Keep it, smuggle it to inhabited worlds, help the swarm spread. I find the little buggers cute and the hive-mind is certainly smart enough to not kill such a useful rescource / agent. Probably end up getting adsorbed and reconstructed as a Tervigon or something at some point (The hive mind has been shown to posses the ability to transfer souls to new bodies, sometimes multiple).

I will become one of them. Learn its customs, it's language and it's way of life. I will eventually bridge the gap between mankind and nidkind and over the course of a few years I will enact a breeding program spear headed by me. We will take some of their women and they will take some of ours. We will then interbreed so that our cultures merge and become one.

I will name my nidchild Clackity Howell and we will have a normal life. I will respect his mothers wishes when it comes to their way of life and she will respect mine. Our sun will be happy.

As the non hybrids leave we become our own little community surrounded by miles of others. The government does not pour funds into our area so our schools worsen and infrastructure collapses.

To try turn hybrids away from a life of violence we initiate peaceful protests to raise awareness. My son leads this movement and regularly marches in non hybrid territories. He once came home missing a limb which we quickly had to grow back for him.

Progress was being made until there was a split in the movement. A group of hybrids came in a time machine and spoke of a world where hybrids rule over non hybrids. One group of hybrids decided that violence would quicken the process. It became clear that the missing astronauts knew these hybrids. The community feared for themselves when they heard the future will be one under hybrid domination.

And thus started the hybrid wars.

During this conflict hybrids rose over the non hybrids and the world was in ruins. My son was forced to imprison me with the rest of the non hybrids as per law and I did not see him or my nidwife again. All I wanted was to bring our cultures together and I technically did.
