Hey all, I'm going to be getting a couple of units of Tallarn Rough Riders to finish off the Tallarn section of my army... but I just don't want horses in my armies. Looking through the GW website I've come across two different types of plastic Cold One. Firstly there's the Dark Elf one, the Cold One that comes straight from the Godzilla remake: http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99380212002&orignav=9 And then there's the newer one, the Lizardmen one that is thinner: http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99380208004&orignav=9 Has any one here had any experience/troubles/advice with modelling Rough Rider legs: http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947010504404&orignav=9 http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947010504405&orignav=9 ... on either of these types of models. Personally I like the baby Godzilla version better, but I could go either way. BYE

I've used fantasy pistolier legs onmine with horses. They have a saddle built into the legs and look better with the cadian models than the attillan legs. I bet you could use those and simply adjust with pliers to reach the desired width. I'll bet money that the Dark Eldar Cold One will look more natural with the IG figure. Hope that helps.

Not into the classic Velociraptorish models, HBMC? Funny- you're the first Tallarn lizard-converter that I haven't seen go for the older figs. If you don't mind my asking, is it the look of the new models that you prefer, the availability/price, or the fact that they're plastic? Just curious- and thinking about doing Exodites, so lizards are interesting right now.

HBMC I actually use converted Cold ones as rough riders (exodite allies). They work well. I find standing them up on two legs gives them a better looking-raptor style. Glad its not just me who noticed the resemblance to the Godzilla imitator (taint godzilla unless theirs a small Asian man inside a rubber suit involved) If you're going all out with a quality conversion, have you given thought to using some WFB figures as a base instead, tweaked with greenstuff et al to taste? Just a thought. I could se these guys as a base http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?do=Individual&code=99060203033&orignav=301380&ParentID=703&GameNav=13&ItemNav=301786

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I'd suggest using the legs from some Kislev Horse archers http://store.us.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.us?WCI=Menu&WCE=Search&Query=kislev&System=Warhammer&Image1.x=66&Image1.y=16&Image1=Search also, if I am correct, the godzilla cold ones are slightly wider across the saddle than the lizard ones, if that makes a difference to you
