I need to finish that game, I think I've got a chapter or two left... and then there's a sequel.

I like your shasvastii. If I had been thinking about it, I probably would have nabbed a pack of them to fill out a link or make conversions.

Kenny's endings were kind of hard to watch. Don't expect any kind happy ending though.

Got some more Haqq to work on tonight, but will probably spend most of the evening playing Dead Island.

Well I kind of figured that when you could either try to save the guy and fail, pissing someone off, or not try to save the guy and piss someone else off...he dies either way lol.

Spoiler the walking dead stuff please. I haven't seen season 5 or 6 as we only have Netflix. Makes me sad that I can't keep up with the unlife of zombies .

Cool looking seed soldiers. Angel pretty much gets a pass on anything he does when painting because he is so awesome. So if he doesn't want armor panels .

Not to worry Theo, we're talking about the Telltale video game. There's only two "seasons" of it, but it's really good. You should check out a commentary-free playthrough of it. It's basically an interactive show.

I'm only halfway through season 2 of the walking dead so I think you're OK . Safe from me at least.

As far as the show goes, I've only seen what's on Netflix. I think that goes up to season 4? Honestly though, I think I liked the game's story and characters more. The fact that a good chunk of the game is told from a child's perspective makes it a lot more interesting, too. It also helps that the game's cast is more likeable and relatable than the show's.

I don't know what any of you are talking about since I'm old school and read the comics as they were coming about way back in prehistory.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Got the first Republic Trooper figure from my Afterlife: Shards of LIberty set done. I started with the Yoshida's Bodyguard first since she was only a single piece.

I'd used a Vallejo Games Color Desert Yellow on her, but in these pics it looks more like it's just full on yellow, rather than desert-ish. I'm not entirely sure yet though if I want to go with the colors like this, or if I want to reverse them, with a tan uniform and dark gray, almost black color for the armor. Thoughts?

Last night I wound up painting my Ragik Hacker. I'll probably either add lenses or shiny bits to his hacker goggles after he's dipped. I'm not decided yet.

Here's a small update on my Pile 'O Shame.

The reason for the small "X" on the Wu Ming is due to my having only done one figure out of the box. :( Currently working on the XAI Robots from Reaper and the Winterguard from Privateer.

I really like most of the Afterlife sculpts, and that one looks great. I think that reversing the scheme may well work better, have you got a similar "sacrificial miniature" that you could try it out on?

Great colour choices on the Ragik Hacker.

Nice progress on the pile o'shame too. Which Wrath Of KIngs faction is that boxed set for?

He's got Gortsi from Wrath of Kings... and he won't swap me any of his extra wolves either.

That he won't ever get around to painting.

I totally dare you to paint that starter. I double dog dare you.

Then you have no excuse for lamenting how you have no fantasy stuff to use.

Yep good stuff

I also like your photo of shame and the simple choice to cross things off. I should have done that with my TODO list or something, easier than what I did, more entertaining than just stopping

You're working your way through the pile of shame quite well.

I'm going to throw a vote for the Gortsi as well, they are the faction I'd want if we had a distributor in the UK.

Wow. I had seen the renders of that model, but hesitated. Not only have you done that model justice I think I might just have to pick it up myself because of the paint job.

Glad you liked her, Theophony! It's not everyday I can convince someone to buy into a line by painting a single figure. I hope you'll like the rest of them that I do just as much. I'm starting work on a regular Republic Commando and a CRANE trooper. Still trying to work with my Basius Pad, and it's definitely a learning process.

I started work on more stuff from the pile. Unofortunately, thanks to a weekend trip to Brookhurst, I just added more stuff to it. I've been painting the Khador Winterguard figures I got and my Rackham Lion swordsmen for use in Frostgrave. They'll be classed as Sharpshooters and Templars, respectively.

I just finished these three today and I have one more Winterguard from that blister, and one more swordsman to do and then I can take them off my list.

Good stuff. I particularly like the aesthetic of the handgunner guy.

Sounds like you'd like Khador then, Grim. That guy is one of their basic infantry. I'm actually surprised by how well they look in Menoth's colors.

Tonight's plan is to finish up the two remaining guys from these blisters. The swordsmen are very time consuming on account of their little swirly details on their armor. You don't get a sense of how tiny and thin they are from the pic.

Once these guys are done (and my pile 'o shame gains a couple more marks), I'll work on some Afterlife. I also picked up some more Rackham Wolfen over the weekend and some more AE WWII as well. The Weird War guys should be easy to do and I'll mix them in, but would you guys prefer to see the Wolfen over more stuff from the pile?

I think I'd have to play cygnar or one of the hordes armies... But then seeing them with diff colors may make all the difference.

Paint what you like, its all good stuff.

Those metal Lions look pretty sweet. I could easily see using them as Elven champions amongst the Swordmasters.

Yeah, I could easily see them being used as elves. Though, I actually do have some Rackham elves floating around somewhere. Anyway, finished the whole set.

Nice looking figures to be sure. Them being one piece also helped. There was a second set of swordsmen like these guys at Brookhurst a couple months back that I almost bought. While they had the same general design and weapons, their helmets were closed and they were multipart. I kind of wish I'd picked them up, now.

Finished the other Winter Guard, too.

It's kind of funny, the Khador guys were real quick and easy to paint up, but those Lions were really time consuming. Thankfully, I won't have to paint so much bone and brass for a little bit. Now, I'm nearly done with my XAI Robots (just need to do a once over of their bases and a little cleanup) and I'll be priming a couple more Afterlife figures. Getting the Basius pad to work has been a little difficult. The Green Stuff keeps wanting to lift off when I remove the base from the pad and ruins the whole thing, making me have to do it over. Eventually I got the bases decent enough though. Priming will begin for them in the morning.

You need something in-between . try water at first and .move up to something like baby oil or Vaseline if water won't work. I think water should work though.

I don't have a basius pad but water isxhow I keep my sculpting tool and fingers from sticking to the GS.

Water is what they recommend in the video IIRC.

Can you do a scale shot of the rack am next to something GW or Mantic? They might be a cheap alternative for KOW.

Water was what I used. The base also wants to slide a bit when I press it into the pad. I think it's just something I'm going to have to work on. I'll try a different lubricant next time.

Here's a quick size comparison.

I don't think Rackham would work as a cheaper alternative to anything, considering the prices they go for online. Maybe the plastics could work as an alternative, but not the metals.

Both the Rackham and Khador models look great. I'd never have thought of using purple for the Khador.

Okay, painted up one of my CRANE Heavy Infantry from Afterlife.

After looking at the pics, I think I may do a wash over his undersuit. The highlighting I did doesn't show up at all. It'll need to wait though since I'm nearing the bottom of the Nuln Oil pot, and the stuff that's left is a little too dark.

I may also redo his helmet lenses with OSL instead of the gem effect.

Painted up my Reaper XAI Robots. So, that's another thing I can strike from the pile.

The red one's guns do sit crooked. They just didn't want to go on flush, so they're angling slightly to the side.

The tan one is on a smaller base because I'll be using him as a Tinbot.

Thanks for the size comparison.

Miniaturemarket has a bunch of the plastic rackham stuff which is all prepainted, but breaks down to about $2 a figure. Not sure if there's enough for a full army of anything though. I never liked their wolves (I know most people do, but not my taste), but they might have enough to do a counts as ogre army in KOW.

Is that one of the Anvil Miniatures models? I like the gem-lenses you've done on him. If you have another it might be worth doing the OSL on the second model so you can do a side-by side instead of just going over this one.
