So, I figure it's been awhile since we've had light hearted banter about the things which we imbibe ourselves of...This is for the discussion of preferred brands, drinks, types of alcohol, etc..... Basically, all things of the drink
For me, I predominately drink beer, with Single Malt scotch whisky being my "go to" for hard stuff.
I've amassed a decent (by my reckoning) scotch collection. A few 18s, a 21, 2 of the Highland Park "Valhalla Collection" (Loki and Thor). I prefer drinking them straight in a Riedel "single malt" crystal glass.
For beer, my preferred is Newcastle Brown (yeah, I'm American, but I definitely prefer stuff from outside the US). I've found it best here in the states if you can find it on tap, or that 5L "Fridge keg"
Fallbacks from that are:
Fosters (the blue can, not the green)
Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen
Third Shift
Angry Orchard/Woodchuck/Strongbow/Hornsby's Hard Ciders.
when it comes to proper cocktails, I do prefer the classics: Old Fashioned or Manhattan, or Jack/Coke.. or Rum/coke.
I am interested in other cocktails (like the James Bond, if I can find a proper place to make one for me, it may be better than my attempts) and drinks.

Brother, that is my wife's de facto favorite drink right there... we ALWAYS have at least a gallon jug in the house of the Kraken
And for those wondering how I can drink Fosters??? the answer is, quickly

Guinness, 1800 tequila, gin and tonics. Hard cider will do in a pinch, and my dad is an awesome brewer, so I get awesome homemade stuff.

I bought myself a pack of small batch bourbon miniatures as an early Xmas present yesterday. I'm liking the Baker's so far, but no store near me stocks it.

I am a bourbon man myself, and actually picked up a new bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 12 Year today. Pretty excited to find it.
My normal everyday drinker is Elmer T Lee.
My wife is getting me a bottle of Angels Envy Rye Rum Cask for Christmas, which I sampled tonight, and and pretty giddy at the opportunity to have a bottle.
I'm also a pretty big beer drinker, favoring stouts and porters.
Favorite beer is probably Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout.
I'm also a fan of Great Lakes Christmas Ale, of which we've already consumed about a case and a half of over these holidays.

I'm a Jameson's man, m'self.
Or Tullamore Dew in a pinch.
I've also got cognac in the hooch hutch for those special occasions (Courvoisier).
As for beers, I prefer the lighter lagers or pilseners. I don't like weissbiers at all, and heavier ales or porters I drink sparingly in the colder months of the year (if I happen to be in sub-Antarctic conditions).

I approve of this. One of my favourites as well.
I like ale or bitter generally; some of my favourites are Spitfire (Best adverts ever ) Bombardier; Lancaster Bomber; Landlord, Hobgoblin; amongst many others! Occasionally I'll drink whiskey. My Dad likes Irish whiskeys but I prefer scotch personally.
I'll anything once though; so there's plenty I like that I simply can't remember the name of!

Got my Christmas bonus through the other day and as is traditional, some was allocated for my Christmas booze.
1. The aforementioned Kraken (although only one supermarket near me stocks it and it is a wee bit more expensive than other rums - 'tis delicious however!)
2. Hendricks Gin - again, slightly more expensive but makes up for it with an awesome flavour and character. Head and shoulders above other gins IMO.
3. Captain Morgan's Spiced Gold - for when the Kraken runs out.
4. Some sort of hideous Bailey's chocolate liqueur thing for the wife.
The last thing on the list to get is a vodka - I have traditionally been a Smirnoff man but I might try Russian Standard and see if it is better - or some Absolut, thinking about it.

I only really drink Vodka. I don't mind beer much, but I really don't have any preferences, and usually just drink whatever packaging looks nice.
Grey Goose, Absolut and Belvedere, but anything that isn't fruity is fine, aside from Skyy and Bacardi. I'm a bit limited by what they sell at the PX though.

Wow, it's like you are raiding my liquor cabinet! In addition to the Hendricks, I keep some Beefeater and Bombay Sapphire on hand, as those are the preferred gins of my folks/in-laws. The Wife has some Godiva chocolate liquor instead of Baiey's, It's OK splashed in your coffee. There are some dust covered bootless in back, but the ones listed are the ones that get drunk.
I also keep a bottle of bourbon, to honor the time I spent living in Kentucky. Woodford Reserve. When I'm down visiting my brother next week, I suspect I'll be subjected to a bourbon tasting. He's on a big kick and has been hitting the liquor stores to snag limited release bottles of the good stuff.
The Vodka in the freezer is Svedka. It's a decent middle of the road vodka, not rotgut, but not top shelf.

I'd like to point out that we're not just being suckered in by the cool label and bottle. When I put the question to my two favorite rum monkeys "If you were to have one bottle of rum on the shelf, what would it be?" The consensus was either Kraken, or a bottle of Captain Morgan's Private Stock.

I also keep a hipflask charged with either Brandy or Whiskey for college. It helps with the stress, and in the winter keeps the class spirits up

This. I think my blood has turned inky black from it at this point.
Jaegermeister is my first love and I treat it as a herbal remedy for a bad day
Beer is Guinness, Yuengling, or Killians Irish Red, or whatever decent local microbrew is available.
Not a big whiskey fan, but I like Stranahans Colorado Whiskey, its pricey but its unique.

Currently I've got 2 bottles of Scotch, Auchentoshan Classic (their basic scotch) and Laphroaig 10 year. I've also got some brandy, which I've found I'm not a fan of (may just be the particular type that I bought years ago), a bottle of Bailey's, that I like to drink from a shoe, and a Ommegang Brewery's Game of Thrones Taking the Black Stout. But I'll drink pretty much anything but everclear, and most light beers.

I'll drink anything. And I mean anything. One night, a friend and I decided to drink a 24 pack of PBR and some homemade moonshine. Next thing I know, I'm outside and it's 7 a.m. It's like I time-traveled or something.
Normally, I stick to rum & coke or a nice beer. I've been on a huge IPA kick the past year or so, so I'll try any I can get my hands on. My favorite at the moment being Lagunitas IPA. I also love scotch, but I keep that to nice/special occasions. I currently have a bottle of JW Green Label with about one more glass worth. My favorite scotch was Dalwhinnie.

I am mostly a brandy drinker. Whether it's straight with some ginger ale or whatever it is my first choice.
And to be honest I prefer Ron Diaz rum over Kraken. I think its smoother (and I make my own spiced rum so I prefer to control the concentration)
Also of note are hard ciders, blue moon, rum&coke, and stouts. All are my top choices for a good drink.

You know, I like hard ciders, but I can only stomach two, maybe three. I don't know what it is, but those tear up my stomach.
And I also like Kraken, but my favorite rum has got to be Sailor Jerry - especially when mixed with Cherry Coke. So delicious.
