If you guys had to pick one Gundam series to survive an apocalypse, which one would it be?

Right. I mean, there are so many ways to take that question.

I mean, does it mean the characters themselves survived an apocalypse? Or is it the DVDs survived and were found centuries later by archeologists trying to learn about the previous society?

Its a little vague, help us out here

Does anyone else find the Steins;gate dub to be really good?
I'm surprised how competent it is.
Then again, the last few dubbed shows I watched was from gonzo, so...yeah.

Speaking of which, is Gonzo normally terrible? I find their anime to be lackluster.

They have some great stuff, although I'll have to double check before I recommend anything. I don't know anything about their dubs though, I tend to avoid dubs in general after experiencing some that made good anime hard to watch.

I can't say as I've never watched a full series of Gundam beyond G Gundam, which while I enjoyed, the burning fist is just too funny to me now. So I've been trying to find the various Gundam series online so I can watch them all... because I've got nothing else to binge and I've caught up on my spring season schedule enough that I can just watch the new episodes at work during my lunch break.

Finished that Gargantia Something Something Something...

Got pretty epic there at the end.

Spoiler:

I mean sure, the whole soylent green moment with the whalesquid was kind of expected... but the final fight was pretty durn entertaining. I especially liked the philosophical debate, which while not uncommon for an anime, was kind of humorous/awesome when had between two giant robot pilot support AIs.. one of which had decided it was god. And I think the MC's mecha sacrificing itself to suicide bomb the other superior mecha/wannabe-god was right up there with Data saving Picard in that last star trek movie (that was based on TNG anyway.. i guess there are other new ones).

Kind of a neat show overall, and it only had the 13 episodes. Now to find something else...

For me it would have to be either SEED or 00. Hard call, because I feel like the story was better in 00, but the 80's style art was really hard to watch now.

Just watched Bleach The Movie: Fade to Black. Not bad. The plot was pretty irrelevant as usual, but it was a good excuse for Ichigo to duke it out with some of the captains and for most of everybody to spam their special moves against a really big freaky monster. Kind of nice to have it all condensed into 90 minutes, really cut down on the boring stuff that usually makes it into episodes.

I especially liked the philosophical debate

I find it rather shallow. It's evil Harmony versus evil Purity (Sid Meier's civilization). Gargantia preaches coexistence, based on tradition and half forgotten past, itself not experiencing the eternal war that followed the initial conflict and exodus. What I missed is more detailed interaction or observance of customs from another clan of ships, this would give more more of an idea on just how much established is the philosophy and customs of Gargantia. The interaction between MC and the crew of Gargantia is of a sort an inverse case of noble savage trope.

Just for a laugh (Rising Tide expansion):

Ahh, I didn't really think into it too hard, I just liked that there were a couple of giant robot AIs arguing about philosophy.

I usually don't like Figmas because I dislike how the articulations kinda ruin the figure, but gosh darn it, it looks perfect for Sidonia's Tsugumori!

I'll probably give the new DB...S? a shot. For nostalgia purposes at the least.

Just finished watching Magi: whatever the first season is called, and Magi: Kingdom of Magic. While the pacing was a bit different, it was a fun show that ended up having some silly epic moments towards the end. Massive magic team ups were had, mountains were dropped, and ultimately good will was more important than badassery. Cool show. Is there going to be more? Plot threads definitely still exist although they could just hang out forever and not be resolved and it would be.. ok-ish.

I really, really hope so, since on reading the manga, the span covered by the second series does a lot of set-up for things that have paid off after that point.

I liked that though you'd expect the series to go on a trail of DBZ-style power escalation after the big Magnostadt battle, it instead leads to a more political / cold war situation. Also, the most recent arc to finish was a flashback that finally fills in big questions of the series, like Aladdin & Ugo's origins, why there are four magi, and just who Solomon actually was. It's pretty amazingly epic stuff.

I agree. It was cool, but it really seemed like it was missing season 1 and 3 and what we got was season 2.

Ok guys, I'm thinking of a show and I have no clue what it was called (It's kinda older).

The main concept is that there were these people with angel wings running around that people hate, with the main character being a half-angel half-human, piloting a giant dragon mech, while fighting his brother who has a giant skeletal arm.

I remember hating it when I was a kid, but I hated Batman Beyond as well so my tastes weren't exactly good.

Escaflowne (sp?). Good series. Not a good movie.

Maybe. Main character looks about right, though I swear it was better drawn than that....

I have no idea what other angel winged, dragon Mecha pilot there could be from that time, or any for that matter.

Watching the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and while I don't mind the 1979 animation, Jesus is the OP terrible. Other than that, the series has been enjoyable thus far

I've been watching Ghost Hound lately, great series hard to follow sometimes though. It's definitely a show I have to chill out and pay all of my attention to it.
