Okay, so I joined the server and took some screenshots and scale for the warlord titan
problem: this is going to require over 1000 stacks of stone and colored wool at the scale he is using, and i'd have to dig my whole ocean area down to bedrock O_O
so i'm going to start planning out my own, about 25% layers shorter, however I'm going to ask that everyone scale up their sheep farms and start mass donating wool, I'll start a donation area near the stormraven that drops you off near the statue.
The other issue is this thing will have to be lit up like a christmas tree, half slabs or other stupid tricks won't work, but I think that'll make it look stupid :-/

Thanks for the land Dem/Khaos.
The libary is partly done. The main libary is up and the farm will become a records office/underground archives.
If anyone has wood/paper/books/bookshelves, they would be really appreciated.

Just be sure to know that books will soon require leather as well, so we should get a cattle ranch up and running.

Hey Biccat
I know this is from ages ago now, but yesterday I came across another possible explanation for the "melon stalks destroyed but not the melons" problem you were having.
Light levels.
Plant some melons in a low light place and the stalks soon pop back out (the ground remains tilled). Only with enough light do they stay planted.
Were there enough/had somebody taken the torches from your farm? (or did it just go to night? etc)

Interesting, but unlikely. The stalks were outdoors and when I noticed the issue it was daytime ( IIRC). Plus, the farm had been around for a long time, these weren't young stalks.
Note that I didn't see any seeds lying on the ground, just tilled earth.

Yep, but entities only hang around for 5 minutes and the day/night cycle does continue when you're not online. Example: someone takes the torches, it becomes night, stalks pop off, entities expired, it becomes day, you log in. Automatically Appended Next Post: Ooh, scratch that theory:

Unless someone covered up your melon farm it shouldn't have happened, my mistake.

aye, you can do the section on the museum
the original tome can go live in the museum if you want
...also, I still have the first melon seeds on the server from when abandoned mines were added. Next time I'm on, I'll head to the museum with them.

Put them in a chest in the wildlife area.
Also, the Public Records Office and surface level of the Archives is now built next to the libary.
The archives themselves need a huge amount of bookshelves and a large proportion of it is currently a tree farm.

It's whenever I have time (but I usually try to stick to "every two days"), however, my big desktop machine I use for rendering the map is currently in a major huff and refusing to cooperate with anything, so until I get it fixed, the map won't be updated. However, if it continues to be in a huff for too long I may just nuke it from orbit and re-install everything.

IndustrialCraft 2 has booze, I don't think it will be added to vanilla though.
And I THINK I have some supplies in my suburbia home that the library and SCDF can use, have at it because I haven't been on in a while
