on a used Sisters army and build out the few models you do need.

My entire SoB army is 2nd hand. through a lot of trades over time and buying cheaper models when I see them popup, ive managed to make quite an army with them. they are my only fully painted army that I did. They arnt the best painted but they look uniform and amazing to me on the table waging war. They all have pastel pink hair

I'd caution that it's quite a gamble to assume that's going to happen. GW's likely learned their lesson from the squats, so they won't pull a, "Sisters of Battle? Never happened!" but it's also fairly clear that the studio's not all that positive on them, and if rumors are to be believed, Andy Hoare's been their only actual champion within the company. While they almost certainly won't get squatted, I strongly suspect what they've got now is all they're ever going to get.

I doubt that a new plastic army will be cheaper than old metal. And Sisters are not really a horde army like Tyranids or IG. So costs should be average.
Haven't looked at the WD Codex, but many people hate it and expect to pay more for those two WDs as they are sought after.

With the 'leak' earlier this year of the names of re-done units this year, a few sisters of battle did come up IIRC. I remember a cannoness with power axe, new sephrims and battle sisters, so i so think they are getting another wave this year. The 'leak' has been nothing but right so far this year, predicting both daemons, tau, high elves and eldar, all of which has at least been partially confermed.
So, believe what you like, i'd like to keep the hope, even if chances are the old models will look a lot better in metal

Trust me, even at a Grey knights price per model ratio it will be cheaper by about 30% for most of the current units. At current price heavy weapons are 14$.

One of the guys at my local game store runs about 1850 in sisters, the models are beautiful and luckily for him he was able to get a good price on them as he bought the army from someone who was getting out of them in favor of necrons.
when all is said and done he said his army will probably have cost him about $400, which is a LOT cheaper than my guard army cost (but then again, i usually have a good 140 models on the table) but I'm not sure what the discount he had on it was.
He has a really nice printed version of the PDF of the white dwarf that is in a plastic binder.
The only main issues he seems to have with the army is that they lack air support unless your opponent lets you field FW, and that even with power armor the infantry are really, really fragile with only tough 3 (he usually runs 4 squads and by the end of the match he may have 2 partial squads on the table...but that may be a reflection on the general rather than the army).
The models are expensive, yes, but they're really really good models, and as a previous poster said there is something about a metal model that you just can't beat.
they were fun to play against as well, because they're a good book but they don't have anything overpower like, say, grey knights or even guard has (everything in GK, the flyers and manticores in guard)

Sister Vastly Superior

Almost everyone I've faced has underestimated the Sisters of Battle. Anyone that tells you they are bad has not played against a competent player fielding them.
By themselves they are very dangerous, but Allies have given them access to everything they were missing (which were mostly autocannons and lascannons). There are extremely potent list that can be made allying guards or grey knights.
Since I stopped playing my close circle of friends and took to the wilds of local gaming clubs I have 6 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss under my belt.
3 of those wins were me tabling my opponent. Both draws were against the same guy who is very good at playing his Vulkan list and the loss should have been me tabling my opponent on turn 6 since we had rolled for the game to go on, but the TO decided to stop us at Turn 5 and not let us continue.
The models themselves are beautiful, albeit expensive, and anyone who owns a Sister army at this point should make this a labor of love and spend time to give them as much character as possible. They certainly deserve it.

Partly maybe, but with SoB you really have to spend sisters to get things done. The trick is spending them in the right place, at the right time. Sending a lone SoB squad to take that far-away objective is generally a lost SoB squad for little or no gain. Outflanking a 2-meltagun Dominion squad with TL- MM Immolator is with some certainty two dead enemy tanks immediately, and they'll draw fire away from your other units in swift response too. Unit well spent.

Despite the old codex, SoB are quite good. I have this one guy at the FLGS I play at, he's got a Golden Demon level painted sisters army, it looks fabulous. And he's been able to table just about anybody, I've beat him once due to a lucky manticore rocket. Saint Celestine is a BEAST.

They were a silly idea with dumb back story and virtually no support from GW, FW or any third party model maker.
More power to OP if he has the money, patience and time to make this work.
Frankly though, I think the time has come to take them behind the chemical shed and put both barrels into their delirious face.

Awesome - then we can just concentrate on having a codex for every minor variation in Marine Chapter - wonderful.
Sisters appear often in GW fluff (not well) but still often - they make as much or more sense than the Astartes background and fluff.
I run a Sisters army and they are fine...........

One of my opponents uses Sisters. They are a friggin nightmare to face - I've wept tears of frustration as the Saint comes back to life and wipes out yet another Boyz squad.
I always think that they would make for a nice army to paint - the Seraphim being the real standouts in the model line - but I don't know if I could bring myself to do that many metal models. Outside of Infinity, plastic is the way to go.

They are in the new Space Wolves novel by Chris Wraight:
Quote from him in WD: "Actually I enjoyed writing about the Sisters of Battle, particularily Bajola. I wanted them to give a good account of themselves in the story. Its not easy to stand up to the Sons of Russ, but if anyone can the Sororitas can - they're truely interesting, and I'd like to write more about them in the future."
Sounds almost promising!
