Subject: Coming Soon from CMoN - Xenoshyft - Kickstarter is Live
The art does looks nice - and plenty of room for actual Starship Troopers knockoffs as exclusives if it does hit Kickstarter!
Am I alone in seeing the beginnings of a pattern where CMON is attempting to replace products of theirs produced in partnerships, with their 'own brand'? First SDE and Arcadia Quest, now Sedition Wars and this? I'm sure the Kickstarter returns are rather better, for one.

I think you're right there, and from a business perspective it makes perfect sense. You have to fill gaps in your product line.
Like I said, I know pretty much nothing about this thusfar, but as soon as I can bleed more info from my information turnip, you'll see it here.
Well, given that Sedition Wars was a variant Space Hulk by an ex-GW painter (known, not least, for his Space Hulk diorama that still stands in the Warhammer World's Hall of Fame), there is little sympathy that way. Also, McVey had like.. what? ... 2 years to do something with Sedition Wars. Frankly, it feels dead and buried.
Love the look of the pictures, will keep a look out for this and as other people have said even if it is CMON! Though when I first read the title I read it as Xeonosh#t lol!

Did CMON dump sedition wars? or is there just nothing new lately?
This; I find all this very strange, not in a sinister way, but simply in an "I didn't know this" way. Has there been talk about a problem between McVey and CMON? I was under the impression that the various problems with Sedition Wars were generally considered to be on the McVey end (problems with the rulebook, for example, seem far outside of CMON's area of responsibility).
I like the art, hope that the game is good. If they can make figures that look like that, sign me up.
I had big hopes for Sedition Wars. I have two full sets that could use a good home somewhere. I'm keeping the terrain pieces, those are awesome. But it's just a useless board game that was in no way, shape or form anywhere near worth playing. And I'm too far gone in miniatures to want to make a guard or zombie army. Short of McVey crapping out the BEST miniature game EVER, nothing is going to bring back to that game.
Despite all the CMON hate floating about, I am pretty happy with the games I've gotten from them: Zombicide is a hit with my family and friends. Rivet Wars is simply spectacular. Great game, superb figures, can't wait for the expansions. Really looking forward to what Ted does next with that game. Arcadia Quest looks good. Can't say anything about it til it ships this fall.
I have far more angst right now with SodaPop and Ninja Division than I do with CMON. The crap games they're pushing out (late) look disappointing, especially Robotech. CMON seems to have raised their bar by cutting ties with SPM.
I'm not aware of a split between Studio McVey and CMoN. I know what's coming for SW and I think these 2 games can co exist but that's all I can say on the matter for now I'm afraid, I only posted this to cut down on the speculation.
EDIT: Given this is not a miniatures based game they can definitely co exist.
EDIT: GAMA references removed no SW at GAMA this year.

The fact that they're already starting to tease it makes me think it'll be dropping in the next few weeks.
Heck, Arcadia Quest only seemed to get teased for a week or two before it launched. Maybe it was longer, it seemed really fast though, from announcement to campaign.
So what do they have left to ship at the moment? Z2 is on its way, Rivet Wars is supposed to wrap up soon(ish), Relic Knights...eventually?, Wrath of Kings is still set for May, Kaosball is bound to be here any day...
Hopefully this is more Rivet Wars quality than Sedition Wars. I'd almost like to see this arrive after Wrath of Kings gets delivered, so we know what to expect in terms of actual released figures.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
There's been very little con/general publicity support by CMoN of SW, which is what, as producers, is most of their task, but AFAIK they're still together.

Yeah, that's about where I sit with info. I know Mike isn't coming to CMoN Expo this year, which could mean something, or nothing (since he isn't in the US to begin with).
Digging for that info as well, and will post if I'm able to get it.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Arms of Sorrow is the next project inbound for Sedition Wars.
An additional annoucement regarding Sedition Wars is forthcoming, though I'm not allowed to disclose any information.

My understanding of the matter (subject to correction, as it's only based on public information) is that CMON acted as publisher for McVey and SPM. The change with SPM is the result of them buying out their contract, just as an author that wants to move publishing houses might buy out his contract with a conventional book publisher.
Frankly, Xenoshyft (ugh, why the y?) looks a bit more like an "homage" to Aliens then Sedition Wars on second viewing, especially as the follow up to the initial Sedition Wars is meant to focus on human/humanoid political opponents (a rebellion of sorts?) rather then a creature feature. Again I may be misinformed.
So, it's entirely possible that just as a publishing house has many books of similar nature (Baen, for example, doesn't drop a writer of military sci-fi just because it signs a new one), and this is meant to be a complimentary, rather then replacement, product.
