Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

Time to pick a theme for next month's challenge! As always, 2 days to get your votes in. Your options this month are:

Might Makes Right: While some combatants resort to magical tricks or sneaky subterfuge, many armies and factions boast leaders and warrior for whom sheer martial prowess and force is the true path to victory. From a Terminator Armour-clad Space Marine to a mighty Orc chieftain, your entry should be a model that represents great physical strength or power.

Objective Secured: What is a battle without something to fight over? Your entry should be something usable as an objective marker, and can be anything suitable for this, from a fancy terrain piece to a small diorama.

Outgunned, Outmanned: Every universe has its underdogs. From the Juve in the Underhives of Necromunda to the humble militia of a rural village, your entry should represent a force or individual who typically face foes vastly more dangerous than themselves.

Cutting Edge: Technology can tip the balance of any battle. Your entry should be something that deployed advanced weaponry or equipment to the battlefield, from the engineer manning an fearsome war machine to the Tau Commander in a state-of-the-art battlesuit.

Picked Outgunned, Outmanned. I'll be working on my Necromunda gang the next few months, and have a Juve already built, just need to put some paint on him.

Might Makes Right sounds like a great excuse to paint up my Tartaros Terminators.

I voted for Cutting Edge, as like Nevelon I have plenty of Primaris Marines that need to be painted. I could do something for most of them if they get picked though.
Might Makes Right: Possibly a couple of Knight Armiger Helverins, or else I'm sure I've got a couple of Marine characters that could fit the bill. Even Terminators, although I have little need to paint them seeing as they suck in game.
Objective Secured: This one would be very tough for me. I really don't have any objective markers of any kind, nor do I think I can easily throw any together. Possibly I could do some of the terrain type stuff from Dreadball Xtreme, as there are a couple of goals in there.
Outgunned, Outmanned: Tau Pathfinders are often placed in grave danger as they scout ahead of the main force, so they would probably be my entry.
Cutting Edge: Primaris Hellblasters would most likely be my entry, as they fit the bill in addition to needing to be painted anyway (for a big tournament in a couple of months).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

You love the T-Rex. Its both a hero and a Villain in the first two movies. It is the "king" of dinosaurs. Its the best. You love your T-rex.
Then comes along the frakking Spinosaurus who kills the T-rex, and the movie says "LOVE THIS NOW! HE IS BETTER" But...in your heart, you love the T-rex, who shouldn't have lost to no stupid Spinosaurus. So you hate the movie. And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

I may be entering this challenge for the first time this month, so I'm curious about some of the rules. When do the challenges start? At the beginning of the month? Can I use a model or models that have been assembled and primed probably over a year ago but haven't yet been painted?

Thanks

You can see all the rules in the OP of any of the threads, but to answer those specific questions, they start on the 1st of each month and yes, you can enter assembled/primed stuff so long as you haven't started the actual painting yet, you just need to submit a picture showing it in the state it's at at the start.

Might makes Right ! I finished scratch building a chaos knight weeks ago, it would have been ready for july. But since I am an idiot, I completely destroyed its torso this afternoon as its core component 'would make a nice reactor for a dreadclaw'.
Still doable though.

Chose the objective one. Would be an interesting project. But if Might Makes Right wins I've a good project in the planning stages to fulfill the requirements.

That many sharp and stabby bits looks more “cutting edge” to me

But yea, lots of might there as well.

It seems somehow fitting that might makes right should win for a war gaming poll.
