Both are from Forge World- the titan is one of 3 I've got to back up my Word Bearers Army (9000pts)
The Warhound I think now goes for £290 and the Greater Bloodthirster is £125- expensive but well worth it....

I've got the new Brass Scorpion next on the painting list - I'll add in pictures once I've started it.

the same guy also wanted some fallen terminators for his chaos army, so I obliged.

closed robes

open robes

these were the test models, I wound up making twenty five for his army.

because there is so much nurgle love in this thread, here is a pic of my great unclean one. I've been playing for a very long time, and have a soft spot in my heart for a lot of the older models. the old GUO was too small, so I re-sculpted him to be in line with the new greater daemons.

I think this is probably the fourth or fifth model I sculpted completely out of clay. hes a bit rough around the edges, but I like him.

here's a good group shot for scale.

and in keeping with my trend of pictures that apply yet don't, I give you the following.

my beer stein (its huge, it holds 32 ounces of tasty beverage. I made it out of a flower vase, haha.)

thanks for looking!

Oh man! I love those Fallen Termies! I was hellbent on making Death Shadows for my CSM army and that is EXACTLY how I want their robes.

Got any tips on how to do that up on regular CSM bodies?

it would be the same with regular marines as it is for termies, with the exception of the cut-out for the backpack.

one trick I figured out early that might help is to do the torso and legs separate. I put the rope waistband in there for a reason.
I basically shaped the hood out of clay, the stuck it to the head. next, I added the clay to the torso, and smoothed in the creases. ( get rubber tipped clay shapers, they make a world of difference when doing soft features.)
for the lower half of the robes, do the overlapping creases in the front first, whether they are open or closed. once you have the hard lines, add in the clay for detail. I also use magicsculp for detail like that, rather than greenstuff. it dries much harder, so its easier to make armatures out of it.

if you only have green stuff, then come at the front from the sides. get your detail built up over the knees, then let it dry. after its hardened, you can add in the flap to the front. for these models, it took about three trys to figure out how the clay was going to sit on the legs. I'm still not happy with how the cloth sits, but the client was happy, so that was good enough for me. the later ones came out much better, so over the coarse of doing it 25 times, I kinda figured out how cloth sits.

closed robes are much, MUCH easier than open ones. with the closed robes, you can just build a pile of green stuff between the legs, and start to shape it when its at the right thickness. I would definitely try the closed robes first.

another tip is to make sure any and all erroneous detail is removed from the legs. if they have thew mark VI style legs with the prominent shin guards, cut the top off of the knee so it doesn't bulge out the robes.

hopefully I helped. if not, you can PM me with specific questions.

Wow she kicks ass! i totally love the spear! how did you do the skin ?!?

The skin starts with a 2/1 mixture of liche purple and dheneb stone. Then I add tentacle pink and blood red to the mix and paint a layer. Then I add bleached bone to the mix in three successive layers followed by washes of baal red and liche purple, then I re-highlight with the lightest shade of my mix.

@ pox what was that stuff you used for the termie robes? is it similar to green stuff?

Its similar to green stuff, it just has a few different properties. Its a two-part epoxy clay called Magicsculp. It cures much harder than GS, and has no memory. I like using it, it just takes a little while to get used to it if you've used a lot of GS.

The biggest benefit to me is cost, Its about thirty bucks for five pounds.

Thanks dudes. I made a whole unit of CSM who are "veterans" (odd word for CSM) of the EoT campaign, using the Possessed bodies, legs and backpacks, with possessed/mutation/commandd frame heads mixed through. Since there's been a positive reaction, when I paint the whole unit I'll definately post pics.
