Loved the mini intros, and I am looking forward to start.

@Dragonjaj: it really is a pain to read through your posts. Can you please turn on spellcheck?

No problem, I know that feeling far to well. The lack of info just adds some mystery band gives me a long leash to RP my charactor

am PM'ing some bits and bobs to you for consideration.

As the sole Combat Engineer, I guess i'm the go-to guy when it comes to dis-arming and setting explosive traps and clearing fortified positions?

Yeah, wasn't sure if you meant to come across as such, so I've put Avare being suspicious of you showing compassion, but Remus believes that it was duty that drove you, not thought for civilians.

And yes, if it comes to a point where we're having to storm a strongpoint (or ready a fortification ourselves) you'll be giving plenty of advice and setting the scene, I'm sure.

@dragonaj: Try writing your posts out on Word first, spellchecking, then copy pasting here. It's how I did the Character sheets for the most part, and it helped immensely.

On topic of age, my character is 29. It doesn't make much sense, as he normally can't be captain at that age but reckoning that stormtoopers don't normally have a long life expectancy... Hmmm i don't know... some help?

Could of been a field promotion, his captain died, so he filled the role.

hmmm, that's possible... He could have been the highest ranking sergeant back then. Alright, the query is solved.

I might be wrong, but somehow I got the impression that rank on many worlds were given much like they were in the 18th Century, You know, Captain Sharpe an all that

Anyhoo, the point I am poorly trying to make is that Rank was given to the nobles rather than via promotion but it did happen on occasion for the same reasons Toastedandy made in his post above. Therefore it would be perfectly possible (assuming I'm right) that he could be a high rank purely because of his nobility. Of course he would still be as rough as they come, none of that hip hip, I say ole bean, nonsense

EDIT: Remembered the dates and edited my post accordingly

It does depend on what planet they are from. My character hails from Ousia, A planet I came up with for my new guard army. Ousia basically is a backwater planet, covered in one big swamp, bayous areas etc. There simply isn't a thing like nobility on Ousia. There's the governor, that's all. The rest are just rural, rough, mean,...kinda men. You know, much like people who would live in a stinking swamp with dangerous animals (read: monsters) living next to them.

So, according to the fluff of the planet, my character would have been given the rank because of a field promotion, or was singled out in training for tactic insight and get to follow tactics to become a captain. I think the first, the field promotion, suits my liking the most, so I'll go with that.

In which case go with what you feel best, the fact you have a background already means your in a much better position to give much more depth and life into your charactor. My background is still very much being written out and hoping to post it on dakka with a few stories to compliment the Chapter when I'm done.

Indeed i did, you've given me plenty of room to RP with, and i look forward to doing it. as for Wilson himself, He's a Guardsman. Of course his loyalty is to the Throne first, he also had personal reasons for holding the line like he did.

EDIT: to the warp with it, ill just post it here, its not like its sinister or anything. This way you can make amendments if desired.

Wilson's married. His wife is chief medic of the Feroisan 5th mechanized and holds the rank of captain, but they'd met before the draft. That village in the hills was where her family lived, and was also a natural choke point. he would have stood his ground and died standing anyway, (he's a Guardsman and knows his duty) but that the fact that his wife had family there gave him the drive to stand firm against an entire Ork WAAAGH! and emerge alive. (Also, as he did it alone for the most part he had more freedom to be unorthodox once his Officer and Commissar was dead.) the order to defend it was unrelated.

EDIT 2: just to clarify, he'll always obey orders, its just if he can find a way to obey and do "the right thing," he'll do it and damn the consequences .

From characters? Very unlikely. With the first operation I doubt even the NPCs will have too hard a time.

Hey, when you're an inquisitor facing off against the hells of the universe anything is good for a laugh. Anything.

BTW the Hospitallers job is a lot different from the interrogators job.

The hospitaller doesn't do any torture or interrogation, but just keeps them alive so the inquisitor/interrogator can prod the prisoner a bit longer.

I reckon my character would be working closely with Mordoskul though!

An interrogator's role will often involve healing their subject, as a Hospitallier won't always be on call. Anyway, that was only Avare hypothesising, Claudius' skills don't necessarily run that way.

Posting Rules

1) When you post in the RP, your post should focus on your character, but remain 3rd person. People will become very confused if everyone starts using first person.

2)Before you post, read the previous posts and alter your post accordingly. If a firefight has begun shortly before your post (and you're in the area) you should be aware of that and reacting to it in your post.

3) The team will be splitting up, sometimes for short passes to chase down our quarry, other times to split up and investigate different leads. As such before your post, in bold put your Character's name, their location and their situation on top. This will help people know what is happening to who, and where.

Example:
Character: Interrorgator Avare
Location: Sub-hive levels; Back-alley of Morcus Nightclub
Situation: Chasing quarry

Avare leapt of over the fallen ganger, the unfortunate struggling to grab a hold of the knife lodged in his throat. Sheating her power-sword she gave chase to the mutant, who turned back to fire blindly down the alleyway.

"feth!" Avare yelped as a slug slammed into the wall beside her. She clicked the commbead earpieace in activity. "Jager! The informant is heading your way, cut him off before he reaches the hab blocks!"
