Psycho-Pass: The Novel is written by Makoto Fukami, one of the anime's script writers. There's more violence and sex in the novel and several scenes not present in Psycho-Pass, although some are incorporated into the Extended Edition. Volume A and B were published on February 4 and April 4, 2013.

Log Horizon, you just keep on delivering! Last week it was filled with awesome action, this one had good humor, some more background information of some characters and light-hearted fun. (Gods, I missed Rudy being Rudy )
Soladrin wrote: Durarara is already amazing. New characters are great!
The twin-sisters dude, the damn girls are hilarious xD I was laughing so hard with the first's presentation. They were already pretty good the first season, but they had almost no screen-time.
The completely crazy way they tell the story... It's so random and amazing I missed it so much.
Fun-fact: totally copied all the names the otaku-couple mentioned and searched for all of them. Swallowtail is a freakin' buttler cafe Totally copying all the names for a visit later this year
It kinda pisses me off how Inaho seems to be only one who can do gak. The same thing happened in S1, I have no idea how humanity wasn't completely wiped out while he was out.
Everything else was damn cool and I really want to see Deucalion kicking ass. Giant war-ships are so damn sexy.

If you use Chrome like a civilized person there's a tool that'll translate quests and stuff for you that makes it pretty easy.
This seems like an excellent guide.
Right, I'll be sure not to touch this site even with a washing pole ever again, 'cause I have a feeling if I win a lottery slot and I start playing KanColle my job productivity will be even lower as in "You're fired!" levels

That was such a fun series. Very much like an anime adaptation of D&D and i hear that was actually the intention or what was done.
Does anybody have good recommendations for anime?
I didn't complete finish watching 'monster' but i liked what i saw. I have also been liking 'parasyte: the maxim' which can't release enough episodes to satisfy me.
I'm only halfway done with 'monster' and should probably go back to it. Berserk is another good sounding anime but i'd rather have more episodes or a new series (think i heard there was a few movies or a new show coming for it). Honestly berserk seems almost never updated and it seems to be taking forever.
So i dunno possibly a psychological/philosophical mind-f**k of an anime would be good. I hear there's quite a few of those and i never really finished evangelion either. I'd prefer to watch a show with less big robots and pre-teens or harem girls. I like harem girls as they're hot but it's a clear sign the story was put on the back-burner. Though it is a harem 'freezing' seemed messed up but at times needlessly cruel as if people are even sh*ttier than normal (which is a feat i must admit). Gotta admit though 'freezing' knows how to draw attractive women if nothing else.
Ergo Proxy. Welcome to mind-feth central, with no mechs, teens (there's no pre-teens in Evangelion, ffs, learn your facts!) or harem (if you consider Evangelion an harem, I'm b+tch slapping you ) and the only anime I had to double check more than once I was watching the right ep and I didn't skip any because of how different the end of the previous and the start of the next was.
Serial Experiments Lain - WELCOME TO MIND-feth LAND!! Population: YOU!

So I'm watching Chaos Head, Servant X Service, and that one with the overlong title that translates into roughly: "No matter what, it's your fault I'm not popular" all at the same time. Because anime night is wierd on my street.
Anyway, I'm digging Servant X Service and the really long title one, but Chaos Head? Man, I'm hating that. I hate literally *all* of the characters (which hasn't happened since Evangellion) and the only reason I'm still watching it is because the show started with a flash-forward of the main character being impaled on an impossibly huge sword and I want to see that happen again, because I hate that guy so very, very much.
Fun fact: Chaos;Head is from the same guys that did the Steins;Gate and my main reason for wanting to watch it; but I have only managed the first 3 eps... It wasn't as enjoyable as S;G, that's for sure, It's pretty strange and somewhat mind-feth too. And I agree with the MC hate too. And I've never really understood wtf is going on with the anime girl that's giving him advices: Split personality? Spirits? Hallucinations? I really have to try and endure it and finish it.

-tan A small child's slurred mispronunciation of -chan. If it is used by an adult at all, unless speaking to an infant or toddler, the person is most likely either being sarcastic, ironic, or a poser Kawaiiko. A non-anime example of this is a certain fast food fried chicken chain's mascot in Japanese advertising, an adorable little girl, "Bisuke-tan," who carries an enormous biscuit on top of her head; her name can probably best be translated as "Widdle Biscuit." This is also how the name for the OS-tans, the Super-Deformed mascots representing operating systems and software programs, was derived — and by extension, any young female anthropomorphization.
-tama,,-chama Similarly, these are baby-talk versions of -sama, with the exception of "obocchama" which is used to address the son of someone who is of higher social standing, roughly equivalent to "young master."
Getting annoyed with Inaho though. So, the reason he's so great now is his mechanical eye. Why the hell could they not put the same targeting software into the actual Mechs? This makes no sense.
Of course they don't. That way, Inaho would stop being a Mary Sue. We totally don't want Inaho to stop being a Mary Sue, right?

Maybe it's because they don't have to introduce many of the characters, but IMHO this season is kicking the ass of Season 1. It's being so much better <3

To me this episode was a huge moment of happiness as I was feeling warm, fuzzy and happy inside by the end of it. I was afraid it was going to take a turn for the worse after the revelation but I'm so damn happy it didn't.
Spoiler:
And the bartender did that awesome "Will 5 minutes be enough?" joke

I'm gonna chalk that one up to "Drunk Posting"
I honestly can't recommend "Try Fighters" enough . This "expensive add campaign" is more entertaining than other Gundam shows, I have now finished watching the episodes released after the break and damn, the hype and over-the-top action just goes to ridiculous levels.
You KNOW a Gundam is awesome when it's burning ... IN SPACE. Or explodes an entire asteroid with his burning fist.
Gods, Transformers was nothing more than an expensive add campaign too and is one of my favorite shows of all time: Not many work, but when they do, DAMN.

I have been slowly getting up to date thanks to my daily work route (so this is my opinion missing 4 eps before being up-to-date): It's a shounen, but a very different shounen from the usual. It has decent character development in a short time, the main characters are interesting and quite funny, one of that main guys is completely OP and there's a good reason for it, and the battles are fast and furious (and not many of them tbh, hence a lot of time for char development). This is a bonus for some people too: There's no fan-service. None whatsoever so far.
Stuff you may dislike: This falls under the trope of kids with powers, so most "fighters" are between 13-18. Except one character, it just makes no sense but hell, that's anime for you.
Also, the art style. This anime is from "Toei Animation" , AKA, "The guys that are doing One Piece for over 15 years" - It feels like their entire team is addicted to One Piece's art style. When I started watching it, the characters looked so simplified so... "One Piece-d" I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy the show, but thankfully the anime is so entertaining I just don't care about it anymore.
Ah yes, and no blood or gore. This is family-fun oriented although there are some casualties.
Now, about KanColle. Episode 3 was Madoka Magica all over again. The death flags were popping up like crazy, but c'mon!!! I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE GIRLS UND PANZER, GODS DAMN IT!
Spoiler:
I can't believe ship girls die in this anime :( I saw the flags, but I couldn't believe it. Then outta nowhere BAM! A girl dies. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CUTE AND FUN SHOW?!

Now, a "Voltron" Gundam showed up. I gak you not, 3 different Animal mechs transform and combine into the Gundam "Tryon 3".
The ENTIRE stadium is in a shocked and stunned silence. Some are truly puzzled. Only one guy is freakin' happy with just happened and it's one of our main characters The mega expert of the "Gunpla" (or Meijin) is stunned too but he manages to recover: "Dare I say ... GUNPLA IS FREEDOM!".

Also, what exactly does "Kantai" mean? Because I figure KanColle is one of those weird 'odd-abbreviations' the Japanese do, for Kantai Collectors (based on what the game sounds like). Collectors is simple enough. But what's Kantai?
艦隊
かんたい (KANTAI) (naval) fleet; armada
I dare say, it kinda makes sense

Fails my fat ass! I DID NOT expect that, ok? I'm not a naval history buff, I just love big fething ships with big fething cannons like the Yamato, so I had no idea about what happened at the "W" island. I thought KanColle would be like "Girls und Panzer" but with ships instead of Tanks so I was dumbfounded when it happened.
According to Reddit, the "Japanese" twitter was in flames too: no one liked the idea of watching their "ship-waifu" sinking.

From what the trans nationals (mostly Japanese) are saying on my KanColle forum, it's not so much a love for Kisaragi, but fear for their own shipfus. I think it'll be good if balanced right, it means there will actually be a bit of arc, some character development perchance beyond Fubuki doing her Rocky routine. The actual chance for being sunk provides a little actual weight beyond the usual moeimu. Like I said I just don't want them to go too far. Madoka territory would make me a sad teitoku.
I kinda felt Kisaragi's death was poorly handled however, they just ran around setting up as many death flags around her as they could...
Spoiler:
Yes, you are right, that's what I wanted to say with the "No one liked the idea of their ship-waifu sinking", that there's a possibility of their own going down.
And yes, I really don't want madoka territory either, but it was yet again the ep3 that said "Hey, this gak ain't all sunshine and rainbows!". I just want my fun and cute moe from KanColle, I have plenty of drama and tear-jerking moments thanks to Death Parade.
Oh, and yes, the flags were there, I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe they would actually do it. Even when she said "I'll tell you after you return from the mission", that MASSIVE flag got me thinking but yet I thought "Nah. it can't be. It just can't be."

Soladrin wrote:So, because you guys keep going on about this kancol thing I tried the first two episodes.
I have lost a bit of respect for all of you. This may be the most blatant fan servicy merchandise selling anime I have ever seen. Plus all the designs are terrible. I am genuinely annoyed it's well animated while far better shows get nowhere near this treatment.
Ah c'mon, it doesn't have that much fan service, only when the ships are wrecked. Enjoy the moe, big cannons and explosions and lolis

And yeah, that scene does kick major ass.

HERESY! HERESY OF THE WORST KIND! Not even exterminatus can help with that heresy! Frak!!
Ok, Log Horizon just keeps getting better. I love how they always, and it seems it's always, drop a bombshell of lore outta nowhere and in the most casual possible way. Loved to see Rudy and Isuzu getting closer too.
Not only that, the mysterious element they have been slowly adding with the Odyssey Knights, I'm really, REALLY curious to know what's going on with them.
EDIT: An Hydra Gundam.... A MOTHER FRAKKING HYDRA GUNDAM!!! Ok, first season's mechs were very standard, and I mean VERY standard besides a single exception, the bear one; This second season they just said "People, it's time to turn it up to 11!". Voltron, Fairy Gundam, SDs, Dragons and now an Hydra.

Funny enough, the movies' Shinji isn't actually that bad. I actually felt he was a decent enough character, I was very surprised how they managed that. They turned one of the most infuriating characters into a nice enough guy.
Then I saw 3.0
Then the world started making sense again.
Frak Shinji.
Frak him to Hell.

And elfen lied is... potentially problematic, from what I've heard. I don't recall specifics, but I think it's kinda NSFW for some reason.
The plot is divine, everyone I know that watched it loved it to hell and back, expect MASSIVE gore. Ridiculous quantities of blood and ripped members. It's like an anime of the 80s, only with better animation. And boobies. I know, THE HORROR, how dare they show boobs!
I haven't seen Elfen Lied.
Because I am a big baby-man.
Oddly enough, I have seen Higurashi no naku koro ni, which follows the same sort of idea; cutesy moe kids getting brutally murdered, accompanied by well written character arcs.
Never saw Elfen Lied either. Not my cup of tea, I hated the thing after episode one and what happened to a poor character.
I read the manga, though. Feth, I gave up around half of it, when a big flashback happened. That gak was far too fethed up and sad, that was the point I said "Ok, this is where I draw my line."
And exactly like you, I saw Higurashi and loved it.

Slarg232 wrote: So I've been watching Akame Ga Kill, and I'd have to say I'm enjoying it quite a bit. The main characters are likable, the action is pretty good, and it's not over the top anime like a lot of anime.
Basically it follows a group of assassins trying to topple a corrupt government with the help of X/48 "Imperial Arms", weapons capable of great feats, killing in one cut, cutting anything, becoming more powerful the more the user is in danger, etc.
I'm only on episode ten, but so far it's a solid 8/10 experience.
Akame ga kill has a massive problem. The villains are all far more interesting and likable.
As of right now, I disagree; Wave is the only one that really seems like a stand up guy dragged into a team (I've only seen him in two episodes or so though). The Mad Scientist is literally every Mad Scientist stereotype thrown together, Esdeath is a creep, and the police girl can go die in a fire.
Okay, focus on the interesting part then.
I must agree with Soladrin. I hated the "heroes". I was rooting so damn much for the villains.
The Pyro is the sweetest and most gentle person, Wave is like the main character but actually cool, Esdeath is so EVIL it's awesome (and Evil is Sexy), the police girl is like a female Judge Dredd (JUUUUUSTICEEEEE!!!!), the Mad Scientist is hilarious, the Angel is a level-headed dude and kinda nice... the one who's a bit more dull is Akane's sister and that's it.
Frak, how I love the evil team, I wish there were more characters like them around.
