On the subject of The Hobbit, I believe I've read Peter Jackson plays 40k, with DKoK, which makes s sense as he is maybe the only man rich enough to afford a full FW guard regiment.

So sad that we have to use the past tense now. He was the classic example of a celebrity 40k player, as well as a brilliant actor.

And I'm sure I heard that Will Smith plays some sort of tabletop game...

Vin Diesel has Black Templar.

That guy from that Hunger Games-ish movie that girls like plays 40K (and Fantasy too, I think).

IIRC, Billy Crystal is also a 40k player. He and Williams were good friends.

If that's true, Christopher Lee just got even cooler! The oldest living musician to have a top 40 hit, one of the most epic voices on the planet, flipping Saruman and a 40k player!

I'm not 100% if he plays/collects or not, but Ron Perlman is a huge mega nerd, to the point his kids at one point were embarrassed by how truly nerdy their dad is!

At a LotR event in Toronto years ago, I found out that Bruce Hopkins' (aka Gamling) son was a big 40k/LotR player. We ended up getting Craig Parker (Haldir) into the Space Wolves & Gaunt's Ghosts novels as well.

About a year ago, Robin Williams did a reddit ama, where he said he had several armies, but that he hasn't actually played

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

Vin Diesel plays BA. Once he went into a GW in so cal, bought a bunch of stuff and asked if they could shut the store down for a couple hours so he could get a game in without being bombarded. Of course they said no, but he definitely plays. I've heard Bruce Willis has the largest IG army in the US which wouldn't surprise me. Lots of musicians play, probably far more than we know about publicly.

Maybe we should indoctrinate more... We'll pick someone, find out their address, and then everyone start posting them individual Space Marines, with nothing but a note that reads "one of us!" (that should at least make them curious). Then we just keep bombarding them like that until they agree to play.

In the end of Enemy of the State he and his son are sitting on a couch reading over a GW flyer or White Dwarf.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.
