So me and my buddy are going to try and go to Adepticon next year. We both came to the relization that our team will never win, So we finally got the bad ass idea to just troll all over. Our ideas were to go into the Con with some of the worst army lists ever put on the field. He wants to make a Tau Army with no Tau and only Kroot. While I want to try and make a pure Ork Commando/Shoota army. If any one has any ideas i would really love to hear it!

I don't believe there are any non Tau HQs, so that wouldn't work. You should go for fun, unbalanced armies not just bad. Example: Death Company Spam, every guy has a jump pack or DPod. Then there's classic Nid Ripper Spam, with the Parasite and maxed out rippers

Who are you trying to troll? Your opponents or everyone other than your opponents? If you take the worst army possible all you are doing is giving your opponent a win which is a good thing. It is however, unfair, perhaps even trollish, to the other players who do not get a free round win. If you really want to troll make a horrible list that can actually win and beat your opponent. If you are laying tau make a list with 3 squads of 3 crisis suits all with a flamer and a tl flamer, then make two crisis commanders with two body guard each, each with a flamer and tl flamers. Have nothing but suits and flamers and a few kroot. The list will be horrible but then you will go up against IG and table him on turn 3.

Um send in the next wave doesn't work with penal.. Need a whole platoon then put some conscripts in.. And it still only works for that single unit even if you get more...
And the best thing about troll lists is when the dice goes to gui'la crap crazy.. The look on their faces if you even get close to winning is so with it...

Combine the two concepts.
IG Primary, max conscripts.
SW secondary, two Thunderlords in maxed out squads of Fenrisian Wolves (and a 5 man GH pack with a flamer)

I'm going to second the idea of running tons of flamers, just because it's funny. Orks primary - 3 battlewagons with maxed burna squads, shoota boys as backup Tau allies - farsight bomb with every suit having dual flamers? Useless against some armies, but if you go against a horde army, they will die obscenely fast. Another trolly idea would be sniper spam, tau with space marine allies, 6 squads of maxed kroot with SM scout allies. Against some armies you die fast, but I pity any tyranid monstrous creature spam lists.

Two suggestions:
1) A Tau list with 12x pulse rifles as its only guns. Take the mandatory two minimum-size fire warrior squads, and then take nothing but crisis suits with shield drones (3x shield generators on each if you need to spend more points) and shield drone squads.
2) Take the cheapest possible army and don't spend all of your points. For example with IG you could take a CCS with no upgrades and two veteran squads with no upgrades giving you a total of fifteen basic guardsmen and 190 points. Always let your opponents go first and see who can table you the fastest.

Max Kroot! Use 6 skroot squads of 10 kroot, 1 hound, 3 krootox. Add more kroot or hounds as points allow.
Put the Space Pope in a Devilfish with pods and sensor spines.
Infiltrate the whole army except DF or outflank the entire army. DF turbo boosts forward, Space Pope buffs all of the kroot's rifles for an extra shot and lets them be stubborn so they won't run away. Or better yet lets them run then snapshot, extra movement phase yay! Can add more points by giving all the Kroot sniper ammo, which will actually be rough for an MC heavy lists you play!
This with the thunderwolves might actually be somewhat effective.

I think a fun way is to make a pure sword list. IE. A no shooting list. Just fill up all your points with pure assault based units. Then do a warrgghhhh imitation and full on charge from turn 1.
1) In keeping with Ork's mentality.
2) Opponent will have fun shooting
3) Game will be suitably bloody, whether you die by shooting, or when you hit his lines.
4) It will be a fast game. Everything will be over by turn 3, max turn 4.
5) There IS a possibility you may win! And even if you do, I am sure your opponent won't begrudge you the win since you did it without firing a single shot!

if you wanna be a troll as orks throw Ghaz in with Snikrot and have him appear behind the enemy defense lines turn 2. That'll draw attention lol (and provided you dont wiff your 2+ saves or LOS's is very deadly as well in Turn3)
Nowhere near as viable as Bikernobz and only slightly (if at all) cheaper. But it does throw people off lol.
Hell throw in Zagstrukk just for good measure lol

You could take a "no upgrades" list. You're allowed any unit barring special characters but they must all be taken at base cost, with no extra options.
A variant on this is all bolters, all the time. Standard Marine army, totally maxed out on Tactical squads for Troops, vanilla Bikes in Fast Attack, Devastators in Heavy Support, and Sternguard or Termies (for storm bolters) in Elites. That's a scary amount of bolter fire, you'll have a tough time against mech or when caught in assault but Termies power fists and krak grenades can help here.

This with the thunderwolves might actually be somewhat effective.
Space pope cannot embark on a devilfish(which could not even be purchased anyways).
you cannot outflank the whole army but you could infiltrate half and outflank the other half

That's a total of 1140 points so far, minimal squad requirements and no upgrades. What is the Adepticon point limit? 1850? Then you have plenty of room for upgrades, larger squads, even filling out the rest of your troop and fast attack since you already have a the HQ and troop requirements.

Ooh, Ooh I know... Hydras... lots and lots of Hydras. scare the bejeesus out of anyone with flyers, and cause everyone else to laugh at you Although if its only 1850, you'd only get 9 of them, but you would also only be using less than half your points... Another 100 points for an ADL with Quad gun to boost skyfire even more. Maybe a Tau allied contingent to get even more skyfire, but the Tau special kit has the downside of allowing the units to "choose" to not skyfire You could add to the madness by using up as many more points as possible in Vendettas, but only ever skyfiring them

lol... all boyz and kommandos is a bad list?
crap... thats my ork army right there... 100 boyz, 45 commandos, some stormboyz, snikrot, and a couple bosses
havnt tried it yet, but having 45 infiltrators, 15+snikrot+any IC's of those coming in off a table edge of my choice
and 20ish storm boys up close to the enemy, followed by a hundred or so boyz seemed like something that would work...
then again, I did go into this after feeling my guard army didnt allow me to bravly send wave after wave of my own troops into the enemy's ranks
