I'm doing this list from my head, so bear with me. Many of the units in this game are not as effective as they could be, I just like how I modled them. That being said I could use some suggestions.

Hive tyrant, +1 BS, +1 strenth, Toxic Miasma, Wings, 2x Sything Talons, warp blast

Broodlord. +1 strenth, +1 armor save. 6 genestealer retinue with +1 armor save.

6 warriors. +1 BS, +1 strenth, +1 armor save, one venom cannon and 5 deathspitters. all have sything tlons

carnifex. 2x sything talons, flesh hooks, +1 inititive, +1 WS.

carnifex. 2x sything talons, flesh hooks, +1 inititive, +1 WS.

12 genestealers, +1 armor save.

28 Spineguants

28 spineguants

5 ripper swarms

Ravenor, rending and sything talons.

Ravenor, rending and sything talons.

Ravenor, rending and sything talons.

carnifex. +1 save, +1 inititive, toxic miasma, +1 WS, +1 wound, tusked, club tail, 2x sything talons

carnifex. +1 BS, spinebanks, 2x devourers, +1 save

3 zoanthropes. all have warpblast, one has synapse.

I know everyone here hates the dual Sything talon carnifex. I just like how they look. Plus, everyone here tends to avoid them, so maybe i could use them to either herd enemies in the right direction, or sit on objectives.

Venom cannons. You need venom cannons.

agreed, venom cannons are a must.

shooty heavy support carnifexes are your best friend. put them in heavy cover and they are pretty much impervious to all but the most concentrated shooting.

barbred strangler, and venom cannon. a strength 10 gun and a str 8 pie plate on a 2+ save, tough 6 monster with a 4+ cover save. that is a tough nut to crack and your only reliable ranged tank hunters.

If you really want a scytal fex, just switching out one pair for the VC will still have nearly the same effect (you are only down one attack) with the added advantage that you are more than twice as dangerous.

I have a couple problems with the list.

First, you can't take enhanced senses for improved ballistic skill if you take warp blast with your Hive Tyrant.

Second, don't bother giving the Brood Lord a 3+ save, because most of the time he won't be able to use it following the mixed armor rules.

Third, all of your Carnifexes need to be rethought.  As others have said, you need venom cannons, and on the Elite Carnifexes, you need twin-linked devourers.  Otherwise they spend the entire game chasing people with a 6" move and never seeing combat.  Your opponent can kill everything in the list that moves more than 6" in a couple turns, and then just hide and he wins on VP.  You need a ranged threat.

Good for you for selecting models based on what you like. If you like carnis with talons, then go with them.

One minor thing I would recommend - give the warriors rending claws rather than talons. 12 RC attacks are much more threatening than 18 normal attacks. But if your theme is a taloned army, then disregard.
