I’ve posted this guy before but I finally finished Mortarion’s base. It’s not perfect but I’m reasonably happy with it, mostly as it’s finished!

Also a few pic of Little H ( who’s now taller than me...) and my WIP.

That's some fine work by the both of you. I'm big on basing so can appreciate it when one takes the time to make a base that improves the overall look of the figure. Those marines are coming along beautifully.

Thanks Gits, for the first time in a long time Little H has got into painting, he always hated it but seems to be getting a bit more out of it now and listening on how to improve !
The base for Mortarion was the first time I tried to use scenic water and I made a right arse of it! It’s not great now but it was horrifically bad for a while ! I am over with swamps

Little H got Big ol Two Fists done tonight, I helped out with the decals , cloak laurels aren’t awesome but do-able, and at my house thats a win !

That's very good work! Clean, sharp, like the color scheme... give Little H my compliments! You should teach him how to drill out the gun barrels.

Thanks for the comment Gits ! Unfortunately Little H is a lazy ass teenager and it’s taken god knows how long to persuade him to paint , never mind base , never mind drill gun barrels, but small steps! He like converting so maybe that my “in” !

Little H was on fire tonight , plasma squad done !

Awesome! Love the plasma glow, the marines look great again!

Little H has fantastic brush skills for a teenager! Teenage me is very jealous!

Hey thanks Gits ! It’s just getting the basics down then lots of oils and airbrushed Contrast paints !

Small update today: Little H had a real tag team event on the Banner dude. I sprayed the Armour, little H filled in details, I applied decals and did the banner (as Little H hadn’t done one before- teenager logic) then Little H finished the highlights on the silver and white as my aging eyesight and dicky bladder wasn’t good enough

Tonight’s random Work in Progress, Tyranids that we’re only bought to spice up Space Hulk, another Tag Team co-operation between me and Little H

I really like that color scheme. I wonder if the bases aren't a little too close to the color of the nids though... I think you're losing some impact there.

That’s a really good point and I agree , you are correct !
However I was trying to match the homemade space hulk / zone mortalis boards I made and that was the colours

Here they are on a board to see how they match, I will get the wall done soon

Thanks for commenting Warboss ! I had to, it would’ve bugged me otherwise ! I have some Genestealers based on dirty white and it just looks WRONG !

Today I worked from home. Painted instead !

Little H is back to his last ways. I managed to teach him to apply decals properly but that meant he wasn’t able to do the basing
Anyhow finished another group between us !

Great looking eyes on those guys especially! Good basing scheme too, warm base makes the cool-toned mini pop!
