I don't believe this is the case, no.

It simply is not a tabletop miniatures game.

Wait, so there's a chance that it's a board game with miniatures?

One guys says minis, one guy says no minis. This is all very confusing. I may just have to wait till they announce it and see whats actually happening.

Yeah, this is the quote from last page that seems to contradict it... "not a miniatures based game".

This is like the mini equivalent to that whole 90s Ross/ Rachel "Are they or aren't they?"

Important stuff.

Maybe Stanman can shed some light on the situation.

So... why is Cool Mini or Not producing this? I thought they were a miniatures company. Is this them breaking into the "or Not" part of their name?

I'm fairly certain this is going to be a Mansions of Madness style game with miniatures as the game pieces and villains, etc.

Perhaps by "Not a miniatures based game" is a game where the miniatures are not the focal point.

A board game with playing pieces that look better than a meeple or colored block.

Yeah, that's the impression I've been getting from the tiny details I've been leaked.

My source is being more stubbornly tight lipped than usual.

I'm going to bug one of the guys I have been e-friends with who now works with CMON.

He owes me one anyway.

I shook my magic 8 ball and it said "miniatures doubtful", so take that as you will.

Does your magic 8 ball have any kind of inside knowledge the rest of ours don't?

I also got a ticket with the same exact result from a Zoltar fortune telling machine so it's a double confirmation, say what you will about the 8 ball but Zoltar is never wrong.

Who you ask?

I'm more than a tad leery of CMON at this stage. On time is ... not really what they do. Outside of Zombiecide, the thing sthey've been associated with are ... well.

Well, that's not true at all, and it's been pretty public why Relic Knights is late.

Rivet Wars was about 6 weeks late (and we were kept well informed), and has pretty much been praised by everyone that backed it. I'm not saying CMON has a perfect track record, but they have been getting consistently better.

Yeup. I almost don't include Rivet Wars because they told us about the very specific manufacturing problem pretty much right away. It still shipped at the end of Q4 2013 so it was only 'barely' late.

Plus the overall quality of the product makes up for a lot of it.

Well, I'll give them a pass on RK. In fact, SPM and RK is so gakky, that they pretty much split up over that. With SPM giving up a gak ton of money...
