Hello all. I have noticed that there is a topic dedicated to discus what army we would like to remove, but not one dedicated what we would like to add. So I have decided to start up one. Pick an answer and just justify why you would like to have that faction added. If there are some factions that I haven't included into poll I will happily add it. Also factions created by third party does not count, here is a discussion about factions added to main game. I have also included factions that might be added later this year or was just rumored, just to see how popular they might be.

So my choice is Dark Mechanicus. I really want to see armies of dark magos and be able to field armies able to use mix of chaos and xeno technologies.

I think there are enough armies. but if I were to add one it would be one of the many many alien empires that are on the same level as the Tau. So Umbra, the Space Vampires in the Ghoul Stars, those guys.

Clearly we need more space marines codices.

I vote that we stop making new codices for every obscure splinter of every army and instead consolidate into larger, more detailed codices which cover the same amount of info.

I would love that and that might happen in future with some factions rolled back into main codex like Dark Templars.

More variety will always be welcomed, and splinter factions and minor auxillaries need to be less common, it is all to easy to crunch them together or with mini supplements, not a full codex

I would agree in some cases and disagree in other.
It's beyond me why storm troopers of imperial guard have became their own faction, but I can understand why harlequins became a proper faction.

Tau auxiliaries, Kroot mercs, or Eldar exodites would all be welcome, fleshing out the xenos more. IoM is so bloated.

I actually think a Dark Mechanicus codex would be amazing :-)

Now I'm hoping that when the normal mechanicus codex comes out there are rules for using their dark brethren!

Exodites.

Barring that, a supplement called Heroes of the Dark Millenium. All it contains is special characters, nothing else. Each one includes rules to subtly modify how your army plays (like SM characters last edition) in order to make your army represent the Valhallans, the Kabal of the Slashed Eye, the Emperor's Spears, or whatever other faction is included. I would so buy that.

I voted Dark Mechanius, as I discounted a codex we already know we're getting (mechanius) I think something like that could give chaos a real shot in the arm. Chaos should be as varied as the IoM at the least. and I think a army built around deamon engines could be really fun.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

None. No more armies. GW can't even keep the ones they have updated and well-designed, the last thing they need to do is divide their limited resources between even more armies.

Holy crap, a thread that's actually got a purpose and isn't just about being negative and trolling people who play armies you don't like.

Anyway, I wouldn't really want to add it as a standalone "army" but I'd like to see the Tau codex fleshed out with more alien auxiliaries, or possibly a supplement if it has to be that way. There are so many possibilities there, with Tau canonically already having a ton of alien allies besides just the Kroot and Vespid. Lots of opportunities for some new, interesting kits to add to the line.

I think that it would be cool if there were more Tau Auxiliaries available. They might not need a whole codex or supplement though. The fluff says that so many races have joined the cause of the Greater Good, and I want to see more than two (Kroot and Vespid). I've heard that there have been models of human (Gue'vesa) auxiliaries (Forge World?), but I would like to see these be more mainstream.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

There haven't. FW published rules for a gue'vesa unit (essentially just a squad of basic guardsmen with nothing but lasguns) that is only available in specific campaign missions, but there have never been any official models. Any gue'vesa models you might have seen or heard of have been player-made conversions.

I was almost going to pick IG regiment before I came to the realization: the IG doesn't need another codex, what would be great is an expanded range for regiments besides cadians and catachans. Seeing more SL, DKoK, valhallans, etc. would give the Guard the variety to make it seem more like a diverse, galaxy-spanning military force. But absolutely not a new codex. I'm thinking about the tempestus book right now.

TL;DR I withheld my vote, maybe everyone pick Squats I guess because they existed at some point, I wasn't expecting some kind of Geedubs inquisition about them.

I'd enjoy seeing a few new regiments for IG as well. I'd love to see an unruly Hive Ganger group of guard as well as new Penal Legions and maybe some that were based on the personal levies of really rich planets that could have some more expensive equipment with gear reminiscent of nobles personal bodyguards. Almost like ninjas. I imagine the suits worn by Fremen in Dune.

But anyways, just some more varieties and updated models really. I'd like to see females integrated into guard units as well. It's okay in plenty of fluff, so I'd like to see it okay on the board.

Seriously, Gee Dubs, we already have Witch Hunters (AS), and Daemonhunters (GK), so why has the Deathwatch branch been neglected?
