Sorry, but "the rules as they are now are just fine" is perfectly legitimate criticism.
If you like the current rules - I would finally like to know why, "because I said so" is not a valid argument, it's not even an argument.
You have this backwards. If you're proposing a new rule the burden is on you to justify the change. So far nobody has come even close to justifying it to a point that I would expect anyone to use the proposed rule on its own merits (instead of as a way to nerf an army they just lost to).
If you don't care about Dakkamite's proposed rule - Do NOT respond to this thread!
You're confusing not caring and not liking it. Part of a forum is discussing a proposal, and criticism of a bad idea is entirely on-topic and legitimate.

Well, Dakkamite, hope you have plenty of people who agree to play the game your way.

Actually Sleg, Peregrine is right on that point; got no problem with criticism of the rules, as long as its done in a reasonable fashion.
The people who don't care about it, are, in fact, just not posting here. Maybe even a few who do but who are scared off by all the gak fighting
Edit: I find no shortage of people who want to play this game with various differences. I post the rules here though so that a million 40k players can point out any issues there might be with them, rather than just throwing them into a game and hoping they work out.

No, you just misunderstood. I hate all of the proposals in the part I quoted when I said that, not all house rules in general. You just happened to list a bunch of bad house rules.
Which means providing you abstain from anymore jerkass comments then this fruitless conversation can end.
You can end it at any time you like by no longer posting about your idea. But as long as you post in a public discussion forum you can't complain when you get discussion.

Well, more than happy to let the matter rest. Theres been no real need for a rule change since I found out about them needing to target a model. Even the tournament powergamers I've faced have *all* broken this rule so I'm quite surprised to find out it exists.

Sorry I have ignored Peregrine - so I do not know what he said. Oh the Idea for Barrage to always scatter without LOS - a hit. So that means the first placement of the template - lands where ever (on target or scattered). The first actual shot from barrage, the scatter die is rolled until it produces an arrow. Flip the template in the direction of the arrow (count the number under the template and what unit they are from and move on. Scatter die (flip or not) count number of hits. resolve all hits in this manner, Roll for wounds and then roll for saves.
As for save we are still keeping in the where the hole determines cover saves. So I know there has been a lot of unesscary post in this thread and thus scaring off valid posters - but feel good that is was not for not

Well, that was a productive use of everyone's time. Well done, everyone.
Just for future reference, not liking an idea doesn't necessarily require 5 pages of back and forth. Make your point on why you don't like a proposed idea, by all means... and if the OP isn't receptive to your point, just move on. There's room in this game for everybody.
