DA SPEEEEEEEEDDD!!!!
Finally got round to completing my new pair of Grot Buggies, luckily for me Forgeworld has a 40 approved unit similar to Ork Buggies in the form the Tauros.
After this and the Squigsuit Rough Riders I'll likely be taking a break from my Grots at last

SQUIGSUITS COMIN IN FAST!
2 Weeks to get my 5 Squigsuits and 2 Buggies painted up for a local tournament, sadly I can only show 4 due to the fact I can't hold the squad leader's pose with blue tac. He's drop kicking an ork to the ground by the way.
You'll have to wait till he's fully painted.

No comments for the squigsuits?
Well in that case I'll ask a quick question: As I've mentioned before I'm planning to build a 2nd Warbot and use them as Armoured Sentinels instead? But do you think the model is suitable for representing front armour 12, if not do you think adding a rhino door sized shield to the right arm would help?

A BRUTALLY KUNNIN IDEA!
One of the things I often think about is where to go once the grots are done, once I've built all the Imperial Guard units I want what then?
Allies comes to mind and I've been brainstorming a few ideas I found myself with an idea I'm keen to share with you all and get some feedback on...
Here are my past allies ideas.
Feral Orgyns Cavalry (SW Thunderwolfs),
Diggaz from Gorkamorka (Space Marine scouts or Space Wolves),
Mutants (Nurgle Deamons)
The idea of mutants appearing out the ground via Deep Strike and the fact the grots would not fully trust them and thus need to make the 'one eye open' test when within 6 would make sense. I then thought it would be cool to have the mutie boss riding some big monster to proxy a Big Unclean One. Then I immediately dropped the whole mutant idea when I realized I could use something much better for an allied Greater Deamon...
I give you Squigzilla (mine will likely be the traditional red though), seriously throw in 3 nurgling swarms (dunno how I'd convert them yet) and field this fella as a greater deamon. The idea being that he's more a weapon of war than a unit; grots wake him up, drug him with some stims then catapult or teleport him among the enemy. Of course the grots would require to take the one eye open test around him.
At first I considered the Bloodthrister the obvious choice with the restriction that he could never take to the air and instead hop round like jump infantry, but the wargear and WS:10 was a deal breaker.
So at the moment the Great Unclean One seems the best choice as he's stats represent a big squig better. The 'shrouded' rules can be represented by converting it to look a bit like the Warhammer Online Gas Squig. As for the Level 1 Biomancy, well the good mad dok can take along for the ride and be a base detail.
What do you think to my weaponized squig idea?

Thought the same thing but the models I could use to create 3 swarms are limited to just 3 small squig models from the Runtherder, Flash Gitz and Goblin Fanatics.

Someone pointed out that if I'm going to have the squig represent an allied great unclean one then I can't have it painted red as it would need a paint scheme to better support what it represents, so I've been playing around with photoshop and trying different skin tones for my Huge Poisonous Squig. What do you think?

SQUIGSUITS JUMP INTO ACTION!!!
At last my Squigsuits are complete! Now my grots can possess the speed and ferocity of a Squig, perfect for Rough Riders proxies. Pinning my drop kicking squad leader was a real pain to get him to look right.
Here is a more detailed picture of a painted Squigsuit, I'm glad I created the little Grot gun drones.
Now all that's left to get done is the 2 Leman Russes, my spotter tank and my new Hellhound modifications and then I'll be ready for the WAR IN THE NORTH!!!

DA MEKS NEED YA FEEDBACK!
With 16 days to go before my grots head out for the War In The North Tournament I have 4 tanks left to do, one of which is my Hellhound, but rather than my original tank that I posted earlier I'm considering a modification kit for my Lobba Lorry (Wyvern). The benefit of this is it's free up a space in the army case for something completely different like an artillery gun, buggies etc.
Here is the work in progress; going to bridge the cap between the fuel platform and truck with some armour plating, the truck will have it's armour plow from before. I'll also be adding one or two rivets strips to the drums.
Well what'cya think? Any suggesitons for improvements? Do you think it can represent a Hellhound?

2ND TO LAST WAVE; DA BATTLE TANKZ
Got the 2 Battle Tanks completed, 1 of which will serve as my Kommand Tank identified by the massive skull on the front. I went with the boxy turret because it just looks a lot more orky... I mean something a greenskin would like, that and the spiked tracks make it very intimidating.

YOU KAN SUPPORT DA GROT REVOLUSHUN!
On a side note I've uploaded a lot of images to my Dakka Dakka Grot Rebel gallery but the majority of them don't have any votes, I'd appreciate it if you could take the time to vote on some of your favourite units in this army: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-10465-31947_The%20Grot%20Rebelz.html
ROKS FROM ABOVE!
The best thing about the battle tanks is that they can be used for other vehicles as well such as a Deathstrike Missile Launcher. When coming up with ideas I refused to have a giant missile, as I hate the idea that a general would put a weapon of such high yield on the front line. So I came up with this much better idea inspired by the Ork Audio Drama the Klaw Of Mork, to represent my Deathstrike Missile Launcher I will have a large tractor beam dragging down a asteroid/ship from orbit to drop on the enemy. Which makes a lot more sense as the weapon would need to not move to keep hold of it's ammo and any damage would make it lose it's the grip on whatever it's pulling down.
Going to play a few games to see if I like using the weapon and if I do I'll get it fully converted and painted.

DA LAST WAVE OF GROT REBEL STUF!
Well here it is the last wave of Grot Rebel units, now I can take a nice relaxing break from the hobby and then return for a new project. First off the new Hellhound, I'll likely use it in larger games or when I need to remove the Wyvern to free up my Heavy Support slots for something else. Turrets a bit small but this was rush job as I needed it for the upcoming tournament this weekend.
I loved the small tanks I converted from spare bits in my previous version of this army to use as Hydras, however I struggled to find a use for them in this new army as the armoured sentinel idea didn't work out. But I finally did find a suitable use for the model in the form of a proxy for a Manticore implacement. (Manticore turret: AV10 2 Hull Points Immobile). Like before the idea is this tank calls down Grot Bomb Strikes with the D3 representing how many bombs make it to the target. I needed to add some plates round the tracks to make it clear it is an immobile vehicle.
Might make an alternative top with my shield generator for a possible Shield array proxy?
And that's it but before I go I will aim to get a good quality full army photograph to post on the log.

FULL ARMY SHOTZ TEAZA!
Sadly I won't have the full army shots till next week, but here are some group shots from the recent tournament.

COMIN SOON!
I'll be taking a break from the Grots while I work on my new army, which I'll reveal later this week. But once they're done I'll be coming back to grots to work on the following units...
Grot Rebel Buggies
Never got round to painting the buggies this time but they'll be on the top of the list next time.
Ardgrotz
Carapace Veterans represented by bulky armoured grots like this chap below.
The Great Unclean Squig
One deamonic, big, angry and very poisonous squig plus a few little swarms to accompany him. These units maybe even made while I work on the other project.
Remade Deff Diggaz
While looking through the Imperial Armour book this morning I came across the Hades Drill rules, 100pts for a deep striking Melta Drill and a veteran squad to follow the turn after, yes please! So I'll be recreating the Deff Diggas using mechanicus heads and night goblin parts to create sort of Deff Korp Grotz.
The question is how to convert a suitable proxy for the Hades Drill or should I simply loot the forgeworld model as it is a cool looking model?
Armoured Sentinels
Will be creating a 2nd Warbot and arming both of them with Plasma Cannons.
Would like to start building these units asap but I need a break from my little greenskins.

WHY CAN'T I QUIT YOU GRETCHIN
I have a new project in the works but sadly parts and materials are slow to arrive so it's going to take time to built up speed before I start a log. Sadly this gives me an excuse to build addtional units for the grots, one of which will be the Digga and a veteran squad of mekboys the other is A GIANT ROBOT!!!
With the more variety in weapons I decided to ditch the Giant Squig for a giant robot. Mainly due to me being unsure of how the Squig would be received following the recent problems with the Enslaved Ork allies, besides having a Grotskull piloting a giant robot will be much better and won't look out of place in the army. I was fortunate to have a knight exo frame to play with the other day and an idea formed which I photoshopped below.

DIZ WAAAGH KEEPZ ROLLIN!?!
Well since my new project is slow to start up it looks like the Grots are getting 2 new units. The first of which is the Night Tekz warband, these guys love using tech to gain the upper hand and thus use a Breaching Drill to surprise the enemy. I had to convert shotguns for most of the squad this time as the FW Breaching Squad can't take lasguns. I doubt I can ever quit doing the grots as making this squad has created some funny characters, such as Bobby on the right who looks like an old victorian police man or the Meltagunner nicknamed "Tank Missile!".
Gazza the Squad Leader even looks so bad ass he might take a leave of absence to man a very big gun, he could maybe even work as a gretchin proxy of Coteaz thou maybe that's a little too far?
After seeing the new mechanicus models I will be converting them into some rocket artillery so can't wait for that.

COLD CALCULATING MACHINES?
Once the breaching drill squad is done I'll be focusing on my new project which in contrast to the grot's warm colours is rather cold, I won't announce till the first model is completed but the bases are coming out nicely.
GROT MEK'S GEARING UP FOR THE FUTURE!
When I do return to the grots I'll be ditching the giant robot for 6 Gretchin Battlebotz using the new Servitors as they're guns are powerful against MCs and Wraithknights. I plan to convert them using the parts gathered for the armoured Sentinels to create a model like the one photoshopped below (I could even use them as armoured sentinels with a weapon refit)
This will also mean that I will need a HQ choice for my allies. So Gazza Stripbolt, the mek in the squad above maybe getting a bigger base and some fancy gear, or if he unsuitable maybe convert Gazlowe from WOW and HOS as my mek

DA BEST BOSS DA GROTZ COULD HAVE!!!
I absolutely love Kaptin Squigscream! Commissar Yarrick's rule suit a scrappy Grot Warboss perfectly. Taking part in a tournament this weekend and faced an army of 4 knights 1 of which Squigscream held in combat before being crushed underfoot only to get up a go for another round. If anyone has read Betrayer from the Horus Heresy series it was like the scene when Angron saves Lorgar BUT WITH A GROT!!!
In the 3rd game after his terminator squad was wiped out a marine captain charged his gunline where Squigscream jumped forwards himself and challenged t him in close combat, 2 rounds of combat later he emerged victorious without a scratch but was still hungry for more.... so took down two assault termies nearby again unscared.
OH GW NEVER CHANGE MY SCRAPPY BLOODTHIRSTY WARBOSS!

THE MEKKY WARBAND: DA NIGHT TEKZ
Well here's the last grot warband, my infantry tray is now full, so unless I buy a new infantry tray there is unlikely to be another Squad. Plus I'm going to be taking a break from my grots believe it or not.
This squad was all about gear and I wanted them to look mekky, due to the original seragent Gazza Stripbolt looking too bad ass he was sidelined him for something else, instead we have a small night grot converted using the golbin shaman and a skatari head. With the exception of the Metlagunner and Ork Servo sku... er head they are all armed with Shotguns. Since they'd be emerging from the hold created by the digga I thought to give one a glow stick, which I was unsure at first but came out well.
N ext up the digga!

9 YEARZ OF GRETCHIN REVLOUTION!!!
With the completion of my final squad yesterday I decided to recreate a picture I took 9 years ago of the first grot rebelz, the army has been rebuilt twice and you can see how far I have come since then. So for those who wish they could paint that good remember, every expert was once a beginner.
The reason behind my choice for using guard rules was the fact a proper gretchin army using the ork codex would have been limited, very expensive and not very good. So I thought what's the 2nd weakest thing in the universe and settled with guard, and despite all the new ork units I don't think I can go back.
DIGGA DIG, DIGGA DIG!
Looks what's taking shape on my model workstation.

Huzzah finished yesterday, my gretchin digga! Perfect for getting behind enemy lines and tearing through enemy tanks. Had to correct some of the bend forgeworld parts thou but here it is.
AND WITH THIS THE GROTS WILL BE COMPLETED! But that doesn't mean I finished with them, 'The Red Gobbo' mecha will be built on the side of my next main project that I will start the log later this week.
One disadvantage to this army is my case is now full and extremely heavy to carry!
