I just got my college dorm assignment. And what do I get Assigned? A triple in Clean & Sober living. Where you cant play video games or loud music.
What the? All because I checked a box that said "When I study I like to stay focused." So no more Blue Moon, Sierra Nevadas or or Limaritas for making studying easier.
And No video games?
Oh well, atleast I get cable TV.

Why are you living in a dorm instead of an off-campus apartment?

Money, The way it is set up, I cant use Financial aid for rooms. Its weird. And Im in the middle of nowhere.

I wouldn't worry too much, then. Just appraise your roommates, and if they're cool be discreet. A good backpack or gym bag will be your best friend.

Additionally, I'm having a hard time understanding why a school would ban video games in a "clean and sober" dorm, while having co-ed bathrooms (which aren't as titillating as you might think) in the same. Weird.

They arent banned, just not on the TV.

Wait, what? The type of dorm you live in dictates what leisure activities you can do in your own time at "home", outside of class?

What sort of totalitarian control freak institution is this? The Peoples' University of North Korea?

A noise restriction is fair and reasonable (and that would have been useful for me in my first year of Uni when I had a Nigerian guy below my bedroom frequently playing music at 4am so loud my room reverberated. Great guy but god was his music annoying).

But banning video games?
