Well crap. Guys, I'm starting another army.
So yea, I'm starting an epic army. Which is nice. I will start by using NetEA rules and we can have a banter and skub fight about the best version. I started by picking up about five exocrines, a dominatrix, and a GW sprue, but I will probably end up using onslaught minis because the spure is so small. So the original models go to paint testing, as well as being mixed in with the full force, of course. So on to the first version of the army list!
NetEA: Hive Fleet Onachus Tyranid list (1k points)
Tyranid Swarm (S)
-Tyranid Warriors
-10x Hormagants
Tyranid Swarm (S)
-10x Termagants
-Hive Tyrant
Harridan Swarm (S)
-Harridan
-5x Gargoyles
Exocrine Swarm (S)
-3x Exocrine
Feedback on this list is greatly appreciated. On to testing paint schemes... See you in a few hours!

Alright so I've painted a few GW termies (and broke my eyes in the process) with a few different schemes. I have a few more I want to try (black skin, turqoise carapace) but I'm getting close to actually starting the army!
Thoughts on these schemes? Tips? Rage?
Untile next time,

Cute nice realistic tones. Onslaught Games has some great not Tyranids as well. Word of advice leave 6mm infantry on sprue or make your own with a stick of some kind. I use plant labels and tacky glue as they stick but can be easily removed without hassle.

I always had a soft spot for Epic. Or 'Space Marine' and 'Titan Legions' when I was a kid. Had a few stands of SMs and Dreanoughts, but none of us knew how to play, as there was no internet and none of us got the game for Christmas or birthdays. We self taught some basics from reading battle reports in White Dwarf. The joys.
Oh, great army btw!

Awww yiss! So I was away because quite frankly I wasn't sold on the scheme + my stirland mud basing, but I will go with the same method as with my sons of malice, which is brighter.
Time to figure out some proxies! I'll be refining my list, and will get my infantry from onslaught. Because onslaught is the best. There are larger tyranids though, and I need proxies from those. So without further ado: IDEAS!
Carnifex: http://www.darkrealmminiatures.co.uk/store/home.php?cat=27
Zoanthrope (or warrior variants): http://www.darkrealmminiatures.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=245&cat=25&page=1
Dominatrix: I currently own one ( ) but incase I need another I'll either use a gaunt or stealer conversion or THIS THING http://www.darkrealmminiatures.co.uk/store/product.php?productid=246&cat=26&page=1
Trygon: Geedubs actually still carriest the old rippers. Those should be about right IMO. They just need a set or so more talons,
Now for the part I'm stumped on.
I own three old exocrines. The slugnids appear to be quite expensive. Any proxies?

The old rippers are a fair bit smaller than trygons, I tried it a while back before obtaining proper trygons and the size difference is noticeable.
Onslaught miniatures cover you for lictors, warriors, gargoyles, termagants, hormagaunts and genestealers though.

Depends what kind of Trygon as well. The new 40k style or the old Epic one. The Epic one is more of a lumbering tank while the 40k one is more of a wyrm.
