Paintwork is gorgeous and remarkably consistent across different schemes. My only question would be...isn’t that a Night Lord on Dorn’s base?

This doesn’t rule out Alpharius being involved of course!

of course you are right... that is a Night Lord and while Alpharius could indeed be anybody it was a FB comment that led me to my statement

Great paintjobs! I really like those red cloaks, they have a very satin like feel to them!

Thx for the praise ... I mostly paint cloaks red because I know what I am doing there ;-)

For Heresy Space Wolves Armor I use Standard Mechanicus Grey, Nuln Oil (Agrax Earthshade is possible as well), then again Standard Mechanicus Grey for surfaces, highlights using Dawnstone Grey, Administratum Grey and even Ulthuan Grey for the sharpest edges

yeah, I prefer that 30k grey over Space Wolves Grey for 40k ...

Thanks mate ... I would do more Imperial Fists but painting yellow is not getting easier for me so I am happy doing other stuff.

I was very busy with my ASOIAF stuff, but with the release of the Abaddon and Sanguinius I had to get back to GW .... here is Alpharius!

Base color of Stegadon Scale Green, full wash of nuln oil, clean up larger surfaces with Stegadon Scale Green again, then edge highlights with Sotek Green and Temple Guard Blue. The tips of the scales are Stormhost Silver. No drybrushing ... every dot on the scales was done individually.

I actually painted this one years ago, but I never was able to take proper pictures.

Very impressive work, Word Bearers aren't my favourite in terms of lore, but their minis are excellent and more than make up for it.
